I was hit in the nose 8 days ago and recieved a broken nose on the bridge and 5 stiches. After 7 days I went to my local walk In clinic to have the stiches removed. He was only able to remove 2 as 3 were not ready and was told to come back in 5 days to see if the remaining 3 were ready to be taken out. He also advised me to keep a bandage on. Will keeping the bantage on effect the stiches from healing the wound? Im scared that the stiches will not be ready to be taken out and the wound may reopen.
What are the best options cosmetically for closing up a wound on direct front of bridge of nose. Is a flap better than a direct linear closure? Is one better than the other if both are possible?
I had an open rhinoplasty 14 days ago, turbinate reduction and some tip restructuring. Ive had no major problems over the last two weeks, but I have some concerns about the wound across my columella as it is very uneven and has a bulge on the left side. This bulge almost looks like skin thats not flush with the rest of the wound (its not painful) I see my surgeon in 2 days for my first review but would also like some other opinions on this please! Should I be worried or is this swelling?
I had a rhinoplasty surgery 9 days ago, and 2 days ago I went back to remove the cast and stitches. The nurse that removed the stitches had to remove the scabs as well because of the stitches that were caught inside.. I am now really afraid that I am going to have really bad scarring, especially underneath my left nostril.. It looks bad, it has no scab (i think it's only the ointment showing), it's very open. I'm using an ointment made for scarring. My skin heals normally very well.
Just humour me here. I am fully aware that this is not how to raise the tip. Just leave all that aside and humour me for a moment. If a piece of skin is cut away and the wound is sewn together, would this raise the tip and would is stay raised? If you believe it would not raise the tip or it would not stay raised, can you explain why?
Hi Doctors, I am on my 5th day after a closed rhinoplasty, no broken bone just implant. I cleaned my nose with normal saline water and dried it as per my Doctor's instruction. I just took the extra step of dabbing it with betadine solution, is this okay? Thank you.
I was elbowed in the face 10 days ago and received a broken nose and required stitches for a 1cm wound on my nose (external). I need plastic surgery to realign my nose but I am still waiting for the insurance to confirm authorisation for the operation. Do I need to go myself to get the stitches removed or shall I wait until the surgery (which i imagine will be approximately another week). I have taken my nose bandages off too, is this OK?
I am 7 weeks post op from having a botched batton graft on my right nostril. I had 2 previous surgeries and this time it left a nasty gash on my nose which is healing very slowly. I am worried it will leave a dip from a side profile because it is not closing like it should. What are your comments and suggestions. Please help
