I had septum/rhinoplasty surgery in 2019 and underwent a tip revision in the winter of 2023 to adjust some cartilage in my tip that didn't heal well after the initial surgery. It's been a little over a year now since the revision surgery, and I've noticed that the base of my nose feels very stiff. Additionally, my upper lip feels like it's being pushed down slightly, and it prevents my upper teeth from fully showing when smiling. Thanks for your help!
I had minor revision rhinoplasty surgery to remove/even out uneven scar tissue on my tip in Feb 2023 (after undergoing septorhinoplasty surgery in 2019), but since then I've noticed that the base of my nose feels very stiff and sort of folds inward when I smile. Is this normal? The second surgeon added a tiny bit of cartilage from my ear to even out my tip from the initial surgery since there wasn't enough left from my septum, but I'm worried it is now overly projected. Could this be swelling?
I got a rib graft rhinoplasty 2 years ago. I am not sure why a rib graft was used in my primary but I want a revision since i regret it a lot & i'm not happy with how small it looks and doesn't fit me when i just wanted the hump removed. I also don't like how stiff it feels, i was wondering what other grafts can be used that are softer and more normal nose like bc if the previous rib graft can be removed?
Nose was squishy. Had surgery 1 yr ago to fix deviated septum, valve collapse (rib graft), and re-build tip. No normal breathing improvement. The Tip, sides, front, are stiff like a muzzle. Columella seems wider near bottom post op making nostril holes smaller. Does wider columella reduce normal breathing? Can you thin it to increase space at entrance would it help? Risks? Would removing scar tissue from sidewalls (thick rib graft) help? How important is empty space? 55 yrs male.
In my primary, I know ear cartilage was used to augment the bridge and tip also an alarplasty. I'm not sure if other supporting grafts are generally used too. I hate how stiff my nose is now and how it doesn't move like a natural nose. I am desperate to fix this and to get as close to my old nose possible. Can diced cartilage grafts be removed? Can my base be widened? If these things are possible, and if they are done, will my nose move like normal and will it look close to my original nose?
I had a rhinoplasty six years ago and the tip of my nose is still hard as a rock. Is this normal? I do not like this feeling, and I wonder if a revision surgery would help with this at all. I can sort of move it around just a little, but I cannot move it upwards or downwards.
I had a septorhinoplasty 19 months ago where LCSGs were sutured in with 5-0 Vicryl. I do not like how wide they make my nose, how stiff and uncomfortable they feel, and the subtle asymmetry on the sides. Some doctors have suggested that grafts can cause warping in the overlay skin over time. Should I wait for more swelling to subside or seek revision assessment now? Is it uncommon to have LCSGs removed for the reasons above? Or difficult? Thank you in advance.
I had closed septo/rhino 5 months ago. my tip is rock hard stiff. I hope it drops more. If it doesn't, is it possible I could have the tip derotated under closed please? My surgeon tells me he used dissolvable sutures. He sutured the medial crua higher onto the septum and deprojected my nose. In your expert opinion, is it possible that my tip can still drop after 5 months? I asked for Cheryl Cole's nose, he gave me Miss Piggy/Michael Jackson! I look like their offspring! Thank you.
I had a revision rhinoplasty and I know last time I didn't have tongue n groove but I have a feeling the doctor might have done it this time around. How do I know that I have that procedure? I am only 2 months post op but my tip and the entire nose feels a lot different compared to the last surgery. It is much stiffer at the tip and collumela area and when I push on it lightly its hard unlike last time . It almost feels like I might be touching a septum when I touch the tip of my nose.
I am 12 months post revision rhinoplasty with cartilage graft. While nose looks ok from the side it is very unattractive especially the tip from the front. There is still stiffness above the lower left nostril and overall in the tip area. Is this still going to change and will the nostrils/tip even out? Thank you
