the experience itself, was fine, boring but fine - i recomend bringing a friend to chat to. I was so excited to get rid of my pooch but nothing happened :( so devastated cos im skinny and the tech said im tiny and would only need 1 session... a thousand bucks to learn my lesson, i wonder why its worked so well for these american reviewers? maybe its not a zeltiq machine?

Hi diva222 -- I'm sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Did you feel a really interest sucking feeling when the machine was first put on, followed by a "frozen butter"-type feeling afterwards? I'm thinking maybe it wasn't administered properly.

HLMelb 23 Aug 2011
Hi diva222. I had Zeltiq in Melbourne and was told the same thing-1 session only required. I couldn't see any results at all. When I told the centre about it they talked me into having another session. I did it reluctantly as I felt like I had already wasted enough money. Anyway I did have a second treatment and have noticed that this time, my stomach bulge has clearly reduced. Even my daughter noticed it. If you can afford one more session, I would give it a try, and then you will know for sure if it works for you. I think most people need at least 2 sessions.

If you are thin then there is of course less fat to freeze and the results are more subtle but you should still see a difference. The Zeltiq machine is very easy to identify. You can check it on line and during the procedure you could have followed the progress of the treatment on the machine screen. Your abdomen should have felt very cold. When the device is removed after one hour the area treated looks like a stick of butter beneath the skin. If you didn't experience this than you might have been fooled. Zeltiq sells their machines only to dermatologists and plastic surgeons. That is also something to think of. Best Wishes.

We have seen remarkably consistent improvement in patients like you, provided that the fat is actually fat, and not instead a loose abdominal wall muscle after childbirth or fat that is actually inside the abdomen.
But you do have to give it the full 4 months to determine if you have had results. Some patients see results sooner, but some don't until the end of the 4 month period.
When did you have your treatment?

I too had 1 treatment (in Melbourne, Australia) 7 months ago on my tummy area. Absolutely no change whatsoever. I understand HLMelb that, as a minimum, perhaps 2 treatments are required, but I spent $1,600 on one treatment and not prepared to risk another $1600, especially if it doesn't make a difference or, if it does, the change is subtle! I went to a dermatologist and the procedure was carried out by a nurse. Yes, I had that cold solid lump on my tummy after the treatment plus weeks of tingling sensation (I was hoping that this was a sign that it was working - the fat cells were being destroyed, ha!). Might also add that a few years ago too I spent months undergoing the opposite type treatment - the heat frequency one, that too is a great money spinner for those flogging it! If I had the courage, I'd undergo lipo, as I think that's the only solution for stubborn areas that don't budge even with diet and exercise.

I had the same experience...two treatments, no result, after 5 months! In the last 4 weeks I've had a far better result from doing sit-ups at no cost....I also sent a post asking if another treatment I was undergoing (thermaslim) could be used in tandem (as I'd already paid for a course of 10 treatments of thermaslim). I received replies from doctors on this site that "vitamin supplements" were ok to take during zeltiq treatment. Thermaslim is not a vitamin supplement, it is another form of laser treatment, but it uses heat rather than cold!

Even though I am slender, I have a stubborn pot belly. I hate it and thought Zerona would be the magic cure--as did the dermatologist who performed my procedure. Both she and I were disappointed with the lack of results after 4 months (as many of her patients have had great success). She is offering to perform as second Zerona treatment for free (normal cost $1500). We'll see if I have better results the second time around.

Sorry about the above post. I was referring to my Zeltiq treatments. NOT Zerona.

You seem to have the exact shape as myself. they told me I had the perfect body for this. Thin but a few bulges of unwanted fat. I hope the 2nd round works better for you.

I tried Zeltiq September 2010. I didn't see any results. I'm ready to try Vaser or Water/Aqua Liposuction next I think. Why mess around with a maybe & only partial solution when you can get instant results with true Lipo. I'm going in for consultations soon and will probably go for real Lipo. I'm very fit/toned/strong all over my body except for this damn pooch/lower abs area that remains unchanged. (diet rips my whole body except lower abs!)
Pufferpunk 12 Dec 2011
Yes, obviously lipo is a much better solution but many can't afford the long downtime, pain & drainage. Never mind, the cost.

I had a second treatment in November, performed free-of-charge (usually $1500) by my dermatologist. I do think there was a tiny bit of improvement, but it's not as obvious as I was hoping. Plus, I've experienced a new problem. Though I've not gained ANY WEIGHT, my pant size has gone up an additional 1 to 2 sizes in one month's time. It's as if my butt and hips have exploded. It makes me wonder if the destruction of fat cells in my abdominal area have caused the fat cells in other areas (my hips/butt)to take on the "extra."
priestess355 17 Feb 2012
Well yeah. The body likes to maintain its weight. Take fat from one place and it'll end up in another. We can use this to your advantage - eg fat transplants to the face or hands.

Calorie in calorie out
Pufferpunk 17 Feb 2012
Do you work out?
1234st 19 Feb 2012
Yes, I work out. I do the P90X Classic workout 5-6 days a week and power walk with my dog 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening EVERY DAY. I used to run 3-5 miles 5 times a week, but my knees can't take it anymore.
beautydebbie 16 Mar 2012
I had mine done on Feb 2nd. As of today March 17th no results.
Babbsalot 30 Apr 2012
I dont't know why these Dr's are charging so much. I'm paying $2000 for 3 sessions. I was told you get 18% to 25% per session. I had it done today and it barely hurt. The first ten minutes felt like a slight pinching feeling than it went numb. I did the lower abs with the large applicator.
beautydebbie 1 May 2012
I had mine done Feb 2nd. I did not see results for 2 months. A small change, perhaps 1-2 inches off my stomach.
diva222 1 May 2012
Hi there, just to let you all know in response to your questins, that yes it was definitely a zeltiq machine... the process was just as it should have been, had a huge frozen rectangular lump after, was hoping for great things but they never eventuated...

Someone also asked as to the nature of my fat, I have never had a baby so I'm not sure what kind of fat it was, but all this time on, aIl I can say is I wouldnt get this done again, I think Splash in conjunction with one plastic surgeon are the only people who provide coolsculpt here in Sydney... I'd be interested to know if any other Sydney-siders have had a positive experience with coolsculpt/zeltiq or if we are all being taken for a ride...

Also to those wondering no, I did not get a second treatment... spending another $1000 on something that didnt work the first time... I cant justify it...
beautydebbie 1 May 2012
I can understand not wanting to spend 1000 on a second treatment if the first one did not work. Coolsculpt/zeltiq stock went way down, I know that is kind off the subject but when this technology first came it was expected to get better customer feedback than it has. people are not coming back for second treatments, and the company is not doing repeat business they expected to.
Pufferpunk 1 May 2012
I've had 5 & am thrilled with the results!
HLMelb 1 May 2012
Just to follow up on my comment above. I had 2 treatments & reported that I had a result with the second one. Overall though, I now would have to say that it hasn't been worth the expense for me. The cost involved is ridiculously high considering the very small benefit. If this cost $200 a treatment, that would be reasonable, but at $800 a pop it's a blatant rip off. I also think it scores so highly on this forum because people report a "thumbs up" immediately, rather than waiting to assess the results after 4 months. JMHO though! Best of luck to all.
