“I would not do smart lipo again!!!”
Smart Lipo: NOT worth it
Pain: Mild
I wanted to get the one to two dress size reduction I so often heard in advertisements. I had my chin, my back, my abdomen, my thighs (inner and outer) and knees. I just really wanted to look better especially in my stomach. I am overweight about 15 pounds.
The procedure was fine and the staff were all very nice. The first day after the procedure was painful, but it was not bad overall.
The result was not worth the money. I am so angry at myself for spending so much money. I have since been to a board certified plastic surgeon and have found out I could have had a tummy tuck, liposuction, and liposuction on thighs inner and outer for 10,500.00. I should have gone this route first. I am still paying back the loan I took for the smart lipo and am trying to convince my husband to let me get another loan to do what I should have done to begin with. I know he wants to kill me :)
The only part that was worth it was my chin. My chin had a small fat pad and it looks a ton better.
I should have not done this, it was not worth it. I would have done the chin again, but I don't think it is for a large area. My advice is to consult more than one board certified plastic surgeon and don't try to take the short cut. Go with the major surgery.

I know they say full results take up to six months... hopefully things will improve!

Two previous liposuction treatments performed in the spring of 2000 left me in pain and with considerable bruising, as well as weeks-long recovery. What a difference with my recent LipoSelection by VASER treatment! Although nearly 800 cc of fluid was aspirated I can enthusiastically state that, following the VASER Lipo treatment, I had absolutely NO bruising or swelling - I have already dropped a full pant size, and returned to work the Monday following my Friday procedure.

i feel the same too, i only did my outer thigh since 2 months and till now i feel a very small difference only it is true with that amount i would have a traditionnal liposuction with real results. I am hoping to feel less cheated after 6 months.

HAD SMART LIPO ON MY STOMACH. PROCEDURE NOT PAINFUL. HOWEVER, 4 MONTHS OF MODERATE PAIN, ITCHING AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BURNING. UNABLE TO RESUME REGULAR EXCERCISING. COULD BARELY WALK THE DOG!!! HAD TO TAKE STEROIDS AND MILD PAIN MED. FOR SYMPTOMS AND ALSO DID ULTRA SOUND TREATMENTS. RESULTS ACCEPTABLE, BUT NO DECREASE IN PANTS SIZE. PANTS JUST FIT MORE COMFORTABLY WITHOUT NOTICABLE BULGE. BEWARE!!!

Yes, the staff is great until they get your money and you call back to report your measurements and size are exactly the same. This surgery is a complete waste of time and money not to mention the pain during and after. Your body will tingle and be numb in places even six months later. Unless you enjoy paying to get scars and new lumps on your body, don't do it.

I totally agree! its been 3 months since my smart lipo in the stomach and neck/chin area and oh my do I regret it. First off, my doctor is board certified. I was not a good candidate for smart lipo due to my stomach is damaged with stretch marks and just over stretched skin. Well, there is nooooo change at all in my stomach, none whats so ever and my chin that was not bad to begin with now has dimples/holes in the area below my chin. I am so upset at myself for wasting my time and money to look the same in one area and worse in another.

I feel you!! I had it done on my stomach and chin and I sooo wish I would have never done it!! I was not a good candidate for smart lipo in my stomach area, I should have gotten a tummy tuck. And my neck, all bad. Now I have dimples in my neck area.. i am soo dissapointed in the results or lack there of. No is noooo change in my stomack area and now i have holes in my neck area under my chin :(
