I am going to try and do FMLA. I gave the papers to the PS to fill out and submit. Will see what happens.... I am little confused on wearing a garment/binder. Does it depend on what your PS believes???? Any thoughts ladies.

crazy_cornflakes, I wanted to take 3 weeks off. What type of work do you do?? what are some of your job duties? I work in a medical office, I do a lot of walking, sitting, bending, pushing pts in wheel chairs. I would be on restrictions when I go back. for pushing pts etc. the PS told me.
Hi I started work 17 days post op after tt and boob uplift, I worked from home office based, if you work in an office you should be ok. Swelling is a pain, I am 12 weeks and still swell like mad, no it does not feel bloated your abdomen just looks pregnant lol, but I think we prob see it worse than what it actually is, your PS will advise regarding the binder, I only stopped wearing my binder and 2nd stage knickers at 11 weeks, decided it was time to let my body recover without them, they are not that bad just a bit of a nuisance until you get use to them, even with all the post op stuff and swelling I would do the surgery again without hesitation, good luck hun xx
Minnie.. I totally recommend a garment.. you will seriously LOVE it! I know I even wore mine for another 2 weeks longer than my PS recommended. He said it wouldn't hurt, so for the extra support and protection, I wore it longer. I wasn't given a binder to wear. Just a compression garment and seriously I can express enough how much it helped. I am not sure if you're having any lipo or not, but if you are, your skin will need to be compressed to be able to contour for better results. Check out my photos. My PS instructions were to wear the garment 24/7 (except to shower for the first 30 days) I just now stopped wearing it. (I am 6 weeks 4 days post TT with lipo on my flanks/back) I wish you lots of luck and remember.. there will be days when you will feel that you are bigger than before surgery due to the swelling and stuff, but each week it only gets better and better. Oh, and just so you know.. I am this far out and still not fully comfortable in my pre-surgery jeans. I have seen ladies wear their tight jeans too early and seriously some have actually indented their bodies where their jeans compressed. So, that's another reason I am not really worried about getting into jeans at this point. I will wear yoga pants until I KNOW my body is finished molding. :) We don't spend thousands of dollars to better our body only to ruin it because we become impatient. :) Read my review.. you'll learn somethings... ;)

After surgery with swelling does it feel like...

After surgery with swelling does it feel like bloating. How would you describe that feeling?

For me, I don't think it feels like bloating.. Kinda hard to explain the feeling! Bloating I would compare to when I use to get my period, uncomfortable! This swelling is, well just kinda there! No real feeling, just noticeable by looking at! Oh boy, that was alot of rambling on! :)
I agree with you Lacey3, its just there. The first 3 days its very uncomfortable!!! It's funny cause i'm 10 weeks p.o. and when i swell now i become numb in belly area. I can put my hand over belly but it's just a weird feeling not a true touch if this makes sense. Good luck!!!
I'm 16 days post op & my skin feels tight when I swell but is not too bad. I'm usually only swollen at the end of the night & by that time my whole body starts doing weird stuff like I start to hunch a little & my back starts to hurt some... it may b because I am doing everything I was doing b4 surgery. .
It was kind of like bloating for me....yeah. Honestly it felt like I was wearing a spare tire around my waist for awhile lol
Thanks for all your comments ladies!!!!
Hey IDK if you still have questions about returning back to work but IMO my dr told me 3 weeks but I only could take 10 days and it was exhausting but managble. And by two weeks I was pretty much back to doing my normal thing. I know some ladies don't have it that easy, so maybe I am lucky. But also I noticed your before pics you are pretty small and I was not like a big girl either before surgery and so I think that sorta helps to with recovery because it seems to me its less work, trauma, etc that you go through. They say ideal candidates are not overweight etc so anyways to my point 2 weeks sounds like a good ammt of time to go back to work but it does depend on exactly what you are you doing to.
