I had 325cc silicone gel implants in 2007. I liked how natural they looked but really missed small breasts. I felt they made me look heavier in pictures and never felt like a part of my body.

I had them removed September 2011 under local anesthesia and it was quick and painless. They gave me valium and it was over quickly.

I researched many doctors because my doctor had retired. Dr. Rotatori came highly reccomended from other doctors as the best.

You look lovely! Really no different than before as far as I can tell from the pics. And considering you had two surgeries, that's great! Thank you for posting your story and photos here on RealSelf.

Hi Back2Natural
I am going to have my implants removed too for exactly the same reasons as you. I worry about how I'll look after but having seen your photos and how great you look I am feeling much more positive. Like you I have silicon (310cc) and had mine done in 2006. I have found a surgeon I like and he says there is no need to remove the capsules seeing as I haven't had any problem with CC. How was the recovery - did you need to take much time off work? Thanks very much for posting your photos :)

I had the procedure on Thursday and returned to work Monday. The recovery is really easy, nothing like having them put in. I'm so glad my story helped, that is exactly why I posted it. I'm so glad I did it and I feel like myself again. Good luck!

That's very quick recovery and good to know thanks! Surgeon said he will leave capsules in and do as day case. I'm in my 40's so my skin may not shrink back so well but it'll be so nice to be me again. Thanks again and I wish you a very happy healing :)

Backtonatural,
not sure if you are still on this site but wanted to let you know you look amazing. I am having my saline implants removed in January and can only hope I look as good as you do after explantation. However, i've had mine since 1994 and have had two children during that time. Oh well, hoping for the best. Glad to hear yours went well under local as i am havng it done the same way.

I would like my implants removed too. Had them for two years and dont like them as you described. Did you find your breast sag more following surgery?
Back2Natural 4 Oct 2011
I Think they look better now then they did before implants. It has only been 3 weeks so I'm still healing. Everyone is different though.
newbaby1 4 Oct 2011
Your results are very good. Were your implants under or over the muscle? What is your breast size now?
Back2Natural 8 Oct 2011
They were over the muscle. I am a 36B, the same as before.

Thank you so much for posting Back2Natural. Experiencing terrible capsular contracture on left side. Can no longer sit straight. Always moving my side as I cannot get comfortable because it is so tight. Had implants, then did re-do as a result of capsular contracture before. This time just want them out. Will contact Dr. Rotatori. It seems much less to have them removed. Thank you so very much!

I have had my implants removed today, they look extremely deflated, yours, after just 3days look great. Were yours as I describe on day 1?? I do hope they get better because tight now they don't look like they belong on my body.
GemB 20 Oct 2011
I have had my implants removed today, right now they look very wrinkly & deflated.... Your picture just 3days post Op look great, please tell me they looked as I describe on the day of surgery?
I'm pleased I no longer have implants but right now my wrinkly deflated breasts don't even look like they belong on my body :-(
Kent5606 20 Oct 2011
Did you have quite large implants? I've heard that breast can fluff up but not having had mine removed yet I'm not really sure what that means. I hope you are feeling happier with the results soon :)
GemB 20 Oct 2011
A shocking answer but I can't remember- I had them in for just over 9yrs.
I went from a B cup to a Full C at my request, although when measured fir a bra I was measured at a D .... They weren't unsightly but much bigger than I was used to.
Just wanted confirmation that they will plump up again!.
They look a little better this morning but no major change yet.

Can anyone who's had breast implant removal advise when it's ok to begin wearing a normal bra again... ie underwired, I have a feeling I'm going to need a little assistance in the cleavage dept after my removal ;-)
flosi 28 Nov 2011
Just had mine removed after 7 years so happy. Here is what u do GemB if you want them to go up again listen: You wear a tight sports bra for 6 month overnight also but less tight you never go without support, u can wear a bra if you go out but tight for enough support. 6 month!!! You use a facial scrub on them once a week and daily apply one of your best facial creams best ones are with hyaluron acid. You put ice on them for 15 minutes first the left one than the right one everyday. Heat is bad for skin so the ice shocking therapy makes the skin tight and fresh again. If you follow these tips they will go back again but you have to follow them correctly. Nurish them. And never for the next 6 month without good support bras and tops. Best friend is my plastic surgeon. Say no more ;)))

My surgeon said to wear a stretchy supportive bra 24 hrs a day for 4 weeks. I was explanted early sept and did this. When I wanted more shape I added a gel insert.
GemB 2 Nov 2011
Thank you x
newbaby1 3 Nov 2011
I was explanted on monday. My surgeon just said where a well fitted soft bra and once scars have healed can wear whatever I want. Too be honest im finding it difficult to wear anthing at the momnet as they seem too rub on my new wounds.
Back2Natural 3 Nov 2011
I still prefer to wear the sports bra most days as the underwire does bother me. Today is 7 weeks and I am just getting used to an underwire again.
GemB 28 Nov 2011
Thanks Flosi, I'm nearly 6 wks post now and in all honesty prob haven't worn my bra to bed for a couple of wks.... After reading your msg I put it bk on last night andill continue to wear it. I was measured properly for a bra y'day .... 34a ... Little smaller than before but hey!
The improvent since my last post has been tremendous, however I still have drooped skin underneath which is causing my nipple to fold, I have been exfoliating once a week & using a bio oil (reduces scars, uneven skin etc) 3x a day since my op I also started bk at the gym 2wks ago here I wear 2x sports bra's (as I run) so far so good....... I do hope they fill out as they are currently v empty still..... Not sure the shock cold therapy will assist with this though. How are yours after your removal??

Hi gemb, i was reading your posts and was just wondering how youre doing now that it's been over two months. I am getting my saline implants removed in January and would love to hear your thoughts. How are you doing and has the adjustment been ok? Im feeling a little nervous about how i will feel emotionally after having them so long.
GemB 26 Dec 2011
Brownies123..... How long have you had your implants? I'd had mine for 9yrs and had 2 pregnancies!
I'm adjusting ok .... Not as well as I'd hoped if I'm honest, all the sites and pictures if looked through have amazing results in such a short period of time but mine are still very flat and very wrinkled, underneath my nipple. Stretch marks I can deal with but being so flat chested now and having the excess skin I'm not very optimistic about them recovering to 'pretty much like before' as my surgeon said. I suppose everyone is different but honestly ..... I'm not enjoying looking like I do now. :-( I really hope things turn out different for you x
brownies123 26 Dec 2011
I'm sorry to hear thst you are not very happy. I have had mine for 17 years and also have had two pregnancies in between. My weight has stayed the same though so hoping that helps. I dont have the greatest expectations since i have had them so long and know it will be a major adjustment. I hope you will eventually be ok with the way you look. Being older now and realizing what is really important in life makes me see that the size of our breasts does not define who you are. Hang in there and i hope we can chat some more after my big day. I go in on jan 18th.

Hi ya ll. It´s about 6 weeks post removal and I feel GREAT. Benn wearing a sports bra day and night, sometime during the day without to let them breathe;) They look better then before no joke. I love them and it was so worth it. I am nurishing them like my face now. Things I use and does magic is once a week best facial in the world with Aztec Indian healing clay, you can google it costs nothing. And over night I put stuff on from Iceland . EGF serum which had great reviews. My face looks amazing since I use them so I am using them on the delicate boob skin also. The skin on my boobs is tight and feeling great.
