Revision to resolve ridge above my incision... Scheduled for 1/10/2014

It's been a while since I updated. I've been 90% pleased with my results. However, I've had an issue with a ridge above my incision. It appears to be fatty tissue that has settled just above my incision. I went back to my docs and they have decided that some lipo should resolve the issue. My procedure is scheduled for 1/10/2014.
Has anyone else experienced this? My docs agree that I'm pretty fit and they are not sure why this occurred. I'm pleased that they are on board with trying to find a fix. The ridge is noticeable through my tight clothes... Not ideal at all. I'll add photos soon.

I'm actually 7.5 weeks post op
I started working out again :-) this makes me happy. After a roller coaster ride of excitement, remorse and regret due to all the swelling, the scar and lack of full mobility, I FINALLY feel close to NORMAL! My results are peeking through and I look in the mirror and I like what I see. Phew...

so glad you turned the corner
Thank you :-) Omg... I really had a melt down 2 weeks ago. I'm so glad to be in this mind set now. Working out with modifications. Started yesterday and my muscles are sore and it feels so good...haha.
Girl! You look hot!! What are you doing with your workouts? I'm anxious to start working out again - but also too tired to actually do anything :)
Thanks Texican :-) its been a bumpy ride, but things are starting to feel close to normal. Prior to the surgery I did P90X, Insanity and some short distance running. Now that I'm in recovery I'm doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred with some minor modifications. It's a 25 minute workout, including warm-up and cool down.
I have that. I can't imagine feeling good enough to bounce around like that again. Good to know that at 7.5 weeks I can do that. I'm thinking of starting just some basic weight training in the meantime.
I'm doing level 1 right now. The first day I felt weird doing the jumping jacks and such but pushed through. Definitely start slow. I really didn't have much energy til last week. I still get tired quicker but it gets easier as the time passes for sure. Be careful with weights. You don't want to lift too soon. I'm not using weights yet.
Hey girl! Your looking good lets see some new pics! I did it check out my pics, can't wait to hear from you..
Thanks cute grandma... Love your story... You look fab. Nothing new to report here. Still look the same. Still have swelling and tightness and a bit of a ridge just above incision that is bothersome. Hoping it will all smooth out with time.
You look great and I'm glad to hear you are coming to love your results. I'm just exactly 1 week post op and a little down. The drains are out, belly button looks great as does the scar but I have a huge pot belly that my surgeon isn't saying will necessarily all go away. I never had it before just loose skin/stretch marks. How long before you could wear your old jeans again. I'm going to be super depressed if I have to buy BIGGER clothes after this.
Hi Shady, this whole thing is a long process which includes a nice turbulent ride on an emotional roller coaster :-) some days you're excited and some you're full of questions and tears. Be patient and know what you're feeling is normal. You're only a week out, it will get better I promise. No you will not have to buy bigger clothes. I just recently started to feel comfortable in my jeans... Guess what? No muffin top...:-D drink lots of water, eat clean...no or low sodium foods and no carbonated drinks. Patience is your best medicine now. I had moments where My belly was HUGE. I cried. But lo and behold it all went down. Once you're able to work out, you'll feel so much better. Took me forever to reach a turning point. For now take it easy, walk as much as you can and rest as much as you need to.... Big hugs :-)
Thanks for the words of encouragement :) And you will probably not be surprised to hear that I'm feeling better and a bit less swollen in the mornings than just a few days ago. I've always eaten super clean (I call it modified vegan because sometimes I just have to eat the occasional animal protein), but have been drinking TONS of sparkling mineral water. Maybe time to give that up for a few weeks. Taking your advice and have been walking a few times a day which feels great to be out and moving. I also have a really great friend who hauled my rear to the beach for the day to just sit and relax which helped. I'm single and had help only that first night which I think contributes to my swelling because I HAVE to do everything myself. Can't wait to start exercising again for real. I ran half marathons and did pretty aggressive weight training prior to surgery so it's driving me nuts to be so idle. Thank you again for taking the time to send reassurances and, again, you look awesome :)
Im so glad to hear youre spirits are up. Good for you for moving and grooving :-) it helps a lot. But don't overdo it. I had help for 3 days. I'm also single and live alone. It was tough for sure. So I can definitely empathize. Listen to your body and rest as much as possible too. Thanks for the compliment ;-)
Looks great! I have a consult on August 16. Did you have a pain pump or the exparel pain shot? Also, did they supply you with a stage 2 garment or just the original binder?
Hi solesister, good luck on your consult. They are all great there. No pain pump or pain shot. However, there's more discomfort than pain. The narcotics will be a big help. I only received the binder. I bought a waist cincher for stage 2. Keep me posted on your consultation :-)
I sure will! Were you able to switch to the stage 2 garment after the drain removal or after the 6 weeks in the binder?
Oh, and sorry to be a pest....I had one more question. They told me that a senior would have to review my case after my consultation and approve it for the resident, and then I would be contacted to schedule. How long did you wait to find out if you were approved?
Hi there, hope the consult went well. The dept head approves the procedure... Your consult should have been with a senior resident. It took about 3 weeks to hear back. I switched to stage two compression after 6 full weeks.
Went great! Surgery on Nov 8th! Breast lift and TT...thanks for all of your help.
