Tummy Tuck: Stories

I think I was in within two weeks for my consult when I booked, probably even quicker. I didn't have to get referred, you just pay the consult fee. I went in for a consult on tummy tuck and breast lift and he was honest with me and said I should really get a reduction for my breast, that the lift wouldn't last and they would just bottom out again because of the size and the shitty skin elasticity I have. so he referred me to get them reduced to be covered under Manitoba Medical with another great surgeon! he could have easily taken my money and did it, but he is honest and caring without a doubt. I could have booked my surgery two weeks after my consult, but had to get work stuff arranged so I booked it for four weeks after. I had a friend who had a tummy tuck done 3 weeks before mine by Dr. Turner.....she was not happy, had nothing but problems and ended up with a big gaping hole on her side that opened up and wouldn't stop bleeding. Not once during that time did Turner see her after her surgery, it was always the nurse and she was told it was not infected and not to worry!! not the greatest after care with Turner for her anyway. I have seen Dr. Lockwood for every single follow up appointment, he cares about his work and is there each step of the way! and I love my Belly Button, it's amazing......my friends belly button from Turner, not so nice..... I hear you about the mummy tummy, it's hard to get past. I gained 84 pounds during my pregnancy, so got stretched pretty good! I honestly don't know how some women have zero stretch marks after pregnancy and snap right back to size!!

I held onto 15lbz after each of my 3 pregnancies and was stretched out so bad. I was overweight to begin with. I'm 5'6" and weigh 180 lbs right now. I just lost 32 lbs and want to lose another 45 to get me down to 135 before I'm ready for the tummy tuck. I had a breast reduction done about 10 years ago prior to kids. My surgeon then said I may want another one or at least a lift after having kids. It was all covered except the lipo they did for shaping. Thanks for responding to my questions, Dr Lockwood sounds really good and I'm pretty sure when the time comes I will choose him. You don't have to say if you don't want to but did you use a personal loan from a bank? Or one of the medical loan places? Or just save up for it? I don't think I have much of a choice but to borrow the funds when I have this done.

Actually swelling started going down quickly my first week. I was taking the Arnica tablets and eating and drinking lots pineapple juice/fruit as well grapes, cherries, anything that had natural properties to reduce swelling. It's just this last bit that is taking a little longer. I am surprised I was not swollen more since I had no drain tubes!

How are you feeling over all?

updated a couple of photos. does not look like a huge difference since 9 day, but I know I gained some weight from eating as I was bored sitting at home. but now I'm becoming active now and my weight is down 6 pounds since surgery. Starting back at hot yoga tomorrow and will see how that goes. Dr Lockwood is at www.thefirstglance.ca

I started taking the Arnica tablets a week before surgery and am continuing to take them, though I am not sure I need to.

Just realized pics didn't load, will try again. His name is Dr Anthony Lockwood, amazing doctor!!! I have friends who have gone to other doctors and not happy with the belly button. Mine is getting better every day and I just love it!!!
