Not Worth It
Spent: $3,500 in Australia
I had 4 fraxel treatments for melasma spaced 1 month apart. It has been 7 weeks since my last fraxel treatment and I have been left with more pigment spreading around the original area and extensive hyperpigmentation around other areas. The person treating me says to wait a few more months and it should lighten. I do not see how this can possibly happen as the original pigment hasn't gotten better since my initial treatment over 5 months ago so how can he suggest that the hyperpigmentation will automatically go away on its own.

Hi I also had Fraxel for Melasma. I had 5 treatments by a supposedly top Sydney dr. I am left with hyperpigmentation which is far worse than the Melasma that I hoped to treat. Also broken capillaries and enlarged pores. My last treatment was 2 years ago and I have given up hope of improvement. I have to avoid the sun as even with factor 60 sunblock and zinc stick it still makes the pigmentation much worse. I used to have a lovely olive skin and good complexion, and have always diligently taken care of my skin with sunscreen. I wish I could go back and never have had this done. DO NOT USE FRAXEL.
