Hi ladies! My recovery was going SO well. I had been taking post surgical recovery vitamins and feeling so healthy and energetic. I was off of pain meds less than 7 days out from my mastopexy/augmentation. I don't think I took my recovery as serious as I should have. The fact that I wasn't in pain and felt energetic gave me a false sense of "all is well with my body" The fact that my hubby wanted a little "attention" had me feeling a little guilty. After being such a good manny nurse to me for so long, I decided to give him some "attention"... well let me tell you...the very same day I developed a hematoma in my left breast! I did the ultimate no no by raising my blood pressure too soon! The hematoma was SOOOO painful and I thought the implant was trying to eject itself from behind my muscle. I called Dr. Farella right away and I was on the operating table to have it repaired within a few hours. I LOVE that guy! I go today to have my bandages removed. I am so upset at myself for not taking it easy as I was instructed to do. The hematoma developed (due to fault of my own :() and he fixed it right away, that is the most that you can ask of a surgeon!

I had a child 6 years ago and nursed her for just a little over a year. Before breast feeding, I was a perky B-cup and could even go braless if I wanted to :). Fast forward 6 3/4 years later I was a 34 B on one side and a 34 C on the other. I was always experiencing "spillage" from my bras because they never quite fit right. I would shy away from wearing form fitting tops because I thought I would be found out.

My husband loved my breast the way they were and told me that I shouldn't go through with any unnecessary surgery much less such a costly one. I let him know that I loved and respected him and his opinion, but this was something that I was doing for ME. I am so happy that I finally went through with the procedure!! What a confidence boost. I am only a week and 2 days out and I ABSOLUTELY love my new "friends."

My healing process was great and I have been completely prescription pain med free for 3 days!!! The first 4 days were rough, as far as being comfortable when I awoke from sleep. I was in severe pain a few mornings, but nothing a valium couldn't fix! I think the the pre-op multivitamin and Arnica pellet regimen I put myself on was definitely beneficial to my speedy recovery. I am taking post surgical multi-vitamins that I found on www.makemeheal.com. I LOVE this site. What a great resource for all things plastic surgery related. I highly recommend taking a look at all of the items that they have to aid in a healthy/safe recovery from whatever plastic surgery procedure you choose.

I get my stitches removed tomorrow and I am a little nervous. I feel like I am in a good place as far as being virtually pain free so having the Dr. disturb my breast "chi" :) makes me jumpy/antsy.

The ONLY hiccup I had with this entire process was that my skin is sensitive to surgical tape and the next day after surgery I went to have my dressings removed. The top part of the bandages were attached to my skin by surgical tape. Well, just as I was about to tell the Dr. to "be careful taking it off"....R I P... went the tape across my chest and off came the top layer of my skin along with it! :( In hindsight, I should have softened up the tape with either water or some sort of body oil, but I didn't know that 1) the bandages were about to be removed and 2) that he would remove them so quickly! So I would suggest that if your skin is sensitive to tape like mine is, please loosen your tape on your own before you go into have your dressings removed! OUCH is all I can say!

I was assymetrical and saggy due to breastfeeding my child for a year. I lacked volume and shape to my breast.

Dr. F has wonderful bedside manner, he fully explained the procedure so thoroughly that I had no questions and was completely comfortable going forward with the operation. He promised to do a good job for me and that is exactly what he did! I had a lift and an augmentation and also got a nice self esteem boost :).
