Update from 6 wks po to now
The above update was for the first 6 weeks po. This update will be from the 6 week po and thru today.
So at 6 weeks po, my ps advised me to begin to do seat crunches and crunches on the floor. Needless, to say my body at that point was very achy, tight and I was very weak. I had a difficult time first of all getting down on the floor; my hubby had to help me with yet another task. She wanted me to start to do 15 crunches and build every week from there. I was still wearing my cg and girdle and had to take it off every time I did the exercises, which honestly was not often.
I would say that for me, I started to feel more like myself at 12 weeks po. It was a very slow healing process for me. I am so impressed by all of the women that I read about here on RS doing house work at 3 days, exercising and running marathons at 4weeks po – simply amazing.
I had always considered myself a strong woman having gone through a wide range of challenges in my life, ranging from abandonment as a child to giving birth at a young age- all natural w/no epidural. I thought I was prepared for this surgery, but boy was it an eye opener. It was very difficult experience and I’ve never experienced helplessness like this before. All I could during these past 19 weeks was to embrace the pain and remind myself that I was going to come out at the end a sexy momma/granmma.
With the results I’ve seen so far in myself, for anyone out there considering this surgery it is definitely worth it. I am so in love with my new and improved body. I find myself checking myself out every time I use the bathroom or take a shower. I love that I can now wear size 8 or 10 petite clothing and lots of other sexy lingerie. I began at 164 lbs and as of today I am 136lbs. I plan on joining a local gym and taking Zumba, Pilates, and Yoga classes to maintain my new body. I am also committed to eating healthier, drinking lots of water, and never looking back. I’m no longer ashamed to show my naked body to my husband.
Because of my right incision not closing fully, I cannot wear a bra at this time and have no support. This makes me feel uncomfortable when doing any type of exercises because I can feel everything moving and it kinda freaks me out, so I’m not doing much in terms of exercises with the exception of some minimal crunches. I continue to experience a lot of swelling, but my ps has told me repeatedly that I need to do the crunches to maintain my flat tummy and to build my core. Has anyone out there been told the same by your ps? Would love to hear from you.
Also, at 12 weeks my ps told me to stop wearing both my cg and girdle and that exercising and building my core would do more for me than wearing those garments. At first, I felt like my guts were going to come out and I felt so scared and weak. I had come to feel “safe” in the cg and girdle, but I quickly got used to not wearing them. I think the hot weather helped with it. It also felt really good about not having all of the layers and can now wear smaller and fitted clothing.
Not sure if anyone out there still has nipple sensitivity, I still experience a lot of it. Also, a lot of zingers on both breast and because I don’t wear a bra, when I rise up I feel my implants move which make feel very uncomfortable. My breast are not really soft, like my daughter’s she had her BA done 3 yrs ago with the same ps. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that the implants are relatively new.
I’ll make sure to update more often- Happy healing to all the ladies in the MM club

Provider Review
Dr. Kramer
This is the same surgeon my daughter used for her BA - we were very pleased with her bed side manner and skill. I feel very confident that she will give me the flat tummy and beautiful breasts I have been longing for.
