Washington dc - male tummy tuck &- lipo the flanks

I have been browsing this site for a while. It is amazing the amount of information here. I'm 5'7 155 down from 240, I lost the weight last year and as many others here I have not been able to get rid of the extra skin no matter how much you exercise. I'm having a TT plus lipo as recomended by Dr. next Sept 11 (I will never forget the date...). I have a combination of exitement and nervousness I cant explain, I think documenting this makes me feel a bit better.

Oh thank you:)

I think most do walk hunched over for a while because of the tightness and sore lower back.  It's hard to explain the feeling but if you are able to stand straight it will help your back.  They tell you to walk straight but it's not so easy for the first couple of weeks.

6 hrs PO.Up and running, I mean walking ;). So far nothing out of the ordinary from what I read from all you guys before me. The information found here is i priceless. I guess still under the effect of the anesthesia which by the is wonderful, I talked and talkd and talked to the nurses an dont remember most of it no wonder MichaelJ liked it so much.. So, two drains, comresion gardment and walking straight... darn it I write three words and I have to correct 2. Ha ha ha. I love ir. I hope feel the same way tomorrow after sleeping face up on a reclyner. Even if no body read this s__it it fees so good dong, i guess that what they call therapy, may me wy wife has been right all these time... well too much anesthesia induced rattling/ bye

BTW I just rated "worth it"bt I guess is way to early to tell. The Dr and heir staff have been wonderful so far.

12:54 am and cant sleep, will ask the dr for some sleeping aid for to orros. Reclyner sucks big time, the only time i can say i have experience pain is getting in and out of the stupid thing. I dont know if it is the muscles what hurts or if it is the scar, i also get the burning sensation wher the tubes enter the skin. Ive walked a lot, too much according to my wife.... My Dr called to see how i was doing, that was really very nice. I asked him how much walk is too much and he said that as long i feel ok doing it there is no such a thing as too much walking. i also have some blood on the gardment and he said it was normal, same thing with the amount of liquid being emptied out of the bubbles, around 25cc every so often. Being fit really helps with the squating and some maneuvering you need to using your arms in order not to engage your core. It takes practice though. Another thing bothering me has been boredom... That is maybe why was walking so much, i wander if i will be able to do this tomorrow, the dr said that he putenough local anesthetic that it should last for 2 to 3 days and that ussually the worst days in terms of disconfort are the second and third days.

Tks for reading, i didnt mean it that way. I was trying to emphasize the terapeutic effect of writing all this down it has on myself. Also, as i found out, it might help another soul in the future going through a similar experience.
Up the hill or down the hill? ;)

Just came back from my first Dr appointment. He said everything looks good and said I could start taking showers. Second day post op and I feel fine. I guess the local anesthesia must be wearing off, I dont feel pain but I feel soreness all over the place.

So far so good. Hang in there, friday is around the corner.
It was given to me. I woke up with it around me.

Dont be scared be prepared ;) I'm a little bit hypochondriac and if it wasn't because I now what to expect and what not from all the experiences here I would probably be going nuts by now.

11 Days PO
Going back to work on monday (physically...). I have lost 3 pounds from preOp weight, dont know if it the amount of stuff they removed or I'm not eating as much as I should. Just posted new pictures, I think my PS did a great job, I'm happy with the results so far. Still there is numbness and tightness but it gets better every day. It hurts when I cough.I have been sleeping on my side in my bed for two days now, big difference. Life is returning to normal however I miss running and the gym. I can walk all I want.

That sounds great Abscape, I could describe my pain very much like what you describe. How about the tightness? It does not bother me very much but is there.

I'm 2 mos PO. The progress is amazing. The "pain" is hard to identify because it's more like a strange numbness that gets low level sore after a lot of activity. All in all my gut is gone.

The results are looking great! And back at work 12 PO - that is awesome!

Glad you are feeling good and sorry it is not going as good as you thought. Dog ears are corretable as far as I have read here. Give it some time, it might correct in time after all the swelling has come down. Take it easy.

4 weeks PO.
Soreness and swelling continues. It just there, better in the morning worse in the afternoon. Pants and seat belts bother me a lot when touching my scar, they feel like they are over tightened but they really are not, they are barely touching. You may think i'm crazy, but the hair in my belly hurts! I guess is the continues pressure of the compression shirts i'm wearing but it hurts when I pull the hair or rub my fingers over.

Hey MaleTT - I am in week 3 PO and I know exactly what you mean about the 'tightness' of things.. I have been back at work for 3 days and my suit pants feel like they are chocking me! But like you, they are not. :) I am guessing it is all apart of the healing process.

Hi npkd, glad to hear you are doing good and back to work. It is amazing how things go back to normal when at some point you were feeling so much like crap. Have you noticed any weight loss? Im about 7 pounds less from PO weight.

Seven months PO I feel great and like if nothing had ever happened until I look myself in the mirror. I think the Dr did a great job with the TT however the lipo did not workout very well. Last visit to the Dr he said he could do extra lipo but at full prize i will not even consider it.

You look great. I am 5 months post op and I too am not happy with my flanks. I would like more lipo as well. I think by now any swelling would be minimal if any. I am going to speak with my doctor next appointment to see what he suggests. Your scar looks good too. Thanks for the updates:)

thank you runawaybelly. Other than the flanks Im very happy with the results. May be next year I will go for it but with a different Dr.

One year update!

Cant believe it has been a year already. All I can say inow is that it was all well worth it. I feel great and I love the results. The scar is still visible in some parts and has faded in others, i have a lot of hair so it is ok, I suppose it will kee on getting better. The only issue I still have is my flanks that still do not look good but I can live with that. latest picture is included.

I am 14 months PO but did not have flank lipo during TT. next week I am finishing what I started by having a posterior lipectomy. My incision will be circumferential. The belly is nice and flat which exaggerates the flanks and there is still sagging skin from weight loss above and below the butt, so basically I'm having a backside TT but there will be no muscle work so it's less expensive, less time, and no overnight hospital stay.

I was offered to have done the same procedure together with the TT but I declined. May be I should have done it. Like you I have extra skin above and below the butt. Are you starting a new review for this procedure? I would love to see how it goes. How are your going to call it? buttspace? ha ha ha
I meant to say buttscape
Washington Plastic Surgeon

Very please we the results so far. The Dr and the staff are really great. Tummy Tuck I am very pleased with the results, with the lipo of the flanks not so much. He offered to do some extra lipo but he wants to charge me full prize and that to me is unacceptable.
