1 year update

I'm still loving being glasses/contact free it's been a year and my vision had not shifted or changed. I have noticed my eyes are a little more sensitive to light but sunglasses help with that! I would highly recommend d anyone that has vision issues to look into LASIK. I should have done it years ago!

1year later

So it's been a year since my LASIK and I am so glad to report I'm still loving it!!! It has been so nice not having to deal with contacts and glasses. I did have a bout with getting a little bit of dry eye, which since I am at a computer all day it causes eye strain, so I have drops at my desk when they start to feel tired.

I have worn glasses pretty much my whole life. I...

I have worn glasses pretty much my whole life. I changed to contacts way back and have always had issues with them, from not fitting properly to bad prescription, to changing to gas permiables. On top of my near sightedness I had Astigmatism. GEE THANKS PARENTS! LOL. All kidding aside, my eyesight was horrible! I am a very active person, love the outdoors, so trying to swim, ride quads, play sports etc. it was a real pain trying to lead a "lens free lifestyle" So i started doing alot of research on Lasik, i have to admit it was very scary! You read good stories, bad stories then the horrifying ones. I knew many people that have had the procedure and they loved it. So after many years of contemplating and interviewing a ton of doctors, i decided to have it done.

I met with my Doctor on March 11th and he not only made me feel extremely comfortable, his whole staff was very knowledgeable and compassionate. After numerous tests, I made the decision to have it done. My main concern was the astigmatism, the doctor was shocked that i had it so bad. My question to him was, will i have to wear glasses in 5 years or less to read? He mentioned Mono Vision, which is near sighted n my left eye and far sighted in my right. I wasn't to sure about it but after thoroughly explaining what would take place and i wouldn't have to wear glasses again, I was all for it!

My appointment was on March 28th, 2 weeks after my initial exam, and i was nervous to say the least. Again, the Dr and his staff made me feel extremely comfortable. The whole procedure lasted under an hour and i was walking out the door. The Doctor talks to you the whole time and lets you know what to expect. The best part, NO PAIN!

After the numbing solution wears off, it does hurt a little but nothing to bad, just be sure to follow the doctors orders. Which is basically go home and take a nap for a couple hours. I was watching television 6 hours after the procedure, your eyes will be a little sensitive to light but thats about it.
