41 Year Old, Had Subcision with Fat Transfer on Both my Cheeks - Vadodara, India

One month after the procedure
$300
After one month, I am satisfied with the results on parts that had subcision + fat grafting done. I can still feel some lump on the areas with grafted fat. However the lumps are getting smaller by the day and that means the grafted fat is turning into subcutaneous fat slowly.
But it sucks to still see a noticeable depressed area on my right cheek. The one that I noticed right after the surgery and doctor told me to not worry about the results right away. Basically that area was neither subcised nor any fat was grafted underneath. Just because of that my overall satisfaction with the results is somewhat discouraging.
The good news is, I can get that scar fixed next time. The bad news is it would cost me more. Since I am moving to USA next month, it would cost me a lot more now because I would have to pay in US dollars instead of Indian rupees.
I still have tons of ice pick scars and few deep box scars. But I am still happy because my complexion has improved with the regular use of those gels and lotions that was prescribed by my doctor.
Posting some pics with different angles. Intentionally shot these pics in poor lighting to show the scars. In good lighting, a lot of these scars are not visible.

I think you look absolutely marvelous & I'm so happy that you are feeling more confident regarding your skin now. I'm sure you will be able to find a physician in your new area in the US to help you fully complete your journey without breaking the bank! It seems like most of the major work is complete, so perhaps it will just take something minimal to get the final results that you are seeking? Best wishes on your upcoming relocation!

I am a 30 year old male. I am thinking of going to Dr Shah in connection with adding volume to my mid face by fat grafting. I have always been apprehensive about the formation of lumps after the fat grafts have been placed. Also I wonder why the doctor left out the depression on the right cheek. I hope if I am not happy with the result, it can be reversed.

My lumps are not noticeable now and getting smaller. The complete healing time for fat grafting is 3 months.
Not sure why the doctor left out that area in my right cheek. Probably because he did not mark all the areas that needed subcision prior to the surgery and it was overlooked during the surgery.
Fat grafting can be reversed. I like my doctor and would recommend him for any fat transfer.

When you compare with price in US it will of-course be inexpensive in India. Many people from western countries do come to India for cosmetic surgery as its cheaper even when the travel and living costs are added.

Third week after the Subcision with fat grafting
1. About 25 % of the fat grafted seems to be absorbed by my body so far. I expect to retain about 60 to 70% of the grafted fat.
2. The sunken look of my face because of huge depressed area on both my cheeks looks a bit plump now.
3. The acne scars (ice pick and box scars) which were not visible due to the swelling seems to be coming back.
4. I still see a depressed area on my right cheek. This is because that area was not operated (subcision+fat graft) by my doctor. When I asked him about it right after the procedure, he told me I should not worry about the results until 6 weeks.
I guess so far, I see about 80% improvement on my rolling scars. However there is almost no or minimal improvement on other type of scars.
I would post pics later this week.

Kindly, update after at least 8 to 10 weeks as they the healing process will almost end there. I have worst of these scars on both my cheeks and adjoining area of neck and also plan to go for the same subcision+fat transfer next month, but after your comments on the treatment's final results.

I am very interested in an update after 2 years have passed. I am planning to have a subcision + fat grafting procedure but still on the fence about it. Did you face "keep" much of the injected fat or was a lot of it absorbed by the body? Also did the fat transfer cause any skin irregularities? Thank you very much.

Hey brother.. How long was your treatment.. i mean the complete procedure.
Thank you.
Thank you.

It lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes. I had to rest for about 4 hours before I was allowed to go out. I could walk by myself after the procedure. But I had an hour of consulting a day prior to the procedure.

One week after the Subcision with fat graft
Swelling seems to be totally gone. I can still feel the lumps over my face where the fat is grafted. However most people can't see 'em unless they pay extra attention.
The pic here is taken from a low resolution camera. I think this is how I look from a reasonable distance when people can't notice the details. The pics taken from a good camera still picks up the scars including the minor lumps over my cheeks.
The creams I have been applying over my face seems to have started helping improve my complexion. However, I still have a lot of discoloration and pigmentation over my face and I expect it to improve in the coming weeks.
Will post more pics next week.

You're a handsome man now dam i wanna be like you !

first of all you had a great improvement so congrats for that . second i wana to know are still holding that fantastic results, coz sometimes its due to microswelling and after a week or two when the swelling goes we end up with the same scars which we used to have earlier.

That is my concern as well. Will keep this post updated so that we would all know how effective this procedure is in the long run.
I think you look wonderful, thank you for sharing your results so far. Lighting can really make a difference on the way we see our scars, sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself in the side view mirror while driving my car and it's the worst light ever, but then I remind myself that it doesn't normally look that bad, it's just the lighting.
