So 4 and a half months in and finally I am healed, scarring is a little uneven and I have some thickening above the scar that looks like I have something in my pockets but I don't care now that this ordeal is finally over. It truly has been the worst 4 months of my life but I no longer have a growth so I am happy with that!

Today I got discharged by my consultant ...... I never have to go back to hospital to see him hoorah! I am still under the care of the tissue nurses and the wound is now under 2cm long and about 1cm deep. I have a flat tummy now, which is a bonus but more importantly I no longer have a growth in my stomach. I have some thickening along the scar but I don't mind that much.... No one but me will see it! So..,. 3 and a half months down the line, I am happy to say that it may have been worth the struggle.

Week 8 as of today. The antibiotics appear to have done their job. I don't feel Unwell anymore. The discharge from the wound is still heavy and I have had to resort to using Hypafix directly on the wound and then a sanitary towel over that, secured with micropore to absorb any leakage. I am going back to work in 5 days, I am hoping that my lack of energy will not be a problem.
The wound is healing but I may need a further surgery to assist with pulling the incision together.
I still feel pretty miserable and I am still not sleeping well, but I am not in pain now, which is a plus.
I don't get to see my PS until w/c 14th January 2013, and I hope that by that time I will see a marked improvement in my physical and mental health. This person is really not me!

Hi
I just read ur story an I was wondering how things are now, I had TT on 10 jan an I'm hoping to go back to work in 2 days, have u found going back very difficult? I had my surgery in Prague, there was a lot of uk ladies there! I am British also btw.
Hi babyraf, well I am 11 weeks in now, still have a large 'chronic wound' in my stomach, however I think that I have finally found a team that understand dressings and wound care. My PS did not have expertise in this area, although a top rate surgeon. I am pleased with the results in general but will be happier when I have healed and get my energy levels back. I did not return to wok for 8 weeks due to various infections, but when I did go back I worked shortened days for two weeks. That really helped me to get back into the swing of things. I just found it totally exhausting and still have days where everything is an effort. However I am encouraged by the threads I read on this site. They have kept me positive and focused. Good luck for your return to work, but if you are not ready then return when you feel ready to.
Hi an thanks for replying so soon, you really have been thru the mill hey! I hav developed a seroma right in the middle of my scar, there is a hole there that the fluid /blood is draining from, not very nice but ill be glad wen it's finished an I can just concentrate on getting back to normal! Iv had a few days when iv regretted doing this but after botched lipo last June I really had to do something. Not looking forward to going back to work but I work for myself and need to get back, I hope u continue to improve, spring is just around the corner so maybe that will giv us all a lift!!
Let me know how you get on with the working ..... Roll on spring!
Hi there, how's things ?
Well I returned to work last wk! Finding it hard later in the day but I'm getting by. The seroma I had has almost dried but leaking a little each day I too had an allergic reaction to tablets and I hav had to change them twice now. Getting fed up with it as I'm supposed to be going away in three wks. ! How's it going with u, do u feel u have finally healed and r u happy with ur result ?
Hi babyraf, well I am now at the 3 month stage, I have a much smaller wound now, only 2cm across the centre of my scar. this has healed so much since I have had the right care and dressings. I feel tons better in myself, although I still have some swelling to go down. I am sure that in the long term I will be happy with the results, my stomach is flat and the scar is fading from my tummy, not from my head though lol.
I am not surprised you are finding the days at work hard later in the day. It is a really big op and takes a long recovery. I hope you really enjoy your time away, you deserve a break.I am hoping to bare all as it were in Tunisia in June, might even get into a bikini who knows?
That's sounding good about ur scar!
U better start bikini shopping then if ur going away in June! Iv asked docs on here if its ok for me to go away and be in the sun after my TT, (im going on a criuse with my best mate)they all seem to say keep the scar well covered so keep a eye on it wen u go.
I really can't believe how most of the US ladies on here actually go home hours after their procedures, I was almost in a coma fir hours after my TT ! Spk soon hey.
I know - mind you I discharged myself after 3 days, had shocking treatment in John Radcliffe. speak soon
