Hi I have been wanting a tummy tuck for over 20...

Hi I have been wanting a tummy tuck for over 20 yrs, just never had the money. Finally get to see a PS 16th October 2012, surgery pencilled in for 21st January 2013 - met few ladies who have had surgery with him (Mr Murphy - Spire Hospital Whalley Range Manchester) results are amazing. Lost 56lbs 2yrs ago with weight watchers, kept within 7 lbs of my weight for 2yrs, so time now to get rid of the belly. I walk 12 miles 4-5 times a week, eat healthy so physically cannot do anymore, I will put pictures up at a later date. x

4 Weeks today I go to see Mr Murphy on countdown now, rather excited. xx

Well folks time is ticking over nicely, 1 week on Tues now until my PS consultation, Hubby wants me to ask about possibly doing breast implants at the same time, we will see, all depends on what the recovery will be like just with the tummy tuck alone. Getting excited now, just want to know how he will do the surgery and what he expects my results to be. Still eating healthy, and walking 6-12 miles every day, weight has stayed the same now for 2 yrs so do not really expect anymore weight loss but at least my old ticker will be getting fitter with all the walking. Will update 1 week on Tues. xx

Excited matoplexy and full tummy tuck booked for 21st Jan 2013 with Mr Murphy at Spire Manchester - consult went great said he would not recommend implants they would look too big - said I was ideal candidate for tummy tuck on count down now x

Counting down now to surgery, Egypt for hols 17th Dec, then 3 weeks after we get back surgery. Trying to lose just a couple of pounds before the surgery. Was at 158 pounds 2 weeks ago, trying to get to 154 before surgery, this is the lowest I can get to. Winter nights on the way now in the UK so it will be some dark night walking for me I think x

Met my lovely Realself friend Ayshea tonight for the first time she brought me a wonderful gift a toilet seat riser, such a fantastic idea, can't wait to use it. She shown me her results I am amazed, counting down now to my surgery seems an age away 21st Jan 2013 x

Managed to take a kind of a picture so hard to take one of yourself with your phone. 7 Weeks on Monday and it will be gone, counting down the days now. Egypt 2 weeks on Monday then when we get back just over 3 weeks to my surgery date. Tummy looks absolutely awful on a picture, I now know why I am doing this even though some folk I have told have been making snide remarks. I have decided I do not have to explain myself to these negative people. xx

Had an awful morning, felt so sick, cold sweats put it down to coming off the tramadol, went back to bed until 1.30 pm, up now feel as right as rain, ate some toast and some digestive biscuits, had a good wash hubby cleaned bb, first time he has seen belly, he is amazed even with the swelling, he has not really seen the boobies, he will see them tomorrow when I have a shower xx

Hi been to see the nurse today, brown weeping from my belly button and the smell was awful. All ok no infection the blood has to come out somewhere she said and it finds a way through the tummy button. Have to leave binder off for half hour when showered and let the air get to the tummy button. Then re dress with gauze and sticky. I have posted a piccie, still in swell hell xx

2 weeks post op

Finally turned a corner 5 pounds down in weight, that will be the 5 pounds that was removed, so just swelling to go now, feel much stronger and doing a little in the house, light duties, polishing and wiping kitchen surfaces. xx

18 days post op

Started working at home yesterday, all going well, managed a 2 mile walk at lunch time with Hubby, walked slow, seem to be a little more hungry today, probably because I have been out in the fresh air.

Bought some new shapewear from recoverpostsurgery.com here in the UK, panties are a lot better than the normal shapewear you can buy. Been wearing them today great support, back in my binder now ready for bed later.

Fell little more tired tonight, so may be an early night watching t.v in bed, but don't you get fed up of sat on your bum all the time lol.

I am working from home all next week and my boss said I can take a further week at home if I wish so we will see how it goes. I thought that was very kind of him.

Boobies are looking good now, bruising nearly gone and just one a little bit bumpy but tons better. Hubby will take more picture tomorrow when I have a shower and remove my tapes ready for him to put new ones on. xx

19 days post op

All well managed a 2 mile walk again, managed some ironing very slowly, back to cooking but only re heating meals at the minute that I had frozen. Hubby soing all the heavy work. Tired last night after working Thurs/Fri at home, so resting lots today and tomorrow. New piccie added before and after cannot believe how bad the over hang was xx

23 days post op

Well 23 days post op now, doing most things around the house apart from hoovering, changing beds and any heavy stuff. Managing to walk 4 miles now outside. Tummy feels so much better today not as tight, think I am getting more feeling in the tummy too. Weighed and was 145 pounds, 6.5 pounds down from pre surgery, happy with that as PS removed 5 pounds of loose skin. Hopefully once I get back to normal exercise I may get down to 140 pounds that is my goal, I will quit the weight loss then and hopefully maintain. I am glad I have passed the 3 week mark, I think you you turn a corner at this point. Standing fully straight now so that is good. Keep trying to sleep on my side but that is not happening, does not feel comfy at the minute so still sleeping on my back. Still working from home, I will return to the office 1 week on Monday. Happy healing ladies, this it the best thing I have ever done even though the recovery can be a rollercoaster at times xx

27 days post op

Had to tape the tape off my tt incision last night, it has started to irritate my skin, I will see what Mr Murphy advises when I see him on Monday. Small area between nipple and skin has not quite knitted together so I will see what he says about that too, trouble with me I notice the slightest little thing maybe I should not look into too much detail lol. Have to have a rest day today hubby said, I cleaned the house yesterday but took my time, and managed another walk last night just short of 5 miles. I slept in a little longer this morning until 9.00 am and I have been sleeping on my side a little, does start to hurt after a while so I end up back on my back, and it feels so odd I have no tummy to support me when I am on my side. I think the swelling is going down day by day. 1 more week working at home then back into the office a few days a week. Lovely sunny day here in the UK today which is nice, even though it is still cold. Happy healing ladies. xx

31 days post op

Managed a 10 mile walk last night. In swell hell now, so resting up today. Had my 4 week check on Tuesday, Mr Murphy is pleased with the results, said I can go for it now with the walking. I had a slight irritation on my scar and the boobies around the nipple, nurse removed small stitch from each and all is well now.

I will try another 10 mile walk again on Saturday, freezing cold here in the UK today. I go back into the office on Monday, been working from home since post op day 17 so looking forward to having someone to chat with lol.

Hope you pre and post op ladies are all doing well.

6 weeks 1 day post op

Well recovery is going well, up to 12 mile walks, down to 142 pounds. Still having the odd twinge in tummy from muscle repair and swelling not fully gone. Boobies still bit tender but shape is getting better.

So pleased I am now 6 weeks post op cannot believe how fast the time goes. Had my first bath today, have been taking showers and it felt good lol. Refraining from buying new clothes until tummy has stopped swelling, all my clothes are way too big including my tops and coats.

To any pre-op ladies do not be afraid of the surgery, it is not as bad as you think and is very manageable after with the correct after care and recovery time. xx

6 weeks 6 days

yikes how fast has the time gone, still getting swelling but managing to get on with most things, walking 12 miles a couple of times a week and 4-6 miles a few times per week. No heavy lifting but back doing all the housework. Still gettting the pulling sensations and tight feeling from muscle repair. Skin still feels like sandpaper to touch, but all in all doing well. xx

8 weeks 4 days post op

Been to see PS Nurse today, been getting pain in upper abs, it is as I though it was a stitch irritating the muscle, so now is a waiting game for the stitches to either dissolve or behave lol. Apart from that all is well xx

9 weeks 1 day post op

Wow the time sure does fly by, stitch in muscle seems to be ok for n ow, I have been wearing the binder again in the evening, seems to help with the swelling, shame the swelling has to appear around lunch time lol. Can't wait until it finally goes. Back to walking now, managing 11 miles so pleased with that. Need to book a walking holiday and get some serious walkign done. Hope pre and post oppers are all ok xx

Well I will be 12 weeks post op this Monday where...

Well I will be 12 weeks post op this Monday where does the time go. First day yesterday without any compresison or shapewear, swell hell by late evening but decided I will try and go without any compresssion, I think our bodies get fed up of the support wear after a while. Need to get by abdominal muscles working lol. Back to speed with most things, still watching what I am lifting. Back to walking up to 12 miles. Tiredness seems to be a killer at the moment, by 9.30 pm I am ready for bed. The recovery is certainly a rollercoaster. Down to 142.5 pounds so think this is my weight now, happy with that as in a size 10 uk size trouser. Having problems going to the toilet still, so my GP has told me to take lactulose (Stool softener) each day, she said it could be due to the muscle repair. Hope you are all well. Appointment with PS in 4 weeks time. Have 2 slight dog ears so hopefully these will be taken care of. xx

14 weeks post op yesterday. Binder ditched will have to put up with the swelling can't get in my head the over hang has gone still feel fat some days Weight up and down few pounds either way. Still walking some nights and weekends up to 12 miles. Tiredness not getting any better for some bizarre reason. Fully back to normal work wise etc. Can't believe how fast recovery has gone. See PS in 2 weeks. Boobs fab no problem whatsoever with them. Can still feel internal stitches under tt scar. Will take new piccies at weekend x

Just seen your PS pics, wow! What a transformation! You look great, I bet you are so happy x
Look at you! What a fantastic transformation! I'm going to have to ask my PS if I can get my before pics! You are looking better and better! I'm so happy for you!
Hi you look fantastic such a great shape. I am also from the UK and have booked for 11th July at Spire Portsmouth. So so nervous I weigh 126 pounds at the moment at 5.4 inches think that is ok. Worried about wind and bowels. Is it bad? Or just uncomfortable. Recovery seems quite long my consultant says it takes a good month and swelling up to six months. Think he is doing a little lipo too. Hope nice low scar. Yours looks great. Well done.
Hiya hun wind should not be too bad as they are not going into your abdominal cavity only re draping skin etc. I still take lactulose. Recovery is more a nuisance than anything. Mainly because movement is restricted. But recover soon passes. Swelling can be a pain but all si much worth it. You will be fine not as bad as you think. X x
Thanks for that. Do let me know how you are doing. Did you have lipo? Did they do just tummy and hip area? Seeing consultant on the 5th with my hubby. Hope to have all my questions ready. I think you look so so good. You must be delighted. Well done.
Hiya no lipo PS said he would see if I needed any during op. He said non was needed which I am glad about to be honest. I am starting the juice plus diet next week only want to loose a couple of pounds then I am done. Tt is not as bad as you think I had hysterectomy 11 yrs ago and pain from that was much worse. Tt is more of a nuisance lol. Hubby comes to all my PS appointments I think it's nice when they are involved. Keep me posted x x
Wow you look amazing!! Xx
those pics from your surgeon just sums it up for me... fan-bloody-tastic! x
aw thanks hun makes it all worth while when you see them, hope you are ok xx
Good to hear the swelling is getting better, you look great! X
Hey Jane you are looking awesome, you must be so happy Tx
Hot stuff!!
smexy lady, smexy belly! I agree with dragonfly... just fantastic! x
Look at your waist!!! I'm so jealous! You look fantastic and your scars are almost invisible! I'm so happy for you! I will update on Monday!
thanks hun I am sure your tummy looks as good as mine, swelling gong down a lot now finally, but still appears when I have been walking damn lol xx
Hey jane looking forward to seeing your new pictures, glad your swelling is getting better. Tx
You look great!!! Your ps did a great job!!! Did you get only a lift? Thinking about getting a lift but scared lol.... how silly of me !
Hiya Janeellie! I've joined!! Just had another look through your pics, you are looking so good! Can't wait to see the next updated ones. I noticed that you lost a stone or so in the first 6weeks... what an achievement! I am still at my pre op weight and can't seem to shift it... but I haven't been as active as you either...lol! Gonna have to get my walking shoes on! xx
Hiya welcome hun on real self. They reckon do not weigh yourself for a good few months as swelling can add extra pounds. I am just a few pounds off 5 stone in total since my weigh loss journey 3 yrs ago feel so much better for it. Hubby is taking piccies tomorrow morning I will post then. Hope you are well x
Hi Jane you are looking fab can't wait for your pic update. I know what you mean on the tired front, i spend a lot of time being tired. I have been back at the gym for a while now, it must disappear soon, i am hoping it will anyway.
You look awesome!
Your looking great. X
Hi Jane, you look great, that scar is healing beautifully! X
Thanks hun. More pictures being taken this coming week 13 weeks post op tomorrow swelling seems to be going down a little bit more hope you are well x
Lookin great, surgery twin! It's hard to be out of compression, but you will get used to it. I'm within about 10lbs of my pre-surgery lifting weight. (Not that it was that high, I would do about 55 lbs in rowing or lateral pull downs, so don't be too impressed!). I'm still completely impressed you walk so much! Holey moley! I'm hoping my weight will get down to 150 on the scale and then I will be done. I think it's a good # for me. You look fantastic! So happy you are doing well! I go back to my PS next Wednesday. I'm sure I will post something about it!
