What can I say about Dominic Bray, that hasn't...

What can I say about Dominic Bray, that hasn't been said before? Sounds like the first line of a song... And I can really sing his praises! I was just incredibly lucky when a close friend of mine asked me to be her companion for a night in a hotel in London.....She was going to have a facelift.... and the name of her surgeon.... Dominic Bray.... aka 'Face God' . Actually, he behaves just like a normal human being but has special talents when it comes to operating on faces :) As her companion, I saw the whole procedure, from the sidelines, so to speak. There was no doubt in my mind from that moment on that my long wished for procedure was going to become a reality.... now that I had found the person into whose talented and skilled hands I would entrust my face.... Nifty Blades of Bray. There is no doubt that Cosmetic Surgery on your face is a big deal. A huge investment of time, money and trust... some discomfort and pain along the way, and always a degree of risk. If you are going to going ahead I cannot recommend Dominic and his team highly enough... to minimise the risk and discomfort and get an amazing outcome.

He is an incredibly skilled surgeon, and yet is personable, friendly, chatty, honest and puts you completely at your ease. At my consultation (no fee) he explained exactly what would give my the best result...I had a face and neck lift and upper and lower eyelids (from within the lower lid) and laser resurfacing under the lids to help the excess skin contract. His aim is always for a younger, fresher version of yourself.... which is exactly what I wanted. I didn't tell anyone except my family and my companion....yep... my friend gladly returned the favour :) Hence, no photos of me on here I'm afraid

There was no pressure to sign on the dotted line. He gave me the information and advised me to go away and have a long, hard think about it.

It didn't take me too long to decide and booked my day

I followed the pre op diet, medication and lifestyle advice exactly... If you do as you as told, you will get the best possible result... You are an important part of the team!

Sometimes it's hard to believe that I had all my surgery under local anaesthetic, but I did and it was fine. The twilight sedation worked a treat. The team was so professional throughout. I kept Miles, the anaesthetist, on his toes with some blood pressure issues, whilst Lucy, Dominic's amazing PA massaged my feet and toes!

It was amazing not having to deal with the the effects of a full anaesthetic. I was popped in a cab with my companion two minutes round the corner to the hotel. I started icing immediately. Dominic came to see me in the hotel that evening to check all was well. The following morning I walked back to the clinic, had my bandages off, hair gently washed, laser treatment on the bruising and a 'face bra' fitted.

The next few days weren't easy... I was sore (only took paracetamol though), sleeping on my back was very difficult for me as a side sleeper and I really hated that 'face bra'....but I stuck with it because I was told too! Dominic and team were in regular contact and couldn't have been more helpful.

My healing was fast and regular follow up visits at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and a year, meant that I was checked every single step of the way

Dominic had advised me that the lower eyelid surgery from within ( transconjuctival) plus laser, might not completely remove my considerable bags! It didn't and I subsequently had a skin pinch excision earlier this year, to remove the excess skin. This was again under local anaesthetic, at no extra cost and the result is top class... no visible scar or ectropion (pulling down of lower eyelid)

So now some 16 months after my initial surgery, I now have a face that looks like I feel inside. Me, only younger. Some would say that 50 is too young for a face lift. However, it's about treating the face not the age of the person. The results sometimes look more dramatic in the older patients, but I have prefered 'catching the problem before it happens' . Surgery can turn back the clock but won't stop the ageing process. Botox, fillers and skin treatments can also be used with great effect. I'm just really glad that Dominic is younger than me and will still be working (I hope) when I need the next one ready to face my 60s!

Thank you Dominic and your wonderful team for a job well done.
