Hi I'm a 26 year old female from Sydney Australia. I have two beautiful children a big boy who is 5 and a little girl who is. 17 months, I love my kids to but I don't love the belly that I have . Before I had my son I was only 50 kg in the end of my pregnancy I was nearly 80 I never got back down to my pre baby weight with my daughter I went from 66kg to 83 . I'm now at 66kg.

My tummy is horrible I got stretch marks all over it, they even go up to nearly under my arm ( I got theses from my 1st pregnancy.) Well I'm really exited to say I'm booked in to have my TT done in august :-) yay I would love to here any advice or stories.

Ok I have been reading other peoples reviews and I see most people had drains in for quite sometime . My PS told me I will have then in for 2 to 3 days while I'm in hospital , I'm worried that I'm going to take longer to heal or will have a lot more fluid or swelling. I'll bring this up with him at my pre op

I just found out that my health fund will cover my hospital stay and part of the doctors fees and Medicare will also cover some of the doctors fees and I can also claim 20% of my tax next year. So I think out off pocket I'll be 3900 which is bloody fantastic :-) also have finally picked a wedding day in feb 2012 so hopefully I will be well on the way to recovery,

Had my pre op to day and my dress fitting. My pre opp was great the doctor said my scar will be a little bit higher the the normal but I don't mind I just want the best possible result , plus I have to have muscle repair and repair of umbilical hernia. I'm also having a bit of lipo.
I'm a bit worried about the swelling after specially on how it's going to effect my wedding dress, I'm getting a couture dress so it's made to fit me, but the dress will be most likley finished before Christmas I just hope it all works out I'm starting to stress about I just hope the sweling does not have a big impact on the dress and how it fits.
Hopefully it will all work out
I will post some photos I'm trying to find the courage to put them up

Well not long now a week from now I had all my bloods done have not smoked for 4 weeks ( so proud of) bought extra pillows For home. The only thing is I think I have pre op blues , I keep thinking is it going to be worth it , the quilt not just about the money but on how the recovery is going to effect my family, and when I first decided to have the TT done I was more positive specially on how I would handle the pain now. I really don't know why I'm feeling like this I should be all exited Has any one else had these emotions?

Does any one know how to upload photos from a iPhone ?

5 days post op I have one drain still in my thoughts so far.
Not sure about the result yet
The pain is more uncomfy but still takes a lot out of me.
Trying to keep in front of pain meds this I'm religious with and eating 20 min before taking them is a must
I'm still very hunched over ( this I think is causing most of my discomfort )
The worst bit of the whole experience is the 4 day hospital stay

Hi Kitty - good luck for your TT. I am 5 days post op and I only my drains in for 3 days. I was also surprised by the length of time the average person here had their drains in but as everyone is different, it would be hard to determine exactly what is the norm. I have no regrets so far, you are lucky you still have youth on your side. I wish I had had the money to do mine 10 years ago. Realself has been a great site to get feedback and advice and it is great to be surrounded by people who have been through the same experiences. Try to stay positive and focus on your end goal. It is by no means an overnight result and as long as you are mentally prepared you will be fine. I look forward to following your progress and it is nice to see someone from OZ here :) All the best.

Congratulations Robyn on your surgery I hope your recovery go's well and is quick . Thank you for your advice on the drains , I'm trying to do as much research as possible to the lead up before surgery so I have the best recovery possible. I think this sight is fantastic it's great that we can all share our experience to people from all around the world.
Please keep me posted about your recovery

Hi, another Aussie here! I am 8 weeks post op and even though I will need to have a small revision, it is still the best thing I did and wish I had done it years ago. good luck with your surgery, not long now.
kittycrago 28 Jul 2011
Thanks Koolka8, im very exited can't wait to have a flat belly, how long were you in hospital for? Some doctors say 5 my ps said I'll be there for 3 days wondering if that's enough time
Koolk8 28 Jul 2011
Hi Kitty, I was in for 6 nights but mainly because my hospital and PS were 5 hours from were I live so my ps wanted me close. I am so glad I was there for the first 3 days, I dont know how so many of the ladies on here go home right after the surgery. But by day 4 I was so over it and just wanted to come home so I think 3 days will be just right for you.
