Dr. Comstock has been my "go to" dermatologist for...

Dr. Comstock has been my "go to" dermatologist for the past 20 years. My youthful appearance I owe primarily to her, due to her cutting edge but conservative approach to fillers, lasers, facelifts, etc. However, she revealed her incredible expertise to me a hundred fold after I fell on the left side of my face and sustained something akin to blunt force trauma. My internist, an ENT and a plastic surgeon all evaluated the CT scan of my face: no fractures, edema, and a large hematoma. Days after the fall the left side of my face started to fall and my left lip would not move or smile though the right side of my face was functioning perfectly. Even the plastic surgeon looked at the facial drooping and said it would take months before I knew whether the asymmetry would resolve. Very black and blue and furious and scared, especially after spending $$$$ on my face over the years, I called Dr. Comstock's office. She saw me that afternoon, immediately began massaging the very large hematoma ("please do NOT do this yourself she admonished!") and told me that the hematoma had formed something like a dental block to the left side of my face; hence, the drooping. "This will all resolve and you will gain back the movement in your face." I practically cried. Meanwhile, being the vain person that I am (!) I focused on the aesethetics as the right side of my lip and mouth were, indeed, much "perkier" than the left. She injected a "mini voluma" in the fulcrum of the right side, which rendered that area a bit more relaxed and similar to the left. I used tons of arnica, some heat treatments (the Genesis laser), massaged the area and waited. Four months later I look pretty much the same. I still marvel at her incredible confidence and genesis as a physician. How did she know so early on that the hematoma would resolve, the dental block so to speak would dissipate and that normal movement would eventually return to my face. I've known Dr. C a long time, including the days when she did straight medical dermatology. Her passion is aesthetics but her straight derm knowledge is still very much there. As a long standing patient I was fortunate to take advantage of her gifts and I know it very much contributed to the healing process. Thank you!

Dr. Comstock is compassionate, confident and a trend setter in the field of aesthetic dermatology. She has injected Scultra into parts of my anatomy that would surprise the average dermatologist. I am old, but look youthful and much younger than my years. I have friends and family in LA and San Diego. They, too, have searched for the best in their areas. I've seen them over the years and the work on their faces do not compare to Dr. Comstock.
