17 Days Post Op Pictures Added Still Not Sure About Symmetry

After viewing other peoples profiles and...

After viewing other peoples profiles and experiences, which I found to be very helpful and motivating. I decided that it was time for me to post my story. I've always had extremely large breast and have had trouble finding bras that fit me. Over the years (I am 40) I've learned to embrace my breasts and even used them for my advantage. But as the years went by they just get got bigger and bigger and keep getting lower. At this point I am not sure what size they are anymore but I used to be a 36DD. I love working out and going to the gym, however when I run on the treadmill I have to wear 2 bras. My regular one and sports one on top and than another tanktop. You can imagine how hot I get. As for the tummy well I've had my first child when I was 22 via C-section and since then I have had the apron tummy (over hang) after my second child again C-section I think it was worse but it didnt make a difference I already felt depressed from the first time around. I have tried to do everything to get rid of that stomach but no matter how many sit ups I did or how much weight I lost it won't go flat. So when I hit 40 I told my husband that this is it its time to make myself look good and feel better. I started researching and it took 10 months to find the right surgeon that I felt comfortable with. I hope I made the right decision. I got approved for OHIP (didn't want to post prior to that because didnt want to jinks myself) and went to see the PS today to firm things up and get the date for surgery. Now that it seems so really my journey begins. I have started my diet today, I hope to lose as much weight as possible prior to my surgery. Pictures will be coming shortly.

So I finally found the time to take pictures, I must say I had a little double about this surgery but now that I see the pictures its worse than I thought so wipe away any minor doubt i had. I have less than two weeks for my surgery but for some reason I am not getting nervous yet which is a good thing. I dont think it has sunk in yet. I haven't even prepared yet. Anyone have any advice on what things I should buy a head of time?

One more week. I purchased my recliner, still didn't buy any products. I am not nervous at all, I dont know why but maybe next weekend I'll feel differently. Just want to get it over with any go through the healing process. I am so curious to know what my breasts will look like after the reduction because they have been large most of my life and the stomach, well I never had a flat stomach so I am looking forward to that as well.

Tomorrow Is the Big Day I can't believe its here. I really dont know what to expect. By this time tomorrow I'll be post-op. Hopefully I won't have too much pain and I will look good. Of course with my luck I got my monthly visit unexpected a week early. Did I mention that I BBQ yesterday and the eggplant exploded on my face and now I have a burn on the side of my face. Plus I never get zits on my face and I have a huge one thats red on my forehead that I can't rid of. I already look horrible in the face and can't leave the house anyway. :-)

Hi All, I came back home from hosptial yesterday. I am doing OK, Mostly back pain from lying on my back so much. The surgery went well I woke up and didnt feel any pain because I requested the drugs prior to me going under. Urinating was a whole other issue but thank go eveything is OK now. I am at home and expecting the nurse to come over to emply the drains and change my bandages. I will keep you posted, so far a little pain but mostly discomfort.

Its been 5 days and I fill like my left breast is much more swollen than the right, its really bruised and feels full..Also the nipple in my right breast seems to be higher than on the left. Is this normal? I mean I dont expect them to be exactly the same, one having a total different shape than the other is one thing but the nipple, can this problem be fixed?

So its 11 days post op, my breasts are looking a little bit more similar but still off. I've posted pics that I took on 7 days post op but didn't find the time to load them. I wonder if anyone had the same misshape and if it evened out or they had to have a revision.

So I am 17 days post op, not back to myself yet....

So I am 17 days post op, not back to myself yet. The incisions in the breasts are hurting, it wasn't like that before not sure why, maybe its the steri-strips, they do feel kind of hard but I was told by my PS to leave them on as they help with the scarring. The last visit I was told that if there are any minor uneveness in the breasts 6 months down the road, he can fix it for me in the office with local with local anesthetics, I thought they were getting better but now its seems like my breasts are way off again especially the nipple position, It really bothers me. Stomach is getting better can't complain, still can't stand up straight. :-(
Toronto Plastic Surgeon

I found Dr Bray online and after meeting him I felt very comfortable with him.

Congratulation to you and thanks for the tips, do you suggest buying a recliner? how is you recovery going?

I didn't get a recliner I wish I had tough. I have a cot in bedroom and I put my wedge pillow under the mattress so it's propped up. It works but a recliner would of been way better. Remember with recovery that is slow. The 1st few days were so rough for m- but everyone is different. I don't find the drains to hurt they r just more of an annoyance.  What are you getting done?
