I cannot express how happy I am with Dr. Bray and...
I cannot express how happy I am with Dr. Bray and am so glad I went with him to perform my surgery. I am a male, 48 yrs in great shape, 6 ft, 190 lbs work out regularly and I have or I should say I had "Man Boobs" or as the Doctor more politely calls it: Gynecomastia surgery or male breasts, (And I hated them) I hated the comments, especially as I dance and some of my
female partners would say I had larger "Boobies" than them, Up until about 5 years ago, everything was fine, then my body began to change and my shirts got tighter, yet my weight hadn't changed that much, I exercised more, I lost weight all that would do is make me look thin faced and my chest would just jiggle more when I danced or ran - As I said I hated them, I didn't want to go swimming, take holidays or do anything that might mean I needed to take my shirt off in front of others.
Happily when I decided on Dr. Bray we also talked about some other minor issues that were of concern, (In for a penny, in for a pound I say), I figured as I wasn't in real bad shape yet - that to do some additional minor work now would offset having to do larger more severe work done later, (minor work now - I felt meant less down time, I'm still young(ish) so i figured it's an easier recovery on my system than waiting and doing it in another 10+ years all the while complaining about it and being unhappy with my body shape.
So I asked about my "muffin top" i.e. love handles and around my flanks which they all tie together and we did it. As I said I can't tell you how happy I am with Dr. Bray. My waist has returned to a 33, I have a butt again, I love that my waist curves in, I love that my chest doesn't pull all the buttons on my shirts, I can wear my fitted dress shirts again. Plus no one really knows, I am getting lots of compliments about how I have been working out, how all the exercise and eating right has paid off. (If they only new…)
I had the surgery in late August and when I look at my before and after photos, I am thrilled more and more each time,
Why I chose Dr. Bray:
Before deciding on Dr. Bray, I had researched many Doctors in Toronto as well internationally (I opted not to use an international surgeon as I was concerned about not having access to post surgery after care - As this was very important to me knowing my Dr. was close at hand to answer any question and alleviate any anxieties I may have post surgery.)
I had been thinking about having the surgery for at least 3 years now, meeting with different Dr's, researching them, Finally I saw Dr. Bray on CTV, talking about Man Boobs (my words not his) and a new treatment called BodyTite, (I had seen many male breast reduction surgeries on-line while researching and many of the previous procedures required that the nipple area be cut to remove the tissue - the new BodyTite procedure did not, (which meant to me - what I hoped would mean less nerve damage) Dr Bray also showed that as it removed the tissue, the process works to stimulate the skin to tighten as you heal so less sagging skin after the surgery. Another bonus in my eyes, less cutting, less scars, less sagging (less likely people will notice)
So here I am, 5 months after surgery, happier than I have been in years about my body, the time line in my healing has been fast, I owe this clearly to Dr Bray's skill and technique, as well I believe that I chose to have the procedure done now while in good health, rather than waiting for the need to become greater and require more healing on my part. All and all, thank you Dr. Bray for bringing back my body the way I wanted it to be.
Any of you men who are thinking about this procedure, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Bray, he sits down with you, takes the time to answer your questions (and I had a lot of them), I can say, If you're unhappy with your body today, you don't get less unhappy the more years you wait to do something about it, I am so glad I did it now. Paulette, Dr. Brays' assistant is fabulous at helping ease your concerns, booking your appointments, assuring you and if you are all concerned about your privacy ask her for a tour - the clinic is amazingly discrete, no one ever needs to see you come or go.
