I decided to do a review on Umbilicoplasty/Belly...
I decided to do a review on Umbilicoplasty/Belly Button Surgery because there are hardly any reviews of this type of surgery and I figure I'll walk you through my journey this far.
Before I start I'll give you a bit of background. I've always been happy with my belly button until I had my second child. I have two boys, a 3 year old and a one year old.
After my second child my belly button didn't go back or resemble anything of what it looked like pre-pregnancy.
Shortly after giving birth, I decided that I was going to accept my body as it was, since after all I had just had two beautiful boys. However after a few months I decided that I wanted to get it fixed. I figured that I deserved it and I wanted to feel comfortable in a two piece bikini again. So I searched everywhere until I found an answer from a Toronto doctor regarding Umbilicoplasty and how it was actually a common procedure in his clinic. That's how I found Doctor Marc Dupere. I read about him and his credentials were impressive. So I decided to make a consultation to see him. When I met Doctor Dupere I found him to be down to earth and knowledgeable, he let me know that after examining me I had a small umbilical hernia. I was happy to hear that he was able to note something was not quite right in that area, because I had felt some discomfort and tenderness around my belly button as well. His staff was friendly and informative. At the end of the consultation I felt comfortable with him and he made me feel that I was in good hands. I was happy to know that my surgery was not just cosmetic but that he would address the small hernia I had.
I had my surgery on August 19th, 2015 it was done under local anesthetic and I was awake the whole time. The procedure lasted for about 90 minutes and I was sent home that day. I had a follow up two weeks later for stitch removal.
I had my 6th week follow up with Doctor Dupere a couple of weeks ago and I told him that I found the size of the belly button too large. The circumference is too large compared to my waist size. He told me that, part of the issue was that I did not have significant fat on my stomach to make the belly button sit inwards. However, he said that we can revise it by making the belly button surface area smaller. My husband thinks that my belly button looked better before surgery but has faith that Doctor Dupere will be able to improve the current look of it. I'm hoping that after the revision it will look more natural. I'm not expecting perfection, I do have realistic expectations, however I do want an aesthetically pleasing belly button.
I will post recent pictures tomorrow since I only have the ones attached on my computer, the most recent one being two weeks post-op. I will also post a pic of my pre-pregnancy belly button for comparison.

As you can kind of see in this picture the belly button is quite large. I also have some folds that make the belly button more prominent.
