I had 5 treatments at a high setting. My acne scarring is not that severe and I have a few fine lines. There was no improvement whatsoever. The procedure was virtually painless after having numbing cream applied. The redness lasted about 3 days and then faded over a number of days.
Don't bother with this treatment and spend your money on something else.

If the procedure was "virtually painless after numbing cream" and you were "only red for three days" you most certainly did not have a very high setting. I've had 7 Fraxels over the last 4 years and have it at the highest setting. I find it to be a VERY painful procedure after 1 hour of numbing cream AND a vicadin. After the initial 5 procedures I have it once a year as a maintenance. My skin is not perfect now but it is MUCH better and always looks amazing about 2 months after the procedure when the new collagen has formed. I am usually very swollen for a couple of days and I look sun burned for about 5 to 7 days. And another week or 2 of looking very tanned after that. I need to stay out of the sun for about 2 months or I get weird pigmentation. I hate the pain but I swear by the results.
Interesting I did my first eCO2 at that clinic and the results were ok - *everyone*, even people who didn't know I got it done, were surprised what I did to my face because it got so much better.
Painless on high settings? I got it done again a week ago (different country, though) - 50 is definitely noticeable, 70 isn't pleasant at all and in some areas (around mouth/eyes) it actually hurts, at 100 I had to clench my teeth and hands. And 100 isn't the max output... When my doc was doing my eyelids at 30 I actually cried a little...
Also 3 days is a bit fast to recover? I have perfect skin for this kind of procedure - pale as a wall, very thin, I coagulate fast and it still takes me around 6-7 days to recover (I mean to finish peeling off the old skin etc.).
Maybe the doc didn't set it as high as you thought he did? Did he tell you what settings were used? When I was doing my laser he was reluctant to tell me as he thought I wouldn't understand any of it (tough luck for him my physics teacher at the uni was pretty strict so I know my lasers ;-)).
Hi Tokyo,
Thanks for the review. You said the redness lasted about 3 days, did you peel at all? Please keep us updated and welcome to the community.
Thanks,
