I am 5'5 and 120lbs and naturally a petite figure. I eat moderately healthy and although I don't go to the gym often I am pretty active. I looked into coolsculpting because no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of my belly pooch! Even when I was going to the gym multiple times a week nothing changed! At my consult I was told I would be a perfect candidate for Coolsculpting. The Dr. pinched my belly fat and said she recommended two small applicators on my flanks. She said when I got to the office that the technician doing my procedure might recommend a different applicator.

The day of the procedure the technician again pinched my belly and marked me up. She agreed with the two small applicators on the flanks but said we could also do a large one horizontally across my belly but that it might leave me with a indent by my belly button. I said no thank you to that! I went with the two small applicators. I have a relatively high pain tolerance, so I wasn't expecting this to hurt much. I was told the suction into the aplicator was what bothered most patents. I didn't find it that painful, maybe a 4 on a 1-10 scale. It was just a shocking feeling, kinda takes your breath away for a second but then you can sit back and relax. It was cold and uncomfortable at first, I kept checking my phone to see how long it had been and when I would start feeling numb. After about 10 min I was completely numb and didn't feel a thing. I put a movie on my phone and the hour went by super fast. The nurse and technicians wrapped me up in warm blankets and a warm neck pillow, it was actually really relaxing!!!

I thought the worst part was over and that I had nothing to worry about! I was wrong. The worst part had yet to come. Once the technician took the aplicator off my stomach looked like a frozen stick of butter. Immediately I felt nauseas and tingly from head to toe. She told me she has to massage my for 2 min and I thought I was going to puke. I was writhing in pain, kicking my legs and thought I was going to pass out. The technician got to worried that she went and got the nurse. I curled up in a ball putting pressure on my belly for about 10-15 min before the thawing process stopped and I was in a tolerate amount of pain. I kept telling the nurse that I was not doing the other side that I couldn't take that kind of pain again. But after the 10-15 min passed I felt like a million bucks because I wasn't in sever pain anymore.

I sucked it up and did the other side, I didn't want to be lopsided and had the same experience. But I knew the pain that was coming in the end so I could prepare myself.

After the procedure I was completely num and not in any pain. I was super bloated, it felt like I had a belly full of jelly when pressed on it. I slept fine for the first two nights, no pain, just bloated. It wasn't until the 3rd day that I started feeling tingly and itchy when I touched my belly and had to wear leggings or leave my jeans unbuttoned. I slowly started feeling sharp shooting pains deep in my belly. They were uncomfortable reminders of what I had done, but didn't hurt tk bad. The sharp pains have continued to become stronger and more frequent every day and night, and while uncomfortable they are tolerable. They aren't preventing me from doing anything (walking, working, etc). The nurse prescribed my lidocaine patched when I left the office, but those just made it worse. The pains are deeper in my belly not on the surface and the patches made my skin super itchy and tingly. I had to take Tylenol pm last night to sleep, and the pain still woke me up a few times but I was able to roll over and go back to sleep quickly because of the Tylenol PM.

The bloating has gone down and back to my normal belly the day of the procedure and it's been 5 days. Other than the sharp shooting pains, I am not experiencing anything that I hadn't already read about or wasn't prepared for!

So far I am really happy with my decision and It was money well spent!
I will post pictures of my before when I go to my 2 month check in, I forgot to take them myself before the procedure. I keep reading stories about how Coolsculpting didn't work or left you hard and lumpy but so far it's just a jelly belly!
