Well after sitting on the decision for a year, 2...

Well after sitting on the decision for a year, 2 weeks after my wedding i decided that i made an on-the-spot decison to travel to Thailand for breast lift/implant surgery. I wanted to get in before christmas, so the day i booked, i was 6 weeks out from the surgery date. I just had to MAKE myself do it. There was no turning back now.

I travelled to Bangkok on the 14th December. I arrived late in the afternoon, was taken to the Global Health Travel apartments: had dinner, a sleep, and the next morning i was off for my consult. Having done my research, i was certain i knew the doc would recommend mod profile, over the muscle, small round implant. He confirmed everything i had researched and expected him to say, and we decided on a 175cc round implant, as i already had more than enough breast tissue, but was after that 'upper pole fullness'.

My surgery was just a few hours later. I was glad to just be getting in there and having it done so i didn't have time to freak out. I was very calm the entire time. Once i woke up i was nauseas from the general anesthetic and probably had the most uncomfortable night of my life - only being able to sleep on my back (don't know why i hadn't thought of this before), feeling drugged and helpless - having to call the nurses whenever i needed to use the toilet. By the morning i was so ready to get the drip out of my arm and to leave. Lucky my doc was in by 830am. He told me all had gone well. The nurses showered me, and it was time to leave.

My surgery was on the Sunday, and i didn't look at my boobs until the Tuesday about midday when i decided i was brave enough to have a shower. I had scared myself silly at the thought of 'looking different'. Not bad, just different. As i peeled the tape off of the gauze, the feeling of it being pulled off the numbness of my breasts made me feel sick, and i had to lie down and then be showered by one of the GHT nurses. Thankgod for them! Oh also, the BLOATING. From all the drugs/fluids you are injected with. I thought by the time i got home i'd have 10 kilos to lose. It took about 2 weeks from the date of the surgery to go down. Its horrible. My belly was as big as my boobs. But its normal, thankgod and NOT fat! lol.

As it turns out, i was reacting to the painkiller, and i spent the first 4 days feeling 'off' and in and out of sleep. Once we realised what the problem was it was easily rectified, and by day 5 i was ready and raring to leave the apartments.

Exactly one week after the surgery i had my follow up appointment, and the doc was pleased with my healing. I am almost 3 weeks post op now and sent my doc an email with a pic to check what he thought of the healing. He replied within a few hours and is happy with how its all going, and i'm stoked with how they look :)

Week 4-5 Post op.

Well, i've just reached week 5 post op. Week 4-5 has been a magic week for me in terms of progress. Most of the pains i have been feeling have gone (still just a slight bit of tenderness and numbness when they're pressed), they have gotten super soft like they used to be (completly natural feeling again), and i can push them together to create cleavage again! yay! After all the scary pains, (sunburnt feeling, searing pains, pulling pains), spitting stitches, peeling breasts, (which are all normal but scary when u don't know what to expect), i am now feeling much better about everything, and stoked with how they're looking :)

7 Weeks Post Op

Am loving the shape they are now. super natural. Incisions have been a bit red of late, i think its iritation from my underwire bra so i've gone back to a sports bra, and i've had a small bit open up into a blister looking wound which i assume is a small infection. heading to the gp tomorrow to check it out. not too worried, i'm sure it'll heal with some antibiotics and betadine :)
