I recently had a breast augmentation by one of the best plastic surgeons in my area. On all surgical levels the surgery was perfect, a skillful success. He truly is a great plastic surgeon. However, in my opinion, my breasts are entirely too wide for my frame! He made careful and multiple measurements and calculations and landed on the text book size implant for my frame and size. The end result was a breast that was entirely too wide with too much lateral or "side boob" hang-over for the look I had in mind. Now mind you, they look perfect to most people. But for me, my arms look like twigs next to my breasts. I only asked for a full B and I am positive these are C's. He used a 255cc teardrop silicone implant. Not a big implant at all. I am however very petite, athletic and very narrow. I did not want breasts that extend outside of my ribcage. My question is....Why do you doctors insist on doing these types of augmentations? They do NOT look natural at all. A breast does not grow laterally naturally. I understand some women want bigger breasts, that's why we come to you. But, why do you make them so wide? I want to start a new trend of more narrow implant surgeries!! You can still achieve the fullness, projection and look but we don't all want the width! I urge you all to WARN your patients of the SIDE BOOB before you cut on your patients!!! Give us the option of either liking them, or NOT!!! Now I have to spend another $8000 to get a revision because I look two headlights coming down sidewalk with tiny twig arms trailing behind!!! I also put partial blame on the implant manufacturers in your defense. I have downloaded every implant catalog available and the implants you have to work with all have the same shared theme....they are all WIDE!!! I now have to downsize to a 7.4cm, 120cc implant to get the base width that will give me the look of the width I really want and one that will fit the confines of my chest area, again, in my opinion. Unfortunately it is a very small volume implant. But anything bigger is too wide for my chest. I have a base implant now that is 11.5 and it is huge, I have a ton of lateral hang-over. It is very cumbersome, un-natural looking not to mention it is still extremely painful at 12 weeks post-op because, in my opinion, they are so wide for my body, I am having an extra hard time healing. I am in pain every day, it's like my body is telling me they are too big!! I honestly don't know how these girls get these huge 4,5,600 cc implants?! It must be much easier when you are younger!!! I am 51 and my skin and muscles were so tight that he had a lot of tugging and pulling just to get the 255's to fit! I'm just saying.......ASK your patients if they like the SIDE BOOB, WIDE BOOB look before you start cutting on them!!! Some of us just want a normal narrow, smaller, petite breast for crying out loud, lol!!!! I rest my case!!!! Thanks for listening......carry on!!!!

Too much SIDE BOOB!!!
