I'm excited and nervous about my upcoming breast reduction surgery Aug 20th. I have been trying to stay busy to keep my mind off the surgery, but I cannot contain my anxiety. It's the unknown and anticipation of how much pain/discomfort I will be in and what the final result will look like. With all that said I'm looking forward to my new perky breast! Not to mention going shopping for new bras and bathing suits! Or no bra at all!!! :)

A normal, average recovery is not painful or difficult, you need to be well informed and realistic in your expectations, read lots of reviews to know what to expect, my review charts a normal recovery to 6 months post op, i hope you read it and find it helpful

Congratulations! I just had my BR August 12 and I'm now 3 days post op (u can see my before/after pics in my profile) All your worries are normal but it honestly isn't such a horrible experience! I was about a size 32F. My post op is August 19th so I'll find out how much he took off. But you will not regret it! I immediately felt lighter and it's been awesome. Good Luck! Keep us posted!

The pain is bearable. Just follow all of your PS instructions. I am going to be 4 weeks on the 21st. I went from a 34H to a 34 DDD right now. My back and neck pain went away:) Wishing you a speedy recovery! Take your pain meds the first few days as your doctor recommends, especially so you can sleep through the night ;)

I can under your anxiety & excitement. I've been there 4 weeks ago. Definitely there's pain & discomfort as expected but surprisingly tolerable, will also depend on your threshold for pain tolerance. Some pain med when needed and plenty of rest should do you good. 4 weeks PO and I feel great already. Don't worry too much, you will be just fine. Good luck on Aug 20th.

Best of Luck tomorrow!!! I am having my surgery September 8th and counting down the days. I am so nervous. I am 49 years old with three children. I am a DD to DDD. My post-op appointment is not until September 3rd. Did you need to have any tests done before surgery or any blood work? The office never said anything about it.

Thank you! I feel the same way....I can't believe my surgery is tomorrow morning!! The only blood test for me was a finger prick at my pre op to check my irons level and I also needed a recent mammogram. Best of luck as well!

Hi, first, so happy & excited for you for your upcoming BR surgery. Secondly, having gone through this process myself on July 17th, just want to reassure you that you will be just fine. I was home 1 hr after the surgery immediately after all my vital signs were cleared. Yes to your blood test etc questions, 2 weeks prior to the surgery I had blood test; blood pressure & ECG done at my PS clinic. I believe some patients gets theirs done in the hospital. Hope this answers your questions. Will be thinking of you on Sept 8. Good Luck :))
