Hello I am 20 years old, 112 lbs (50kg) with size 28GG boobs. Have been big since puberty and i hate them! clothes don't fit shoulders and back hurt etc etc etc
so i researched breast reductions but couldn't find much about the process in the UK and thought i didn't stand a chance NHS and couldn't afford it privately.
but this january i decided i'd try anyway and went to my GP who wasn't 100% sure how it works on the NHS so referred me. about 6 weeks later i had a letter through inviting me to a 'breast reduction seminar' at the hospital. I went and it was me and 3 other ladies (2 my age, one older lady) sat with one of the breast care nurses as she went through the operation with us and recovery and stuff. she took our weights and heights too for BMI. We were then told we'd get an appointment with a surgeon and to wait for that.
2 weeks later i had an appointment with a surgeon booked for a few months later, 8th may to give you some measure of time. I went and he assessed me (first time i'd had to take my top off) and he asked a few questions and then said he was happy to do the operation. i was shocked and raised my concerns about how difficult it is to have it NHS and he said usually they have problems with women with much higher BMIs (my BMI is 20) on the NHS. I had to sign some forms and also told him i could come in short notice which he made a note of as the waiting list is 18 weeks.
it was too late that day to go to pre assessment so i rang his secretary when i hadn't had a letter for a week and she said she'd email them.
a week later i had a call from her offering me a date - 18th july! i couldn't believe how soon it was and was really glad i'd make a point of saying i could come in short notice.
had a pre assessment appointment the week later and they took some swabs, asked a lot of questions about my lifestyle and took a blood test. that was 10th june. provided all those come back fine i'm booked in for the 18th and can't wait!
i will update as i go!

Congrats! You are so tiny to have such large breasts you must be really relieved to be taking some action, and young enough to enjoy the benefits of being young (I am SO looking forward to little bikinis/dresses etc too!)
Hey Rosie. How did you get on? I'd love to hear how another UK girl got on. I'm sure you feel great now it's been a few months :)
Welcome to the community. The process is so different over in the UK..wow.
Well I am happy you joined us and look forward to reading your updates. July 18th will be here before you know it!
