I have been on this website for a few months. My journey started in March. I had a consultation for a breast reduction. Upon applying for insurance coverage I was denied. I was so upset. Reading reviews posted and wanting this so bad I was instructed by my case worker to call the insurance company. I called everyday for two weeks going between insurance and office personnel. I received a letter of rejection. I actually wrote a letter to my insurance company explaining all symptoms associated with large breast. I know many of you on this site know these, but I will list them anyway.
Sleeping with my hand between my breast and waking up with my hand numb
Holding mu breast off my stomach while sitting to breathe better
Unable to exercise ,which increases my blood pressure and increase chances of diabetes
Unable to sleep
Anyway after my letter I didn't hear from anyone for a month. I actually thought about just investing in bras every couple of months.( cannot wear underwire,so other bras stretch out of place) I was riding in my car and received the news that my surgery was approved. I was so happy. Now I am proud to be amongst the patients posting my journey here. My surgery is set for September 17th. My cost reflects after insurance plus Lipo under the arms.
So upset. My preop is scheduled for next...

Hey Barbara! Hope everything went well today!
;-)
Happy Birthday! What a great present to give yourself :-D
good luck!
You have some time between now and surgery to get that level up. Mine is two days after yours but my pre op is not until the 13th. Will be watching for your updates..
Start taking iron (and stool softeners too, as the iron is constipating) you will want your iron level nice an high before surgery. Also be aware that if your hgb drops with surgery (totally normal) that you will be extra weak, so take it easy and give yourself plenty of time to rest and heal. Good luck!
Welcome, Barbara! Congrats on your approval! Don't hesitate to ask any of us any questions or join in on the conversations!
