Hi there! I am writing this review to encourage anyone that has ever considered getting tummy tuck to consider Dr. Vasquez. Both he, and his staff made the whole surgical process a wonderful experience!

I had mine performed this year. My only regret, however, was that I did not have it done sooner!!! I was thrilled at the results!

First of all I had my reservations about being "off from work". (I am a workaholic), but I was actually able to return to my active, job as a RN 16 days later!

I had a great deal of stretch marks from having huge babies, and that excess skin that rolled over my underwear always frustrated me! I hated the "jelly belly" feeling of that darned extra skin! Now, it feels "normal"once again.

The surgery took about four hours, and I was home in less than 2 hours later. I had one of my best friends over and we watched DVD's. I admit to dozing off, but that was just fine! I needed a hand to get off of the couch to go to the bathroom but I supported my incisional site with a small pillow and of course, my binder was on to help support me! I took my pain tablet every 4-6 hours to ward off discomfort for the first 3 days, and then I only took it about once a day if needed for a total of 5 days.

It is normal to have 2 drains in for about 5-6 days. The drains will feel awkward to deal with initially, but you get used to them quickly. You just empty them and give them a squeeze like a ball and then close the cap. They get emptied about 3 x a day for about 5-6 days and then he pulls them out.

Dr. Vasquez gave me a fancy surgical binder that looks like a combination between a girdle and a corset, in lieu of the hospital binder to wear after the first 2 weeks. I had to wear one until the sixth week. Well, actually I was supposed to wear it until my sixth week. I wore mine until my 5th. People at work could not believe how quickly I had recovered. I actually showed a couple of my friends my surgical scar! I would have never bared my abdomen before!

About the surgical scar.. Trust me, I have seen many abdomens in my career, and let me say that... "the scars are not created equal". Dr. Vasquez gave me a very nice looking one and the placement is perfect. I may actually wear a bikini for the first time in my life since having my first child!

The staff is supportive, and Dr. Vasquez will make time to speak with you about any questions and you are encouraged to come as needed. They are always so friendly! Dr, Vasquez always takes his time with you and is a perfectionist!

p.s. Just be certain that you are aware of the fact that there is bruising around the area where he performs the liposuction, but that quickly goes away. Also, be aware of the numbness around the surgical site that eventually goes away during your time of healing. I was fortunate that a family member could help me for 3 days post operatively and helped me to get off the couch, as I supported my abdomen. You also need to take a stool softener, in adjunct with the pain medicine at first.. That is true with any surgery.
