I have always had a bit of a tummy.I have an barrel shaped figure.People still ask me if I am pregnant 6 years after my son's birth.I am so ready for this.I feel confident that I have chosen the right plastic surgeon.

I decided to make peace with the fact that I was not going to have that second baby and that my 40th is coming up.I feel that I should be able to enjoy my body while I am young enough.

My Dr recommended doing a blood infusion 10 days before to use for the surgery.Has anyone had their Dr suggest the same?I went to the beach today and as usual had to hide under a sarong.I can't wait to have that flat tummy.

Blood transfusion...not infusion sorry.

Today is the big day.I have taken all the prescribed pre-op vitamins.I am very excited and nervous.I will spend on night at the 5 star Renaissance private clinic and 2 nights at an aftercare guesthouse.I will update after the procedure.

I am lying in the hospital bed now.The pain isn't too bad.I am taking my arnica tablets and in the morning I will take an anti-inflammatory and a blood thinning injection which my Doc recommended pre-op and post-op.I will post of pic of my tummy.
Tomorrow I will be taken to a post op guesthouse for 2 days.
The drains will hopefully be removed tomorrow and the catheta.I am taking zinc, vitamin C, vitamin B and iron tablets.I am taking Stopayne every 6 hours as well.
Until tomorrow...

It is day 4 and I am very swollen.Yesterday I felt nauseous and vomited after breakfast.I took a Valoid suppository which helped.I was also very emotional yesterday...a bit better today.I am not oozing anymore.I will see my PS on Mon.He has stayed in contact with me.I spent 2 nights in hospital and 2 nights at an aftercare guesthouse with 24 hour nursing staff. They took care of me really well.
Today is my first day back at home.I am a single Mom and my 5 year old is away with his Gran.I am alone tonight but my boyfriend cooked me nice dinner and my Mom looking after me tomorrow.I have to inject myself with the Clexane tonight for the first time...blood thinning medication.I am taking Brexecam as an anti-inflammatory.Movicol for constipation and Stopayne and Panado for the pain.I also have sleeping pills and anti-depressants which I must say, I have been taking as I have been feeling a bit down.
I will update after seeing my Doc on Mon.

This is my binder which I must say is quite tight.I had another one made and my Doc said it was too tight so I will have to have it altered.I don't have the energy to take this one off and try that one on.

On the my 5th day I had the worste constipation.I tried Glycerine suppositories...didn't help.I eventually got a nurse in, that I stayed with previously and she gave me a Dulcolax suppository, olive oil, prune juice and boiled water to sip on.She also made me some fruit salad and plain yoghurt.I think the Dulcolax did the trick.I was constipated for a whole day after eating dried prunes.I think it caused it but it also normal after an anaesthetic.

I am very swollen as you can see.

It's week 2 and I feel pretty good.I am still very swollen and where the drain pipes were in the vagina, it is really sore.
My scar looks nice and flat but still has the tape on it.I am going to the Doc on Fri to check the swelling, etc.My belly button I'm not 100% sure about but as the swelling subsides, I'm sure it will look better.
Resting for 3 weeks post op is very important.Sitting makes the swelling worse.Lying flatter seems to help with legs raised.I roll onto my side and then push myself up.Last week my back was killing me.This week it's better and walking straighter.

Made love for the first time 2,5 weeks post op.I went against the advice of my PSes nursing sister. She said 6 weeks.I got a late reply via SMS from my PS and he said ASAP!As long as we do it gently....I am so thrilled!

All I can say is rest is crucial!

4 weeks post op

I'm feeling pretty good and swelling gone down a lot.I am also coping well with work.

Side view

6 weeks post op and feeling amazing

Still swollen but feeling pretty normal.I am still resting a bit but lots more energy.I just turned 40 and decided to postpone my celebration until next month and hopefully the swelling would have gone down quite a bit more.

6 weeks post op

Feeling good

Still swollen on the top.

Feeling fantastic

I am 3 months post op and still tender around the scar.I still have a bit of swelling.I have started Pilates classes again as my appetite has come back.I must be very careful not to put on weight as I feel thin so it's an excuse to eat anything.I feel good in my clothing and can fit into clothing from 10 years ago.I look like a 20 year old again...well so I've been told. Some people say it's taken 10 years off.I am 40 and am going to have my celebration in a week...very excited to show off my new figure.

Hi Ash.I took Zinc, B Complex and Vit C pre op and post op.I also took Iron tablets pre op as I donated my blood for the op as it speeds up recovery.I took Arnica D6 post op and Movicol for the constipation post op.I am now using Dermastine for the scar over the micropore. Who is doing your op?

Thanks for the info. Dr van Tonder is doing my op. Did the Movicol not give you cramps? What is Dermastine? My ps said to use micropore as well. However he said to stay away from the arnica. Did you take any Bromelain? I found some at DisChem, don't know if I should get it, will ask my ps. Taking the vit C as well as my normal multivit, do I need to take zinc and vit B comp extra, do you think?

Hey Leeann, thank goodness I found a fellow South African :) You are looking awesome after your TT. Can you give me a list of all the pre-op supplements you took as well as the post-op meds. At least I'll have something to compare it too, we don't have a lot of the items out USA tt sisters use :) and I am a bit lost
