I am a 27 yrs old African American woman with a medium frame. My stomach has always been my trouble area. In August I had blood work done at Guyer Molecular Institute. At this time my blood work revealed that I needed to take thyroid pills, vitamin D, and some other supplements. At this time I met with {edited – provider information is located above the review for registered users}'s coordinator/assistant who informed me about the liposmart procedure. She told me that it would be pain free and I was skeptical. I found this site and after reading some peoples reviews I was very scared. However I am very impress with {edited} and I scheduled the procedure. September 16, 2007 at 1:15pm I was scheduled for my procedure.

I went into one of the rooms changed into the panties and bra they gave me. My measurements and pictures were taken. Dr came in marked on my body ask if I had any questions and left the room. I went into the procedure room pick out some cds and layed on the table. The assistant came in sanitized my stomach. Dr came in gave me two shots on both sides and pumped my stomach with litocane (I may not be spelling it correctly/sorry) He told me that most people says that this part hurts. Honestly it didn't hurt at all, I just felt like a tire being pumped with air. Dr. began the procedure with the laser and he was very gentle. I told him that I thought I had to drink a gallon of water a day which was why I had to use the bathroom. After he finishes with the laser I went to the bathroom and my stomach look funny I could actually see the little bubbles.

He started using the suction or what ever you call it and sucked the fat out. He said that my fat was coming out pretty easily. After about 30 mins to an hr he went back in with the laser. He said that this way I would still be burning fat 12mts later. His assitant said that I had very little drainage and it was probably because of all the water I drink a week before the procedure. She put some pad over the two needle size holes on each side and put on my girdle and I went home. Before I left I was given fat burning cream and pain cream that my doctor manufactures at his office to rub on my stomach.

Honestly I have had no pain what so ever and I would recommend this procedure but find a good doctor.

Pre-op: I was instructed to take two Cephalexin a day for 5 days.

I put peroxide and Neosporin on my pads, however the holes are so small and I am barely that can’t really see the holes.

I have used the bathroom all this morning and I am feeling like I am deflating. I wonder if this is normal. I don't see a huge difference yet matter a fact got on the scale and I am 10 mts heavier at the moment.

I am very pleased with my experience and I definitely feel bad for all those who had a bad experience. I wish you all the best....

I will post pics very soon

Hi, I am thinking to get done smartlipo,I am thinking to get it to get it done my thighs, above knees, and butt area I want to know if its ok to do everything at one time or not,How is recover time, Please advice me.
Princess7118 21 Sep 2008
ndave, I dont think any doctor will work on more then 3 areas at a time. I had my upper and lower abs done as well as my flanks. I experienced no pain what so ever but everyone is different. As you can see from the post pain has ranged from pain free to extreme pain per individual. I never had my thighs done and what I have read on this site it seems to be a bit more painful. Good Luck

are we talking no pain during the procedure or after the procedure or both? I had a GREAT pain free procedure but recovery has been a sore, tender and rough road in some ways.
Princess7118 22 Sep 2008
Luzan, I haven't had any pain during or after. I did feel a little stingy waking up this morning but I think that is because I didn't wear my garment last night.
Princess7118 24 Sep 2008
This is week 1 today and still no results no pain as well. The stitches are a little stingy and itchy. I am a little disappointed because I can't wear my regular clothes. The scale says that I am 10lbs down I don't know how because I can't tell. However I have been taking the pills my doctor perscribed.

Princess7118 - pls continue to post updates. I'm very interested in your progress. My experience is EXACTLY like yours - even with all the supplements. I'm 9 weeks in and still waiting for results. It does get a little better, but I'm still disappointed. How has the Dr and his asst been with your post-op questions and concerns?
Princess7118 8 Oct 2008
Hello, No prob I will definitely keep you updated. I have not called for any questions or concerns but I do have an appt. next week. Did you go to Dr. G? I can feel the hard fat in my belly nd just waiting for it to come out. I havent called them because I knew that it could take up to 6 mts. I am just waiting but I am wondering if I should have gotten a tummy tuck or regular lipo. Other people on this site had more fat sucked out which may be the difference..not sure... I will keep you informed, you do the same...

Princess - thanks for responding. Yes, I went to the same place. I called their office a couple times during the first week of post-op 'cause I was really swollen - all the way down to my pubic & vagina area!! I was a bit scared 'caused I wasn't prepared for that much swelling. My clothes didn't fit for a week. I'm trying really hard to be patient but as I mentioned, it's been 9 weeks and I'm only down 2" in my "problem" area - hips/lower abs. I've also been taking a bunch of supplements every day for the past month (and they're not cheap!) - DHEA, ALC, thyroid, etc., based on blood work that was done there. I have noticed a decrease in appetite, but the weight loss and results are almost non-existent. I'm trying to be patient 'cause I know it can take 6 months, but was hoping I would have noticed more by now. Let me know how your appt goes next week. When I went back for my 4 & 8 wk checks, I only met (briefly) with his asst, not Dr G. Don't be discouraged by my lack of progress - I'm a lot older than you are (50) and they warned me it might take longer! I hope you start seeing positive results soon! Good luck.

Thanks, I definitely understand how you feel! The pills are definitely expensive. I am very confuse because I have not lost any weight but about 5 pounds and 5 more after the surgery. I know that it sounds pretty good, but I loose that own my own..it is usually very easy for me to loose weight yet I haven't been loosing much since taking the same pills you have. I was a little discourage because I have noticed so many people on here who have had really good results immediately. One thing that we both know is that he did the work! Dr. G was very gentle but he did a lot of work, I was awoke the whole time. I guess we just need to be patient and in due time we both will look awesome in those areas. I have felt my skin getting tighter and smoother and I am guessing it is as a result of the laser. I have also felt several little hard knots in my stomach which I suppose is fat. Did you have the same little hard knots in your stomach? When you told the assist. about how you felt about the results, what did they advise?
Indythin 11 Oct 2008
They just keep telling me to be patient. Yes, I have lumps and bumps in my stomach - hard knots. Some say if you massage them, they will "dissolve", but mine seem to come back! When I wake-up in the morning, I feel a bit thinner but as the day goes on, I get more bumps and end-up taking on the same "look" that I had pre-surgery. I've only lost a few pounds but as you said, I think it's because of my own efforts, not the surgery or pills. I'm going to stick with all the supplements for a couple more weeks - at that point it will be 3 months since surgery and almost 3 months with pills. If I don't start looking and feeling better, I'm going to ask (insist!) for another appt with Dr G (at no charge) to get some of my questions answered. Good luck to you. Let me know how your follow-up appt goes.
