I have always been of the mindset that I would...

I have always been of the mindset that I would never have plastic surgery. After years of struggling with losing weight in my waist and overlapping skin I decided to seek professional advice. I found Dr. Peters and was amazed! I met with her and after my visit was ready to go ahead. I am now 5 weeks post op and so glad I did this and that I close Dr. Peters!

5 weeks down

I am so glad I went through with the procedure! It has been so worth it and such a big difference already even with swelling that I still have! The first few days were hard but it gets easier! I was shocked when they told me they removed 12 pounds! Now I just can't wait to really get my energy back and exercise more!
Prior to the procedure I was exercising regularly 7 days a week and had lost over 30lbs. I was so frustrated that my waist, and hanging skin never shrunk, only seemed to get worse. Dr. Peters eased my mind when she explained that this procedure would be a great option and that no amount of exercise would get my skin back. So very glad I did this!

3./5/14 1 day shy of 6 weeks post op

Not much has changed in the last few weeks. Still a little stiff, especially after I sit for a while. I have to try and remind myself to get up and walk every hour, to prevent it from being too uncomfortable. My incision is healing quite well. I only have 1 small spot that seems to be struggling. It is in the right spot where my underwear sits and if I'm not careful-and twist, it seems to open it back up. Just trying to keep it open touching air in hopes it will close up.
It is really neat seeing my tummy as the swelling goes down. I can't remember a time when my stomach has been that flat.
I've tried to get back on my elliptical routine, but with the open incision, I am afraid to do too much preventing it from closing up. Until it heals, I'll focus on my walking lightly.
I still don't have much of an appetite, so I just focus on eating a good balance of protein and carbs.

Overall I am so very glad I did this. I feel so fortunate to find such a great Dr! I would recommend anyone go to Dr. Peters. From her office staff to nurses and the anesthesiologist, my whole experience has been great. They have been so accommodating, considering I live about 3 hours from her office with a wintery pass in the middle. If anyone is in the Washington area, looking for a great Dr. She is the one I would tell you to see!

My interactions with Dr. Peters were and are always professional. She listened to what I or my husband had to ask of say and answered our questions. She really cares about her patients! She is awesome! More than accommodating. I have never been confused about what is going on, what I needed to do or what the path would be. More drs. need to take lessons on this. She is wonderful! I can't say enough. She was great!
