Best Thing Ever; I Should've Done It Years Ago! - Scottsdale, AZ

ORIGINAL POST

After having my children, losing approximately...

WORTH IT$12,000

After having my children, losing approximately 65lbs and knowing that I was not going to carry any more children, I decided to proceed with a Tummy Tuck and Liposculpture. The want for this began about 3 years ago. After having my last child, I had so much skin left hanging from all the pregnancy stretch marks that I knew would never retract, regardless of how much I exercised. At that point I weighed about 240lbs so knew I had quite a bit of weight to lose; not just for my health, but, ultimately if I wanted the best results from this procedure. So, after losing about 65lbs - in 2.5 years - I decided that it was now or never.

I am currently two days shy of 8 weeks post-op and the results are AMAZING! Granted, I am still a little swollen and my belly button hasn't completely healed yet, but man! I look amazing! I am a nurse, so I knew beforehand that it would be imperative for me to get up, move, walk, and to do all these several times a day, regardless of the discomfort. I knew I had to drink tons of water, eat a diet high in protein so that I could heal properly. This is what I tell my patients, so I had to practice what I preach. I believe that this is what has given me such great results.

I have seen my PS four times since my surgery (once because I had an allergic reaction to paper tape) and each time I've seen her, even she is amazed at the results and how different I've looked each time. I seriously look like I have lost an additional 40lbs since having the surgery, and she only took approx 12lbs with both the TT & Lipo. My scar is healing beautifully, so much so that I am sure it will be unnoticeable in less than a year. My scar is nice and low. It's completely covered with panties or bathing suits. Clearly, my PS is extremely knowledgeable. She has the best bedside manners and most importantly she's ALWAYS available to answer any questions or to see me, if need be.

Having and "apple" shape, my weight was always carried mainly in my abdomen. The weight loss, combination of these procedures, and the expertise of my PS have given me my body back! I feel like me again. I do want to say that it was not a walk in the park. I did have pain, It was tough to walk around and I couldn't do much without help for the first 3 weeks post op.

This is a major surgery and many risks exist, as with any surgery. Just keep in mind that having this or any surgical procedure is a PARTNERSHIP between you and your surgeon. You need to have realistic expectations and know that your surgeon is not a magician who will drastically change your life without you not putting forth any effort to aid in your recovery post-op..

Anyway, I'm anxious to see what my co-workers say when I return to work tomorrow...none of them know that I had this procedure. I will try to post pics as soon as possible. Thanks for reading!

I met her a little over three years ago at the Women's Expo in Phoenix, AZ. I have kept in contact with her since then.

Welcome to the community and thank you for posting your review.

How did your first day back to work go?

The week I went back to work, I went back ans worked three 12hr shifts in a row and boy was I beat after my third shift! I hadn't needed to take anything for pain at all for about 5-6 weeks, but during that shift I had to take 800mg of ibuprofen. The second week I also worked 3 in a row and it went much better. I feel completely back to normal now. I just need to work my way back to the gym...I have yet to do that.

Going back to work the first couple of weeks is rough!  I can remember how I hurt and was so tired.   Each step easing back into life is an adjustment for sure.

Take your time with the gym.  Start with some walking on the treadmill and then add other moved and activities each week.  My rule was that if something hurt; modify the move.  Just listen to your body and you will be fine.

I am scheduled with Dr. Daiza on June 10th! I would love to see some photos, if you are comfortable :)
