Juvederm is ok around the lips. Would not use elsewhere. Damages eye troughs far more than any warnings indicate.

Local advertising and seminars. I also had gone to them earlier for photofacials and for Botox -- those were ok. But after this disaster, they did nothing to help me look or feel better. I lost two weeks of work because I could not go out in public.

Juvederm does not work under the eyes. It attracts fluid to the trough area, creating huge bags that stretch the skin permanently. My left eye immediately blew up underneath, so the doctor did not even try injecting the right eye. I was therefore bruised and bloated under one eye and completely different under the untouched eye. Weird and painful and ugly. It took months for the damage to recede in my case. I finally went to a plastic surgeon to fix the damage of stretcehed wrinkly skin. He said in future to use Radiesse instead because it is a different product that does not rely on hyaluronic .acid. He also said not to use Radiesse around the mouth because it can create ganulomas there.

Oh my goodness, I can imagine that having one eye all puffed up and not looking quite right for a while was probably pretty hard to deal with. After this experience do you think you would try using fillers again, or has this scared you off from them altogether?

I now use Radiesse in very small amounts under the eyes.- never around the mouth because of the granulomas risk there. I use Juvederm only around the mouth.

Thanks for sharing that, as I was under the impression Juvederm would have been the better choice so to hear your experience is very useful.

Wow, I see how you could be traumatized. I was weary of Juvi under my eyes for a while, but I finally did mine. I have 2 top doctors I go too and one who's done all my plastic body surgery. I love my results for juvi, but reading your story makes me weary of doing the touch ups if I can avoid it. Sorry you had a bad experience.
My friend uses juvederm under her eyes and there is no problem but mine has been a nightmare . I will have to see a plastic surgeon to fix them . Glad you had good results !
I'm so sorry for your nightmare. My girlfiriend is iffy and she doesn't have the best of luck with botox and stuff like this. I'm going to have to warn her that their may be horrible damage to fix. Thanks for sharing your story.
I had terrible results with Juvederm under the eyes. Never again. Radiesse in small amounts has been ok
I had juvederm under my eyes nearly three years ago and am still having on going problems. Initially I was left with a black eye for six weeks but the swelling has never gone. Nine hylaronidase injections later I am off to see an eye specialist next week. I look awful. Can you tell me what your plastic surgeon did?
Hi England ! So sorry to hear about your eyes . I haven't been to plastic surgeon yet do to lack if time . I can relate to the swelling and darkness around the eyes. I am sad to hear that 3 years later you are not better . I was hoping time would be on our side . I have been dealing with my eyes since sept. 2012. As soon as I see the ps I will let you know what he suggests . I have been drinking lots of water putting lots of cream under my eyes I too have had several injections of the reversal . I have been waxing myself under my eyes . The inflammation from waxing lessens the bags ! Sounds crazy but I am desperate !
Thanks for coming back so quickly. Do you have a lump under the skin like I do? My GP originally thought the swelling was an infection in my sinuses but a CT scan has shown they are clear. They now wonder if the continued swelling is a blockage in the gland under my eye (where the bruising was worst). I am with an eye consultant next week. However, I also read somewhere that instant bruising and continued injections to dissolve the filler, can leave scar tissue - hence the swelling and fluid retention. If I get any definite answers next week I will let you know. I wish I had never had it done. I look like I've been beaten up! Hope you have better luck. Very best wishes.
England , thank you ! And please keep me informed as I will you ! I only have puffy lumpy spots that come and go along with bags and dark circles which I never had before . I did have small head lumps in laugh lines one on each side that are gone now . Wish I hadn't had this done either . I actually thought I was having my own serum put under my eyes that is what I went in for ! Then in the morning was told she put jeuvaderm . Not happy about that at all ! :( keep in touch ! Someone told me they were getting peels that were helping . I will email her and see how that is going ! I wanted to go to same person she went to but haven't had time . I will get back to you on that !
The surgeon did fraxel skin tightening treatments. Helped slightly.
