So, my surgery is scheduled!!! Six weeks from yesterday! Ahhhhh!
Ok, now that I got that out, lol.... I am 5'1" and currently wearing a 36F. I'm thinking I want to be a full C. My PS told me I should really consider what size I want to be and sorta implied that maybe I should be a D(???), but I still think thats too big. I've had these boobs for so long, I wouldn't even know what a C is really like.
At this point I'm not sure if I'm more excited that I've finally decided to do it or more nervous about how its going to turn out. I was told to find a soft sports bra to take to my post-op and have absolutely no idea what to look for or where to look?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! And if anyone has any other suggestions for after the surgery, they are much appreciated! Well, thats enought for now, I will try and get a before picture up soon. Until next time ladies!
Five weeks to go! Just turned in my paperwork for...

Oh, and on a side note, I'm not really picky about my PS office as long as he's good at surgery, but I have to say, getting them to fill out paperwork that I need for work seems to be a lot like having to pull teeth! Hopefully they get that together soon!
Well, thanks for listening... until next time ladies!
Ok, so I just made my appointment for my pre-op...

I still haven't been able to find a sports bra. I've looked online a little and may have found one or two, but don't have a clue what size to order, so I might just order a couple and return what I don't use. My PS office finally filled out all the paperwork I needed for work.... four weeks of no work! I might be a little excited about that even if its because I'm having surgery. I'm gonna go and stock up on some books and hopefully catch up on some reading during my downtime and maybe accomplish some some other things that don't require much effort. Now I just need to make a list of things to buy for after so I can be prepared.
Four more days til I say tata to my tata's. I...

But as I have read some of my fellow BR reviews, I realize there are several things about these big mamas that I won't miss. I'm pretty sure that someone is trying to tell me something since all of my bras are falling apart one by one...I even had one of my underwires snap in the middle, stab me right under my breast and all at an awkward moment in the middle of a work day.
I will post some before and after pics at some point. Things have been so crazy lately I haven't had a chance. Tata for now!
So, today is the day. I'm sitting in the parking...

My pre-op appointment was scheduled for about an hour before I was scheduled to check-in at the hospital. My surgeon, of course, was running behind. I didn't really mind except for the fact that I was scheduled to go in at 1:30 and was not able to eat anything. So, the entire time I'm waiting in the office and at the hospital my stomach is growling for the world to hear! But, nonetheless, I eventually get in to see my Dr. and he draws the worlds craziest looking roadmap on my chest (lets hope he knows which way to go, lol).I wander over to the hospital, which luckily is across the parking lot, and go check myself in. I put on the lovely gown and longest stockings in the world! I know I'm short, but come on, one size fits all stockings?? I could have pulled them up to my eyeballs. But I have to say, they have these lovely warm air-filled blankets that are fantastic! An hour or two later... insert wonderful sleepytime drugs and I'm off......
Next thing I know, I wake up in recovery at 645. I look down and whoa! I can see past my boobs all the way to my feet!! Woo hoo! Who knew how exciting that would be! On the other hand, my chest was burning! I had all kinds of tubes coming out of me and things attached - two tubes for anesthetic, two drain tubes, catheter, IV and an ace bandage wrapped tight enough put a burrito maker to shame. About a half hour later, the nurse comes over and turns on the pump full of anesthetic ( that Im pretty sure was supposed to be turned on before I woke up) and the burning flames I felt in my chest went away... hallelujah! Because of how late everything went, I had to spend the night in the hospital.
More to come later about post-op and follow ups soon.. and I've finally posted some before pics. After pics to come with my next post. Until later, ta-ta for now ladies :)
Hello all.... Tomorrow will be 3 weeks...

So, I think I left off at the night of surgery. That night was totally and completely uncomfortable. I don't know if it was the surgery or the bed that made me miserable all night. I could not sleep for anything! So, finally at about 3am they loaded me up with some good drugs and I slept for a couple hours (except for the occassional annoying vital taking throughout the night). The next morning I am told that as soon as I am up walking and bathrooming, I can leave... woo hoo!
The drive to my mom's house was about 2 hours and I have to admit it was pretty unpleasant :( You don't realize how many bumps are in the road til you've been cut open. I highly recommend bringing along a pillow if you have a long drive home. It helps when the girls start jostling around from the bumpiness. I got to my mom's house and planted myself in a recliner which i pretty much lived in for the next few days. I was told by my PS to empty the drains every 12 hours or so and to keep track of the amounts. I am not a fan of the drains... I think it was probably the most painful part of the process. The drains were in for about 6 days and it was absolute heaven to get them out! Wasn't painful to have them removed, it felt more like a little pressure. And the second greatest part... I got to see the girls! I have to say, its been really, really strange to see them. Having big ones for so long, they seem so small now, but the weight being gone is phenomenal! After they were removed, I was put into a super tight sports bra and told I had to keep from showering another week until I had the stitches removed...nooooo! I was really hoping for a complete shower after that appointment, but my bubble was burst.
If you are anything like me and cannot stand the fact that you can't wash your hair, this is my suggestion: Pull a chair up to your kitchen sink and have someone wash it for you. It is amazing!
Anyways, gotta go for now... more to come later. I am posting a week post-op pic. Sorry the quality kinda sucks, but its better than nothing. Until next time ladies.....
