Hello all!
I'm in the research phase of a breast augmentation, and this community has been really helpful. It's definitely comforting to hear about so many women's positive experiences and their advice.
I'm currently a 30A or 32AA (I actually wear a VS 32A, and the cups gape, so I know it's too big) and I stopped growing about 15 years ago. :-( I've thought on and off about a BA for years, but I've finally decided to make it happen. Luckily, I have a wonderfully supportive BF and friends who are going to be part of this journey with me (parents may be a different story).
I've had one consult already. The doctor was very nice and knowledgeable; I found him on RealSelf actually. However, there were a few things that I found myself wary about. He never did any measurements of my ribcage or my breast width. He pulled out 5 sizers for me to try and told me that was the range that I should be looking at, and had me put them inside my bra. I did feel that this wasn't accurate because I was wearing a pretty padded VS Very Sexy bra, and I mentioned this, but he didn't really seem to be listening. I guess I wanted some more attention to detail and because I'm a very small person, I was worried that he didn't do any measurements.
The ranges he pulled for me were Natrelle silicone mid profiles from 197 cc to 265 cc. I did like the look of the 234(?) cc, which was the 4th biggest he pulled, but I also wondered about partial loss of volume if I go under the muscle. In that case, is 265 cc the best bet? And he asked what size I wanted to be. I said a full C, but because implants are a little smaller in sizing versus natural breasts, should I be specifying that I want to LOOK like a full C, rather than be a full C?
I'm also trying to decide between saline and silicone. I like the added safety factor of saline, but I am thin and I'm worried that I might ripple. The first doctor did say that I would be fine and I have enough breast tissue, but I'm still worried.
As a result, I have a few more consultations set up - one tomorrow and one on Tuesday. I'll make sure to ask the new doctors about my questions above, but any input you ladies have is also welcome! :)

2nd Consultation done and rice sizers!

I met with the second doctor today, and the experience was very different from the first one. This doctor went through the whole process and is much more technological (also a bit younger) than the first one, and showed me the angles and measurements that are generally most appealing in going for a BA, like distance from nipple to fold, etc. It was really informative, though I knew about 90% of the info he told me just from doing the research.
We also did 3D imaging, which was really cool and helped me visualize what this big of a change would look like on my body. He definitely had a preference for the breast crease incision over the areola (the other doctor preferred the areola), and both had a strong preference for smooth round. The 2nd doctor also said I should definitely do silicone, not saline, because I have so little breast tissue, which is about what I expected, and also recommended going under the muscle.
I did like how precise this doctor was - I'm very analytical and nitpicky, and I felt like this doctor was more in line with my personality. What I was bummed about was that I won't get to try sizers on and look at different looks until the pre-op 2 weeks or so before surgery, and I'd kind of like to get a better sense of that long before the date, especially since I may be waiting until spring to go ahead due to work schedules.
I have a 3rd consultation tomorrow - will keep you ladies updated! I'll also post some pictures. I did the rice sizers today and put in 265 cc, the max the first doctor recommended.

Tried adding ~50 cc more, on the theory that going under the muscle means you lose 30-50 cc of visibility. This is with 324 cc (I added 59 cc more). The difference is very noticeable - I wonder if, by doing 324, I'll actually end up looking closer to the 265, or just a little bigger?
I have to say, I really do like the way this size looks too!

Go for at least 300. I'm 5'2 and 105 lbs and had 225 overs for my first BA, developed complications, and now have 350 unders. They fit well, even though I went from a 30A/B to a 30F!! I had saggy tissue from breastfeeding, though, so 350 might feel huge to you and may take a while to drop, so at least 300 would prob look good and do well for your stats. I can tell you that regardless of cup size, the physical difference btw 225 and 350 is small. 350s are wider and I don't need a padded push-up bra that I was still wearing with 225. Check out my pics and story.

Thanks for the input! I think you're right, especially based on today's consultation. The 265 didn't get me close to where I wanted - it'd put me maybe at a full B. Looks like 335 might be the size for me :)
Your 350s look so great on you! I read your story - what a tough situation with the first set, but your boobs look amazing!

Though admittedly, the thought of a 30F bra size is still a little scary to me! :)

Hi, Mamamel1974! We have the exact height and weight! I have 255cc right now. I wish I have 350s. :-) Yours look so perfect and just the right size!

Lol!!! I did not ask for that size--I asked for a small C originally!! Honestly, they look like C's in clothing -- that's why the whole bra sizing thing is ridiculous. They are not too big. They are the size I was getting with my 225s with a padded push-up bra, without the bra.

Thanks stilldreaming!! The difference btw 225 overs and 350 unders is not that much -- these are just wider, so don't fret. Enjoy what you have. Compare them to your before pics if needed. That always helped me feel better.

Welcome to RealSelf! I've been on here for quite a while and I must say that the community here is so amazing.
Secondly, I am in the same boat that you are! 30A/32AA. All of this "300cc on one person being drastically different on another" and "looking flat in clothes even though you're at a DD now" can be confusing. Make sure you take your time and don't let anyone rush you! I can't wait to dive into some rice sizers myself :D
Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on your journey :)

Thank you for the welcome! It is comforting to see other women of similar size as myself going through the experience :) Hope you post about your rice sizer results - I'll be on the lookout!

Yay good luck on our decision! I'll be looking for updates!

Thanks! :) Your posts were so helpful to read - hopefully I can help other women considering a BA the same way!
