I'm going to have a breast aug/lift and extended...

I'm going to have a breast aug/lift and extended tummy tuck soon. I have a vertical scar on my stomach already due to gastric bypass a number of years ago and was wondering if there is anyone that had surgery with the same circumstances that would share with me!
Were you happy with the results in spite of the additional scar?

Aug 6, 2013, 5:45am Surgery Center in San Diego. Today is the day! BreastAug/lift, tummy tuck extension.

My boyfriend and my sister drive me to the surgery center in the wee hours of the morning and if that in and of itself isn't love, I don't know what is :)
Even though men's large PJ's were suggested because they are button down the front for easy access I did find a more feminine gown at Kohl's which I'm so glad i did! It's longer to my knees, collared, 3/4 sleeve, very soft cotton black/white tiny floral pattern. Since a men's large was suggested I bought a women's 1x to allow room for drains, etc. and it fit great, it was also quite stylish with the white toeless knee hi stockings I received at the hospital as a parting gift :)
Dr. Pousti arrived ahead of schedule and we reviewed once again, the markings he had the night before. He was/is a professional perfectionist with realistic expectations that we both reviewed and agreed upon several times prior to him taking over right after the wonderful surgical nurses prepared me for my journey to Italy in the next 4, 3, 2, 1 seconds :)
6 1/2 hours later seemed like a blink of an eye!
Dr. Pousti and his team did a superb job of keeping my family informed and updated every 2 hours for the next 24 hours. Most questions and concerns were answered and addressed before they were even asked!
A couple of things that were suggested ahead of time I think should be STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.....and here they are:
1. Hire a caregiver for the first day/night. Even though you have loved ones/friends that will help ......USE the caregiver the first night at least! Best money you'll spend.....and then day 2 they can explain every detail of your care for the next few weeks.
2. Get a riser for the commode. It will be extremely difficult/painful to bend and sit low down so the riser will be a lifesaver. My boyfriend also put a step stool (from those step exercises you do) in from of the toilet for my feet/legs to rest on and it took the pressure off of everything so that I could relax and not tense up while using the restroom.
3. BREATHE DEEPLY EVERY HOUR. Slow, deep breaths will help relax you.
4. PADDLE YOUR FEET back and forth about 10 times an hour. This is great for circulation!
5. BEND OVER USING A WALKER! Don't try to walk hunched over on your own at first. LET PEOPLE HELP YOU! If you don't then you are not only depriving yourself
but depriving your friends/family the gift of giving/helping :)

By day 3 I really started feeling better and it's been better and better each day.
Although Dr. Pousti and his staff had called me each and every day several times a day he also came to visit me Saturday morning after his son's Karate lesson! Dr. Pousti is a remarkable human being and I admire him so much for dedicating his life to 2 things.......his family and helping people.....and in seeing examples of both you can see how he is blessed and has managed to care for those important in his life.....
