I'm just under 2 weeks pre-op - Full Tummy Tuck...

I'm just under 2 weeks pre-op - Full Tummy Tuck with Lipo of the flanks. I've had 4 children, all huge babies (closer to 10lbs than 8), that I carried almost completely in the front so I've been left with a pretty severe case of diastatis recti and loose wrinkly skin (not to mention stretch marks but I see those as a badge of honor).

I've been working really hard for about 2 and half years so as to avoid having surgery to no avail, my tummy sticks out no matter what. I'm in pretty good shape otherwise and according to my consults, don't really have much more body fat to lose even (scale says I'm 19% bf). I think I could stand to lose another 10 pounds or so but I've been at this weight (140 lbs) for the past year more or less so it must be where I'm supposed to be.

I'm a little freaked out now that I've decided and scheduled to do the procedure. Worried about the scar (will it be something else I don't like about my body and how much?), recovery (going back to work, being constipated when I already have enough trouble in that department, losing my hard gained muscle mass). I have such a short torso and wide waist (5"3, 31 inches) that I feel the need to remind myself to be realistic in my expectations - this isn't going to give me an hourglass figure I've never had. Not to mention all the horror stories (that apparently happen quite a bit): saromas, infection, necrosis, etc. So, if any one is listening, would love to hear some feedback on a couple of things:

1. Did folks buy extra compression garments pre-op? For Stage 1 and Stage 2? Medical grade or is Spanx sufficient for stage 2? And some folks say not to wear them for too much past 8 weeks post - would love to see results with/without. They're pretty expensive (and ugly) so I want to make sure I'm investing in the right type.
2. I train pretty hard, 3 days a week heavy lifting (barbell cleans/squats), 3 days a week high intensity (sprints, box jumps). How soon can I get back to this level?

Gained 5 lbs! pre-op

I relaxed a little too much last week and, since I gained 5 lbs, am worried how it might affect my results. Looking at other pics is Not helping - I feel like I should be smaller than I am. Planning to avoid coffee and alcohol this week and burn extra calories, up to the day prior if it's not ill advised. Maybe that'll help. Also starting Arnica and Bromelain. More questions: My pre-op appt isnt until Thursday (less than a week before) is that odd? And I'm planning to ask if my hernia repair can be covered by my insurance (UHC/Aetna) - has anyone else's?

Nervous!

I'm totally stressing about last minute things! Just read that a liquid diet the day prior (which is tomorrow for me) helps reduce chances of constipation/bloating/painful gas. But then won't it be important to have more caloric density since I'll be fasting the day of?
