12 WEEKS POST OP - Perkysets
12 WEEKS POST OP - Sorry it's been so long since I've updated last, but I've been busy recovering and clothes shopping! Yes, I'm still here and much happier since my BR surgery. It's made such a HUGE difference in my life because I look and feel so much better than I did just three months ago. I am much lighter on the scale and feel much healthier as a result.
My recovery was very challenging at times, but I always tried to remind myself that my end result would be worth a little pain and discomfort. I did have a superficial opening on the underside of my left breast, at the t-joint, a month after my surgery so that had me slightly miserable during my 2nd month post op. It did close up on its own and things are good now. That's another reason I didn't want to update my profile because that short time had me not feeling my normal perky self!!
I cannot begin to explain how much better it is to not have those huge, heavy weighing me down and all that extra weight on my shoulders (over 2 lbs. was removed from each breast). That's really a lot of breast weight when you stop and think about it! The chronic shoulder pain I was dealing with the past several years disappeared the morning of my surgery! That is a miracle in itself. My right breast is a little larger than my left one, but my doctor says to remember, “They are sisters, not twins”! He makes me laugh!
Once again I can enjoy the thrill of clothes shopping and not be disgusted when I look in the mirror at my reflection. It's so fun being able to wear almost anything I want again, including bikini tops for the first time in twenty years? My husband LOVES my new smaller breasts as well, and trust me, he never complained about the larger ones...he just finds these much more appealing!
I would say to anyone on the fence contemplating this surgery - just do it. You will be so happy you did once it’s all said and done. I know that I feel so thrilled with my results and have not once missed the old girls once. I just can’t believe I lugged them around for as long as I did.
I want to give a big shout out to my plastic surgeon for being such a ROCKSTAR!! Thanks again Dr. Pousti for such a positive change in my life. You are truly an expert at what you do and I cannot begin to thank you enough. You are the best!

Hi Friends, Well I’m 3 weeks post op and just...
Hi Friends,
Well I’m 3 weeks post op and just wanted to let you know I’m still here and doing well. Sorry for the delay in updating but last week was a rough one for me. I returned to work last Monday and completely overdid it which put me back horizontal for the remainder of the week. Luckily, I’m able to work remotely from home so that’s been a lifesaver.
I was feeling a lot of discomfort and a lot of tightness across my chest which had me panicking and stressing myself out much more so than necessary. My doctor assured me all of this will pass, I just need to realize I have had a major invasive surgery and need time to recover. I also was off the pain meds so I was up and down. He reassured me that I’m fine and am healing up beautifully but need to slow down and rest. “Patience is a virtue”, and I need to remind myself of this daily!!
I love my new breasts. It’s such wonderful feeling to be small again. I am able to fit into so many cute tops and have lost a total of 13 pounds to date! I’m back in the 140 club again, so I’ve reached my goal weight, “woo hoo”!!! My steri strips were removed from below my breasts but not in the nipple area just yet. I’m posting one picture for my 3 week post op photo. I couldn’t be more thrilled with my results. Thank you Dr. Pousti for giving me the results I hoped and prayed for.
Thanks for all the support and women reaching out to me. As I’ve said before, I only wish I had done this sooner, but the timing was not right and for good reason. The right doctor is “key” in this journey. I will not lie, the recovery can be challenging at times, but you just need to remind yourself to be patient and gentle with yourself and once feel yourself turning that corner - it’s a beautiful thing. I think I’m finally there!

Sorry to hear you wore yourself out, it's a good thing you could work from home the rest of the week. It's so deceptive, this recovery process. You wake up one day and feel great and think you're back to normal, get busy and then find that no, you're not. I think we've all been there. Best just to take it easy and be gentle on ourselves :) Your girls look stunning by the way!
Thanks so much. Yes, the recovery process is tricky. I find myself really up and then down because I want to be 100% back to normal and am not there yet. Thank God my doctor told me horizontal this weekend, resting, otherwise I would have been sneaking around trying to do more. Guess what, I totally took his advice and layed all weekend. Felt sooooooo good!
Hi Perkysets! :) Congratulations on being in the 140 club!!!!! That is my goal too, and I know I will reach it after I recover from my BR. Again, Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL new small, perky BOOBIES!! The more I read about others experiences, the more I am motivated to truly force myself to rest (except for the PS recommended 5-10 walks each hour that I am awake). I have read SO many reviews and posts documenting how vitally important resting is at the beginning of your recovery and also as you transition back into regular activities. My husband has scheduled himself off for the first 8 days of my recovery, and he's a really good caretaker, so while I hate to burden him with all the responsibilities of our family and lifestyle, I am going to try to rest as much as possible until he has to go back to work. I can work from home for the first month, so I'll try to use that to my advantage as well. I think it is easy for us women, who regularly take on more than we should, to continue that trend while trying to heal from BR. My BR is on April 11th (getting closer!!!) and I can't wait!! Thanks for the update Perkysets!! Glad to hear you are well, aside from overdoing it. Wishing you comfort and lots of opportunities to rest as you continue to recover. :)
* that was supposed to say 5-10 MINUTE walks each hour that I am awake. :)
Lucky you, 8 days w/hubby home to care for you:-). Be careful though, when you're on those meds, you feel so much better and can easily fool yourself into doing more than you should. Rest, rest, rest and try not to worry about the little things that can wait. I'm slowly learning that today!! Thank you for your kind thoughts.
I will remember your words, and I will try to rest lots after my BR. lol... 2 things I keeps seeing over and over: Rest, and Laxatives!!! Words to live by lol!!
Thank you for a great review. I'm scared to death as I m nearing the big day next week tuesday. What you've gone through gives me the much needed courage and relaxation. Thank you again. Rose4076
Please don't be scared, be excited. Your life is about to change for the better. I completely relaxed my last week prior to surgery, knowing I was in good hands. You will wake up to a much smaller you. It's amazing to see and feel such a difference. Your first few weeks of recovery can be challenging, just try to rest and let others do for you. Catch up on good movies and just enjoy sleeping and doing a whole lot of nothing!! I will be thinking of you and can't wait to see your results. Imaginary hugs my friend.
Yes Rose have no fear!!! Its really an easy procedure, just be sure you afford yourself the time to rest post op!! You will do great. Keep up with all of us ladies here so you can be prepared for the healing process. Big one have your laxative, stool softner & smooth move tea or miralax on hand for sure!!! Good luck, you will soon be in the SBCC!!!
Perky you rock!!! Awesome weight losd, hope to join you in the 140 Club again too :)
You are funny and your results are awesome! This website is great for us in the SBCC! That is too cute! YOU ROCK 2!
Thank you. It helps to hear from you ladies!
Just what I need, thank you for the advice.
Your new girls look wonderful - congratulations! So sorry you over-did it though but a good thing that you can work from home. Remember to rest lots as well though :)
Thanks. Yours look great as well. What a difference for both of us, right? Hope that hematoma is settling down. I am taking is easy now. Unfortunately, had to learn the hard way, but I'm listening to my body now and learning to take it much easier. Hope all is well.
Aah, mutual [RS bleep] appreciation! The haematoma is slowly resolving thanks. There is more sensation coming back into that boob and the bruising is still coming out. This all means that it's more uncomfortable than it was before but I take that as a good thing as it means that it is healing - if a little more slowly than I was expecting. I'm still getting really tired though and feel like I could sleep for days if I had the chance! Glad to read that you are taking things more easily.
You new boobs are fantastic and they're a perfect fit for your frame! I bet it looks like you lost 15 lbs. I definitely think you had a bigger "before" cup size than 36DDD, though. I had 34Ks and my doc took out about 2 lbs from each side, putting me at a 34FF now. Once you're healed up enough for underwire bras, you should check out this guide: http://bustyresources.wikia.com/wiki/How-to_determine_bra_size
Thanks for the info. I will have to check that website out. I went yesterday and just bought some cheapie's that were super soft from Target. I don't want to spend alot of money right now since the breast shape will probably change within the next 6 months to year from what I hear. I think my cup size was larger as well, but it's not anymore!! It's a very hard recovery though. I'm only 6 weeks post op and am still challenged with pain and little things here and there, but the end result is sooooooo worth it. Good luck w/your recovery.
