I am a 21 Year Old, mother of one. My daughter was happily breastfed for two and a half years and although a wonderful experience, my breasts definitely took the toll. While pregnant and for the months following childbirth, I jumped from a perky small B cup to an engorged and stretch marked DD cup. Although I felt that this was a little too much for my tall, slender frame I wasn’t prepared for what was to come. Needless to say, over the course of the next two years, I rapidly deflated from that DD cup to a very pitiful A cup. As I said earlier, I am 21 and while, yes, a mother, it took a toll on me to look in the mirror every day and feel ashamed for the little flaps of breasts I had. With that being said, it is safe to say that a breast augmentation was something I had contemplated for a very long time. But the cost was always a factor. It wasn’t that I didn’t have that money, it’s that I wasn’t comfortable spending that amount in one sitting without absolute certainty I would have what I wanted. Looking back today, it is something I would pay ten million times over! This is why-

About a month before the day of surgery I started on my quest, researching every surgeon in the area, stalking their real self-profiles, their webpage galleries, any and everything that would come up. Good and bad. In doing so, I found three surgeons that I was interested in. Dr. Young and Dr. Lawton being the first two I had consult with. The difference between these two was that Dr. Young had actually done my friends surgery and had a lot more “REAL SELF,” posts than Dr. Lawton and I wont lie… these two things alone had almost sold me on Dr. YOUNG before even meeting Dr. Lawton…. (READ ON PLEASE!)

Come consult day, I arrived to Dr. Young’s crowded office and thought to myself, “my god, this man must be great to be seeing as many patients as he does,” but with that very thought, I looked around that crowded office to notice that we were all surrounded by walls commending, not Dr. Young, but Dr. Lawton! [Although, there is a section devoted to Dr. Young’s accomplishments, we are talking about an office of at least 6 walls from which a “Top Surgeon of 2014, 201…. Dr. Lawton,” plaque hangs from.] But I saw past this and walked into that consult office convinced that Young was my guy. Immediately after, his nurse rushed in, went through a series of well rehearsed procedures and before I could even think of questions, had left the room with a video of the procedure playing, and the sizers in my hand for me to go through. As I could hear Dr. Young bouncing from room to room, I really had no idea what I was doing. Yes, trying on sizers seems trivial but its not, when you have a tiny bit of asymmetry and no earthly idea of how true sizers are to fit. Nonetheless, in comes Dr. Young appearing rushed and maybe even annoyed (as anticipated by some of his real self reviews). Immediately, looked in my bra and blurted out.. “500, you could maybe do 650.” Within 5 minutes, he was gone. Consult over. I left reassuring myself that he was the expert and ultimately I guess it was my decision, but those sizes left a 150cc gap and I didn’t feel informed or confident as I thought I would. I had planned to go in and leave with a size in mind and surgery scheduled- neither of which had come to fruition.

The very NEXT day I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Lawton, after all, you have to be doing something right to have all of those recognitions and despite the fact that he hadn’t entertained the, “real self,” profile idea, I wanted to see what was so applauded. And let me tell you this, even that step alone- the consultation- was the best decision that I had made and I stand by that statement today. During the consultation, I wasn’t rushed back to a room to try on sizers, watch a silly procedural video and wait for the doctor… I was instead, walked to an office where Dr. Lawton met with me, personally discussed the procedure (good and bads alike) as well as individually assessed and personalized a plan fit for my hopes, my desires and my concerns. The conversation lasted about 20 minutes, maybe more, before I was escorted back to the same room I had been in the day before. This time, however, accompanied by a patient, polite and fabulous nurse and Dr. Lawton as well.

Phase two of my consult, included measuring and addressing the asymmetry I had tried to the day earlier. Along with that, the nurse was adding and subtracting different sizers as Dr. Lawton guided and took notes through the variations while offering his suggestions, opinions and surgical experiences. In the end we settled on a size between 600-650. (PHEW! A 50cc GAP) By the end of that consult I felt that Dr. Lawton had a thorough understanding of what it was that I wanted, the look that I was desiring and the best route to get there. I felt like he was a friend, like I could have very well hugged him by the end of that visit and it was so reassuring! I scheduled my surgery that day and said goodbye to a nice bit of money, with CONFIDENCE. Today, I am beyond happy with that decision and my vested faith in Dr. Lawton. This augmentation was an investment and one that I felt completely secure in. And security is a wonderful thing especially as the big day approaches. By surgery day I was more ready than ever! That morning I woke up with normal apprehensions and a little sadness to be saying farewell to life with the little’s I had known but it felt like I went in, closed my eyes and woke up with all that I had been waiting for. Long story short- this breast augmentation was the most rewarding journey, besides motherhood, that I have ever experienced.

My recovery was a process in its own, but life post BA is a lot more enjoyable and a lot more carefree, so despite the feeling of prolonged healing every now and again, I can say that I was more consumed with the overwhelming happiness of just having them, and as perfect as I could’ve imagined. Ultimately, Dr. Lawton decided to fill my implant to 600cc, why not 650, I guess he saw something that inclined him otherwise and I rightfully respect that decision because I feel like I have exactly what I asked for. In the month and a half following surgery, I met with Dr. Lawton week after week and each week was more impressed with the results. The dropping process takes some time and Dr. Lawton always left my room with this statement, “they’ll get even better.” Yet another statement he has proven to be true. That is something you will grow very fond of! He is consistent, he is honest, he is methodical and he is a perfectionist. During this process I met a friend who had her BA performed by Dr. Lawton as well, (we met in the waiting room and swooned over each others results) we are in constant communication, exchanging progression photos, talking each other through different questions, etc. At some point I sent her a nude shot of the girls and she responded with a photo of hers, we literally put them side by side and compared to find that we had almost IDENTICAL results, to the same shape, cleavage, and spacing. Its pretty ironic and something I really amounted to a greater appreciation for our surgeon. Any surgeon for that matter that can duplicate their results to that level, is one that… well, earns that many recognitions. All in all, I have had a seamless experience, a wonderful recovery and an even more enchanting road ahead. Today was my final week-to-week check up and I am now moved to monthly checkups, bittersweet little moment as I always looked forward to the next week at Dr. Lawton’s office! If I had one thing to say to a friend, to a person in passing, to a lady in the grocery store (which I HAVE) it’s to go see Dr. Lawton, at very least for a consultation. If from that point, you don’t leave convinced that he is your guy…. Well I couldn’t tell you because I have yet to see that happen! Happy Journeys to you all! Stay informed and stay true to what it is that YOU are looking for!

Response from Dr. Lawton:
There is so much subtlety that can be achieved with a breast augmentation if the patient's perception of what they want to achieve is the driving force. Listening carefully and taking into account all of the technical considerations and meshing them with the patient's desired outcome is critical to the success of the process, which patient satisfaction. We are so happy that we were able to interpret your vision into your desired outcome. Thank you!

Hi! Your results are amazing and totally the look I'm going for with my breast aug. What are your stats (weight, height)? And roughly what cup size are you now? I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks :)

Hi Sandra! Thank you so much! I'm 5'8 and about 130lbs, pretty lengthy. I got sized at 3 weeks (which I'm sure I wasn't supposed to) at a 34D. VS is known to be a little generous so I think it could fluctuate between a C & D. Although I bought my first VS underwire at a 34DD. I feel like a D is a pretty safe average though.

I agree with Sandra! Love your results. I'm going in for op in a few weeks, but almost certain I'm going with silicon. Are your implants saline? (May be silly question considering your user ID, but just want to be sure.) If so, what made you go with saline over silicon? Appreciate any feedback, like I said I really love your results and want to get any input I can. Thanks again!

I hope your surgery went well! I'm assuming by this time your surgery date has passed. I went with saline as a preference of Dr. Lawton, during the initial preop he had a lot of literature and good reasons as to why he preferred saline. It wasn't set on either one going into the pre-op meeting but ultimately I left choosing saline. I have felt both, a friend of mine went with silicone, and to be honest the difference was not at all noticeable with each of ours being under the muscle.

It will definitely be a process! I had pretty terrible frankenboob for at least the first month. it wasn't just because I had saline. A friend of mine that went with silicone had the same, if not worse, frankenboob! It's all a drop and fluff process that may take longer for some, but there's no real guessing as to what the results will look like until after the first month.

How long after your consultation did you have your surgery?

I had surgery RIGHT away! I was so excited and everything felt so right after the consultation I scheduled the preop for a few days later and had surgery a week to the day shortly after that! I had a small reservation thinking that maybe I was moving too fast, but looking back now I wasn't moving fast enough! Lol

Also did dr Lawton give you the option of saline and silicone and you chose saline for personal reasons or was saline your only option due to age with dr L?
