In a nutshell, ClearCorrect was a great choice and an excellent alternative to metal braces. I had them as a teenager but never actually wore my retainers so my teeth slipped right back into their old crooked homes. I was really impressed going through this process and found it very easy. I wondered how the ClearCorrect solution would compare to Invisalign and I am glad to have done it.
One of the things that I was appreciative of was the very first set of trays I received. I believe it was called Stage 0. This allowed me to get used to having the plastic retainers in my mouth (and it took more getting used to than I thought!) before my teeth actually started moving. By my first set of active trays, I was already used to the sensation, so the pressure and mild pain I experienced when my teeth started to move was not too overwhelming! I started seeing results within the first couple of trays and that was very motivating.
When it was time to switch trays and pick up a new set from Dr. Stringfellow, they were always on time and I never had to wait any longer than I needed to. My trays always fit perfectly, tight the first few days and then gradually getting looser the next few weeks. I never got off track, or needed new impressions, which I had heard horror stories about on the Internet!
The only thing that caught me off-guard was when I got my second set of engagers on two of my front teeth. I felt like they were extremely noticeable (they were the two teeth that needed to do most of the moving) but I quickly found out that other people had no idea that they were there unless I specifically pointed it out. For the most part, no one even knew I had in aligners at all and were shocked when I told them I was 6 months into the procedure.
I was also concerned that the IPR procedure would change the way my teeth looked and was nervous about doing it. I thought they’d look off compared to the other teeth that weren’t touched. But again, this was also not noticeable one the procedure was done.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience! Dr. Stringfellow was also great to work with and kept me informed every step of the way. I am just ecstatic and so much more confident with my new smile. Thank you!
