Getting ready to go in for surgery in a week. I...

Getting ready to go in for surgery in a week. I say I "luckily" had an issue with my lap band bothering me so I am going in for a fix with that and at the same time having the Tummy tuck and getting lipo of my upper thighs since I am in there! I have never had kids, just lost weight due to having the lap band surgery in 2008. Have some extra skin and still some fat I would like removed.

Tommorrow is the day! 6/25/14 9:30 surgery time

Getting myself ready to go in for the surgery tomorrow! I was looking at videos and the nurse Jenn said not to do that cause it looks worse than it really is!!! :) I took some before pictures and will get some after pictures as well. I live alone which can be a good thing and a bad thing! I have my mother staying with me for 2 days and my sister and a friend both live 5 minutes away so I think I will be okay! My friends say not to hesitate to call, and I won't if I need to. I have been going to a personal trainer since February ( small group classes) and have really gotten some good tone ion my arms and have really gotten in to a routine! Im worried that I will lose what I have gained while not working out for 6 weeks! I am going to miss going to classes! I feel like Im breaking up with a boyfriend or something LOL! Has anyone had any experience with exercise after? I am definitely going to get out and walk.. but weights are going to be tough!

1 week post -op!

went for my 1 week post op appointment. Met with the nurse Jenn who was very nice. I tried to convince her that my drains were slowing but she didnt feel comfortable taking either of them out at this visit! booo! I have to say that the drains are what are the most uncomfortable part of this whole thing! She says everyone is different, but god they hurt! Im walking fine, feeling good. Stopped taking my pain meds consistently after about 3 days, moved to just at bed time, now I just take 1 at bedtime If my DRAINS are hurting! My friends come to visit and think they are going to see me laying in bed moaning and keeled over! its funny, but they can't believe how good im doing after just a week. I even had an interview to go to today, with the drains all tucked in!
I get tired quick when Im out, But it feels good to get out for a little while.
Nurse says I can drive since Im no longer taking pain meds. Still feel a little cautious with that.
So, I have to say, I could not have done the first week without : WEDGE for my bed for sleeping, A walker ( more so than a can cause the cane puts too much pressure on just one side), Those AB pads that they give you when you leave the hospital! ( Ask for EXTRA) they help so much to pad the binder or put under the drains to protect your skin!,
The compression garment they put me in when I was out cold right after surgery was WAY too tight and Dr. Cooper took it off me as soon as he came in to check on me the next day. I would suggest getting one of your own ( with an opening for going to the bathroom) cause I have been pulling mine up and down and with no strength its really annoying and tiring!
Hmmm what else!? Lots of water! ice chips( stop and shop has ice chips that are smaller/in a purple bag in the frozen section i think/or ask.. those got me through!!) , Yogurt, especially with taking all these antibiotics ..
I can make a good full list if people are interested.. but Im not sure who is reading :) So Illl post a couple pictures. These are from about 3 days post-op . .and I put them against my pre-op pics.
I joked with the Nurse that my legs look the same as they did before! She says that everyone says that!! and that it takes weeks to see full results. lots of swelling now!I guess Im impatient!
I feel surprisingly good though! Just want the drains out!!!!!

The process with Dr. Cooper and Adrienne and the after care nurse Jenn has been smooth, simple and pretty much awesome! I cant wait! I will be posting some before pictures very soon. My meeting with Dr. Cooper was very laid back and to the point. He didnt try to "sell" me any other procedure than the one that I was looking for. I liked his personality and candidness. He is confident and sure of his work in a good way! ( Which is what we want right??). He told it how it is and didnt sugar coat anything. I was his last patient of the day and he said he could stay as long as I needed for him to answer any questions I had. I didnt feel rushed and he answered every questions honestly. He knew my bariatric surgeon since they are next door to each other and he said he would email him personally to make sure everything was all set with the band revision before going forward. That put me at ease as well. Day of surgery Dr. Cooper came in, did what he had to do for markings, answered my questions and told me as much as I needed to know and made sure I was comfortable. Right before I went in he told me I would do great! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Cooper. I love everyone in his office Adrienne is awesome, his nurse Jenn, and I just really liked Dr. Cooper's sense of humor and professionalism combined ( Which you can indeed have both as a surgeon) . Overall great experience with Dr. Cooper and his team.
