5 Days Post-Op Weight Loss Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation - Rockford, IL

ORIGINAL POST

Pre Surgery I am a 25 year old female who has...

WORTH IT$12,840

Pre Surgery
I am a 25 year old female who has lost 155+ lbs over the past 5 years through diet and exercise. I underwent a tummy tuck and breast augmentation Wednesday 11-7 to remove loose skin and fill up my empty "pockets" where my large chest used to be. I am very active and exercise 4-5 times per week. The skin would continue to accumulate and the more weight I lost the worse it would look. I have not had children, which was my biggest concern. However I have worked too hard not to be satisfied with my body. The excess skin made my body appear deformed and it was worth it to me to get the surgery even before childbirth. I am single and not looking to get married or have kids anytime soon anyways,

Evening of Operation: Wednesday 11-7
I stayed in the surgery center to recover for about 2 hours then went home. I was extremely uncomfortable. My throat hurt terribly from the breathing tube. Coughing was excruciating in my mid section. I had 450 CCs placed above the muscle and to be honest, I really didn't feel those at all. The tubes placed by my incision were awkward. I was prescribed Norco and that helped the pain some. i also took Motrin. Sleeping sitting up was the most uncomfortable.

Post Op Day 2: Friday 11-9
I had been experiencing a terrible burning pain by my left drain site. I would move a certain way and the pain was so intense I couldn't move any part of my body. My PS had me go back to the office to have her nurse check my incision. Incision was fine, but the pain was coming from my drain moving on the inside. I was told to try to re-position the drain when the pain came on. This helped some. I still have not had a BM and am starting to feel very uncomfortable. I got on the scale and was SHOCKED to see I weighed 15 lbs more than I did pre-surgery. My nurse told me that was normal but it was still very difficult to understand. Again, my chest feels fine. I also took a shower with the assistance of my mother. This was very uncomfortable but felt so good after.

Post Op Day 3: Saturday 11-10
Finally had a BM today! I have been drinking lots of water and taking Dulcolax, Still feeling the burning sensation by my drain sight. The pain is almost indescribable. I also feel a lot of pain by my belly button area when I try to sit up. I have limited my Norco intake to 3 a day to try to help with the constipation. My back hurts a lot as well from sleeping sitting up. I try to get up and walk every few hours to keep blood moving. My drains are releasing less and less so hopefully I will get them removed on Thursday when I go back.

Hi dear.. Well done for doing this.. Looking fab already.. I'm also 25 same situation a you post op.. I would love kids in the Next 2 years but worried if its worth doing before or not.. Sorry to hear you're still in pain.. Reading the post off others.. It's seems its part of the process and it would pass.. Good on you..;)

Hang on and things will get easier soon. The first week is the absolute worst and soon the drains will come out.

Your results are so beautiful. Sorry about the painful drains. I'm 7 PO , I get mine out tomorrow at 3 pm. I'm so looking forward to that. I don't know if this will help you but I found a wedge at Bed bath & beyond ( they were $29 each). I bought 2 and stacked them on top of each other. After day 3, I took one of them off, which laid me a little flatter. I had a thick pillow under my knees as well. That has helped my back tremendously. Wish you well:-)
Thank you for the suggestion! Good luck with getting the drains out, I am very jealous! Wish you all the best!
Post Op Day 5: Monday 11-11 I am feeling much more mobile today. It is a lot easier to get up and move around and the burning by my drain site has gone down. However, my hips look a lot wider than they used to be. Is that normal!? I know they say your waist is smaller so the ratio is off, but my hips really ARE larger. Is this a common swelling spot? I am also weighing in 10 lbs heavier than the morning of my surgery and my pre-op jeans still do not fit. Very frustrating and not what I expected. My yoga pants and I are concerned!
You look very good!! Your results will each day too. Hang in there. I'm just a week ahead of your post op. It's no picnic but we can do it!
