WORTH IT$7,500
Late last year I had a BBL done by Dr. Wilberto Cortes and my results are less than desirable. The lipo left my belly deformed to a point it's hard to camoflauge, even in clothes. I never thought I'd have a second cosmetic procedure and here I am, just under a year later, scheduled to have a tummy tuck. I learned some hard lessons last time and have approached this surgery entirely different. I met with several surgeons and did a TON of research before moving forward with actually scheduling the surgery. I am currently scheduled for 17 Sept. and I'm super excited to fix this mess and hopefully feel sexy again. My pre-op is Aug. 31st. It'll all be happening before I know it.
I'm not including the surgeon by name, just yet. He's not into public advertising and I admire that about him. I'd like to get his input on RealSelf before I start putting his name out there. I don't suspect he'll have an issue since it's more word of mouth but i don't want to assume. However, he's a wonderful man. So boldly honest and down to earth. He chatted with me for an entire hour before he even did a physical exam. His consult was free, yet he spent 2.5 hours with me that day. I was so impressed by him, in every way. I'm super excited to work with someone I genuinely trust, medically.

I'm in the same situation as you, I had a form of lipo last year, only to be left with more loose skin and folds and a protuding tummy, I never liked my apperance before Lipo but now I hate it. Like you I researched for a good surgeon after the bad lipo (I am based un the UK) and after endless researching on here, I found a surgeon, who advised I had a Hernia, and needed a muscle repair and off course tummy tuck.
I never thought like you, that I would be having a second cosmetic procedure. Mine is in November, I have a wave of emotions from being excited, frightened, leaving my hubby and child to feeling selfish. This website is helping me deal with all those things as I am not the only one to have those feelings.
Sending you best wishes for the operation.

Wishing you the very best. It sucks to go through a major surgery(not to mention spending all of that money) just to end up looking worse.

Oh wow. That's a crazy coincidence. I wasn't even sure it went together. I just pieced it together off of the clearance rack at Target. Lol I must say you wear it MUCH better though. ;)

Before pics.
Tomorrow is exactly one week from my surgery day. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I am finally getting around to posting some before pictures. They don't really do justice to just how bad my belly looks but they are what I've got. You can see in the one where I'm bent over, that there are Lots of lips marks and all kinds of crazy folds in the skin. There is also a really bad one to my side that you can see in the picture where I turned facing the left. The lumps and bumps and unevenness isn't portrayed very well but it's bad.

Is that what that indent is, from the cannula? I have that same mark on both sides and here I thought I had some formation in my abs in some way, lmao.. yeah right. Stupid Cortes man. I hate my half assed tt job he did on me. I'm glad you found another dr to fix you all up. Cortes did sloppy on you, I really don't think he knows WTF he's doing. He needs to just stop already. I keep reading these not happy customers of his, that should tell you something

Yep. I had a very clear canula marking. When I had my tummy tuck it was made A LOT better but they couldn't fix it 100%. Dr. Cortes used to do good work but I think he got pretty popular and got greedy. He rushes through them and does have assed work to get as many surgeries in as possible. He doesn't care about this patients AT ALL and is putting out botched jobs left and right. He's never been good at tummy tucks. SMH. I'm sorry he screwed you too!

Tomorrow is the Big Day
I'm SO excited! In less than 12 hrs. I will be headed to the OR. I paid the final bit (Anesthesia) today and picked up my post-op meds. I think I've got everything I need. I'm as ready as I'm gonna get. Now let's get the show on the road.

I'm so happy for you.......Good luck on your recovery.....my date is December 18.......I will be following you.....

Before;
I would recommend strength training, not just boot camp, but actual weights. You will hear a lot of women having a hard time sitting and standing from the toilet. I didn't, I had very strong legs. You want to strengthen all over really. You'll need your legs & ass to stand easier and you'll need your arms to help lift or reposition yourself at times. Strengthening your back will help, but it will still hurt from being hunch over. :)
You'll want to be properly hydrated before and the more "regular" you are the better.
Eat good the night before, but not anything that will make you gassy or bloated.
Day of and after;
Have help and accept help. My husband was able to be home with me for almost a week after, then my kids were home for spring break my second week (but they are useless ;) ) but it was nice not having to worry about school.
I wore a button down shirt, soft cup bra (so I could sleep in it) and very loose sweat pants and slip on shoes to the hospital. They had to dress me before leaving. I brought a pillow and trash can for the ride home. I live a hour away. I think I slept, used the pillow, thankfully I didn't throw up so I didn't need the trash can.
Foods;
Water Water Water!!! I drank lots of water with fresh lemon slices (diuretic).
Don't eat foods that make you gassy or bloated!! Eat smaller portions.
Keep it simple. Meats, veggies, fruits, nuts, healthy fats. Low sodium.
For me I avoided protein shakes and bars. Also breads, pastas, and most grains make me bloated and gassy so I avoided them like the plague. I can handle minimal Ezekiel bread.
I highly recommend a shower stool and a shower head that is the handle kind. I was told to shower the next day, but I didn't. I told him I wasn't, but we had to take off the binders to look and tell him how it looked.
I don't wash my hair but once or twice a week normally, so it was easy for me not to shower very often. The first few times you will want the stool, I've never been so exhausted in my life!!!
I bought big panties to wear after, but didn't need them, my low cut ones worked better.
I wore a soft tank top under my binders. I lived in my soft cup bra, tank top, binders, and a nightgown for the first couple weeks, oh and panties. ;D I have 2 boys, so I have to keep it all covered and contained, lol. If I had to leave the house I worn large baggy sweats and a 2x men's button down shirt. It kept everything all hid and covered.
Keep on top of pain meds, I kept some on the table next to me at night so I could take them and not have to get up in the middle of the night.
Ultimately keep it simple, accept help, REST and Water, Water, Water. You'll figure out what works for you. I'm excited for you!!
Sorry for writing a book...did I mention to drink lots of water? ;)
