Hi Melissa,

Wow another "Vertically Challenged" woman.  That is what my hubby calls me because I am also 5"-1.

I also had a c-section and the pain is completely different.  Each person is different in how they respond to and handle pain.  So what I felt could be completely different for you.  Yes it does hurt and you will need time to heal.   Two weeks for healing is cutting it close but it can be done if necessary.  I recommend 3-4 weeks if you are able to swing it.    Each person is different though.  Your body takes a complete year to totally heal but you should be feeling pretty good by six weeks post op.

Some do go through a little depression but not everyone.  I would call it more of the blues than anything.  You will have happy moments and then weepy moments.  Just know it is normal and will pass.  Just roll with it when it happens and you will be fine.  Go into this with moderate and reasonable expectations and you will be fine.  Do not expect to be up and running in two weeks or to have your clothes fit quickly.  It all takes time but will be very much worth it in the end.

I am extremely happy I had all of my procedures and wold do it again if necessary.

thanks so much. I truly want this but I dont want to regret it.can you sleep on ur stomach within a few months? I will schedule it for sept. how do i know he is the right doctor?

I was sleeping on my side by 8 weeks and my tummy by 4 months.  Just try it from time to time and you will know when your body is ready.  If it hurts then you are not ready.

If the doctor has all of the proper credentials, has shown you previous work he has done, answers all your questions, makes you feel at ease, is patient with you, does not ask for a ton of money right up front, is not pushy or flashy he is the right doctor.

It is something you will just know in your heart when you are meeting with him.  I met with six surgeons and was getting really frustrated.  Call me crazy but if that gut and heart feeling are not there run.  It is hard to explain but you will just know it when it hits you.

Do all of the research up front before you meet with the doctor.  And then when you have the consult go through your questions and just listen to what he is saying.   And be aware of how you are feeling.  I know that money is a big factor but try to keep the price out of your decision.

Hi! we live not that far apart! im from buffalo my TT is on march 1st 2 days away. ive had 2 ce sections ive heard it will be similar but its a much bigger incision. im 5ft 4in and stuck at 155lbs i really wanted to lose some weight before but havent had any luck my PS told me my results are going to be great. have your chosen a surgeon yet? i recommend Dr. Andrew Giacobbe (my PS) from williamsville- excellent surgeon answers all your questions his staff is wonderful. and I would say give it at least a month before you are doing things on your own-i personally havent had the surgery yet but ive read things from all the wonderful ladies on here (they give GREAT advice) and they would def recommend more than 2 weeks before being "semi normal" again.

Hi omg we live less then 2 hours away. I mapquest the surgen and he is only an hour and 15 min and the cost is WOW 2,000 less. Did you see some of his work? im so happy for you. O and your belly is like mine so that is some what good lol because I will look at ur other pic after surgery and see how well he did. I will call him in the am to sit and speek with him. May I have his number. Also how much is his consiltation. Some are free so just curious. Please keep us posted. Oh and I heard about the no drains. Is that an option at that place or your not sure? Thanks so much.
melissa28 27 Feb 2011
also are you having lipo or just tt:} im debating the lipo
ricanmami 27 Feb 2011
hey he has a website www.wnyplasticsurgery.com and the phone number is 716-634-5555. on the website shows some before and after pics. I was shown alot more before and after pics at my consult (which is free) all have excellent results. his fee for me which differs on how much you need is 4,500 and then faculty fee was 1000 and then anesthesiologist is 1122. which isnt bad at all!! most around here wanted like 10,000! i am having 2 drains....ive heard they dont hurt they are just annoying but DEF have a very good purpose (draining all the excess fluids so you are less swollen and dont develop a seroma (fluid build up) )and i forgot if im having lipo i think some lipo in the flank area is just standard procedure with a TT. but im having a full TT
ricanmami 13 Mar 2011
what doc did you end up going with? im 12 days out from my TT and im doing great! the only thing that hurts is my lower back if im up walking or standing too long then i have to sit down. it all depends on how you feel everyone is different so i would just take it day by day and go from there
melissa28 14 Mar 2011
hi I actually went with your doc:} I hope I made the right choice. It scares me that I only seen two. Is he a great doc? your results are awsome. He suggested lipo with me so I am getting that too unlss I lose weight by then:}
Wuldiesgirl 14 Mar 2011
You went with which doctor?
melissa28 14 Mar 2011
I went with ricanmami doc. she lives in buff and I live in roc ny so her doc is only an hour and 15 min.
Wuldiesgirl 14 Mar 2011
Yes but you told me that you went with my doc..that is why I was confused as I am not in NY..lol
melissa28 14 Mar 2011
lol. oh. I thought ricanmami asked what doc i went with. lol. I m still tryingto fiqure out how to use this. lol
Wuldiesgirl 14 Mar 2011
Oh I know what you mean..I am still tryiing too...did you get my email direct to you?
ricanmami 15 Mar 2011
aww thats great!! you are gonna love Dr Andrew Giacobbe he and his staff are awesome... i love them! im 2 weeks out from my TT and i look great and i feel great too. had very little pain more sore than anything, drains are annoying but not painful (hurts somewhat when they get taken out) if i stand or walk too much then my lower back starts hurting alot and i just sit down and take it easy. make sure you have help for at least the first 2 weeks, you will need it.everyone can move/do things faster and/or slower than others so just take your time listen to Dr G and you will be fine =)
ricanmami 15 Mar 2011
and yes he is a GREAT doc!!! and previous to surgery i was 30lbs overweight i didnt have any lipo but still look and feel great so dont be scared (i know easier said than done) but all the hype i think made me think a TT was gonna be so painful but it really wasnt...feel free to shoot me an email for whatever whenever you want
i am mine 13 Mar 2011
Hey.. I am in a similar situation, sort of. I am 5'2" slightly heavier than you (162) and was hoping to lose 20lbs by May... which I have already lost 8. My surgery is scheduled (for May) and now I am worried about having to miss so much work in the "busy season" as I live in a beach town and work in the resturaunt industry. I am at a fairly new job and dont really want to screw it up... However the resturaunt is closed now except for the case of private parties which are few and far between. I am thinking I should just go for it now.... while there is no money to be made and plenty of down time.... BUT, I am also a student. I take all but one class online... and I go twice a wk for only an hour. I am thinking its got to be doable... but, that and my weight are the only things that are holding me back. Everyone else says to wait... and, I am truely torn. I would be able to miss only 1 wk of class (2 classes). Ugh... I know a TT would be hard but, the decision making is proving to be the toughest part.
melissa28 13 Mar 2011
I know what you mean. I think it might be douable to go to class even with the drains in but am so lost as if it would really work out for me. I truly want to just get it done with because i am a wreck and afraid of dying.

I need to lose 20 ponds so bad but never have the time to do it. I have three children plus night school. urg. but lipo is included but still what about my legs? They wont do nor do i want them to do lipo on the legs because its going to be longr to recover.Ill have to think of pros/cons of it all. lol. let me know how u turn out with it all.
Wuldiesgirl 13 Mar 2011
Hi There.
I was just like you..terrified of dying on the table. My hubby was so upset at me talking like that.
HOnestly, I would do this whole thing again in a heartbeat.
The pain is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
I am up and about and even cooking and it's only 5 days post surgery.
I look so good..flat stomach and I can move around better.
I know how you feel, but if you can please try not to worry as there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!Trust me.
Keep in touch
melissa28 13 Mar 2011
aww thanks. I would really like the pain to be like my c-sections because that i know i can handle. Im thinking this pain will be a living hell and trust me , im a big baby when it comes to pain.
Wuldiesgirl 16 Mar 2011
Well it's not Melissa..i am 7 days post op...walking outside/cooking/and looking great..the tubes were a nuisance but other than that nothiing.
I got them out after 5 days and got to have my first shower..Now that didnt feel too good, LOL
Don't worry..>i honestly mean that Melissa
