I am now a month and a half since my tummy tuck....
WORTH IT
I am now a month and a half since my tummy tuck. It has been a very long road. My skin necrosis are begain softening and opening up a week and a half ago. I saw my ps this morning and he removed all the dead stuff so at least now the healing can start. I have been put on a waiting list for a wound vac so I hope that will not take long to get. I am posting a picture that was taken just this morning before the removal if dead tissue and I will post an after the next time I do a dressing change. Thanks for all the concern. I hop it's all going to get better now

It has been over a month now... Things have gotten worse, and will be getting worse soon. The pictures I will post kinda says it all... Holes are beginning to form now.. Everything is very painfull and uncomfortable.. I see my ps in a little over a week at which time we will discuss the plan.. Which basically will consist of debriment and likely a wound vac to heal faster... I am not looking forward to this but it's the only way I guess... I can't wait for all this to be over :)

That looks so painful, my heart goes out to you. I hope it feels like a distant memory soon.
Thank you so much.. I can't wait till its a memory... But truthfully scared of the next few months because I know it needs to get worse before it will get better
I am so sorry you are going through this. I am praying for a fast recovery for you.
Thank you so much
So sad to see you are still having problems! Let me tell you what, you are one heck of a strong woman! I would be freaking out! Did he give you a reason why this happened to you?? Sure hope you get the answers and remedies to fix this!
Im so sorry this has happened to you. Are you or were you a smoker? I ask because I was prior to my surgery and because I was my PS suggested I got what he called a tummy tuck relay which was a minor surgery 30days + before my tummy tuck surgery to prevent necrosis from happening. I had the surgery done on Jan 21 and had my TT, MR and Lipo done 3/11. So far so good but I am still scared that this can happen at any moment. Obviously I am now a ex smoker. I quit the day I wemt to Dr for my consult and find out what could happen. Again im so sorry this has happen and I willl keep you in my prayers that things get better for you and thay your PS can do something immediately to fix this issue..Good luck.
I'm so glad things have gone good for you... And congrats on quiting smoking... I haven't smoked for 13 years. I think sometimes things just happen... Blood flow didn't connect where it needed to... I don't blame my surgeon or anything I did... It happens... I had no idea about necrosis until it actually happened to me... And in researching it now its common... I do hope you carry on well as I'm sure you will :)
I did smoke and had a tummy tuck and my skin dying.Very Painful .Mine started 3 days after surgery. Waiting like you to see what needs to done.Just wondering what your las test up date by your PS has been?

It has been 14 days since I had my tummy tuck. I still continue to have skin dying. Still waiting to see how bad it will be. I am still happy I did this despite these problems because for me living with all the skin I had was not an option.

How did the dying skin happen, was it something that occurred during surgery or with lipo?
I didn't have lipo. Necrosis is a complication that can occur... Not normally in a health person... For what ever reason the area just didn't get the bloodflow. I'm hoping all will be well in the end
hopefully it will, it's already looking better. Keep us posted.
What is your ps saying about it ? Whats the resolution. ?
I saw my ps on Thursday. Everything looks good except for the area that is dying of course... The plan is to let healing run its course and then the ps will remove the dead skin and make it all pretty... Lol... I hope
Any word from Your PS? pls update us, now am a bit worry, all will be well.

Theressa, oh my gosh I am so sorry you have this dying skin issue! I could not imagine having problems like you are having! It looks painful, I really hope it's not! Hang in there and try to stay positive! Hopefully it will all heal with time and you will be totally pleased with your results! Sounds like you are keeping your head up and not regretting the TT... Please keep us posted how you are doing.. Hugs!
Hi... No it's not painfull but only because I'm numb everywhere.... Thankfully... Lol....I just hope it will heal fast so we can do what we need to too fix it up
Good evening Theresa I know you may already know this but from your pics this is NOT normal. You should contact your PS or go to the emergency room. You dont want it to become toooo infected which can be dangerous. You need antibiotics ASAP. GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HEALING
