Retin - A Saved my Self Esteem

I live in Australia and hadn't ever bothered with sunscreen as a result I built up years of sun damage and at 44 ended up with awful skin, pigmentation wrinkles, sunscreen and retin- a use over 2 years has helped soften wrinkles and even out skin tone, I use 0.5% It's a long term commitment , the first couple of weeks I was sore and flaky my skin didn't start to look better for about 6 weeks and then gradually got better and better, it is so important when using this creme to use a good zinc oxide based sunscreen as your skin will burn easy and ruin all your efforts , the eye area responded well and has erased my embedded crows feet, I still have work on my forehead but the result so far is softer, I am booked in for some Botox on the weekend so that will help with those forehead lines, I will continue to use my retin a and sunscreen forever as I am more than happy with results

Still amazing

My skin is still getting better daily, I have had Botox to the forehead since and all the lines have gone completely in the forehead, I am so happy with this creme I will use it forever

Still amazing

Well not quite erased all the wrinkles but lots better
Dr Arge

A tube lasts me about 6 month, so 2 tubes a year at 40 dollars each ....I will never again buy expensive cremes I am now a dedicated sunscreen user and sunscreen is now part of my every day routine ....

Hi Mandy, not sure if you still post here, but hoping maybe you will. I used to use Retin-A years ago and my skin was lovely, not sure why I stopped, but got a script for it and the journey begins. Do you put the cream directly underneath your eyes (delicate part)? I remember reading to not do that, but like I said it was years ago. And if so, are you derma-rolling there too (ouch). What length needles do you use? I'm unsure about the use of Vitamin C- Is it topical or taken orally? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Wow you look years younger. I started using retin a 3 months ago and I feel that it has made a huge difference for me as well. I have started with the lower dose and I have had no problems. My dermatologist prescribed the .025% for me so for people that are having difficulty with redness and irritation try that every other day. I plan on moving up to the .05% next month. Mandy how much botox did you have injected because it looks perfect. I think my Dr did too much I looked kinda crazy and my forehead felt heavy.

How much do you use of the Retna A at night? I was told by a dermatologist to use just the tip end of a writing pin for sun damage. Wondering if wrinkles take more?

Not sure why he said to use such a small amount. Recommendations on here and the info that came with my script is to use a "Pea Size" amount.

Hi Mandy, I started using tretinoin 1% last weekend. I have a military ball to go to in March. I am 32 and have fine lines on my forehead. Do you think it will help by then? Also, I hear all the time about the product causing redness and peeling. Should I stop use before so the side effects fade? Also, I read you use the Derma roller with retin a. Did you always use it or was this new? TIA!

Hi with me I had some peeling and reddens for about a month, I guess I would start after your ball as it will irritate your skin initially, i started using the derma roller maybe a couple month in, my lines have Most defiantly softened I started to notice after a couple of months of constant treatment x I hope that helps :)

Hi Mandy. I'm just wondering how things are now that you're using the dermaroller less. Is the any difference in the results?

Hi you do look great :) I've been using tretonin too for nearly 7 months now and definetly have seen results ....skin texture and tighter pores ..hardly any acne breakouts...I'm staying on it especially under my eyes to try to improve collagen production there since I've read that it builds the layers under the skin and I have dark circles plus tear troughs and some lines there (worst problem area :) ) I really hope to achieve any result there even if I have to stick with it longer.May I also know which facewash you use (that doesnt irritate your skin) and what do you use to moisturize? I use ponds cream for dry skin and happy with it.Wish you more and more improvment for your skin!

I am glad to hear you like your results, but I was hoping to hear better outcomes for circles, troughs, and lines. I started Retin a one month ago for adult acne and freaked out because of wrinkles it caused. Can you say if you worsened after starting Retin A? I was hoping that this is a side effect since I never much noticed before.....

Hi Mandy. Did you found your skin got stronger, more resilient and tighter in terms of the collagen working better?

It really looks like your skin has gained "volume" as well. Would you say it has?

The texture is thicker and defiantly tighter my skin was thin and almost see through it's back to a normal thickness now, I use a derma a derma roller three times a week but the creme has defiantly tightened and thickened my skin
