I have wanted a reduction for years. Reasons are: back pain, groves in shoulders, difficultely with running for exercise, finding bras that fit and dont hurt is impossible. Currently my bra size is 36L (UK is 36HH). Hoping to go down to a D. I have my pre-op appointment on Tues, April 10th.

Just posted before pictures.

Pre-op went well. My Dr said she will try her best to get me to a D cup. She also said a D cup is about half the size I am now! Eeeekkk! I am also getting a little lipo so I dont get 'dog ears' in the area between my breasts and armpit.

I am so excited to get this done! I was looking at clothes that I can wear after and bras!! I can buy a bra at a store!!! Not wait forever for one to get shipping to my from the internet.

One thing that I do worry about and this probably sounds dumb, but I think my belly will look bigger with smaller boobs! lol My belly and boobs are probably the 'fattest' things on my body. Hopefully I can get the willpower to change my eating habits and get back into running...

I have less than a week before surgery!!! I excited, scared, and anxious. It is already hard for me to sleep because I keep thinking about it!

Well, I am home now. I fell ok. I went in yesterday at 7:30am. Got changed, did paperwork, and waited til I could go into my preop room. I was nervous about the IV since I have had a horrible experiance getting an IV while giving birth to my kids. The IV went right in!! Then I waited til about 9:30 and Dr. H came in to draw on me.Then I said bye to my husband and was wheeled into the OR. On the way they gave me 'happy juice' in my iv. I switched to a new bed, got my arms straped downand thats all I remember!

Then I woke up with just some soreness. Dr. H called me last night and said she took out about 2 pounds on each side. I feel super flat! But I kinda like it. I am wrapped in a big Ace bandage right now and I have not actually seen them yet. I am kinda scared. I go back today to get the drains removed so I suppose I will see them then.

So far everyday is getting better. Getting the drainage tubes out was gross. Felt like they were taking a few feet of worm out of me! My husband almost threw up. My Ace bandage is getting itchy and I cant wait to sleep braless/bandageless! Im thankful that my husband, in laws, and sister in law are helping me out with my 2 and 4 year old boys. They want me to hold them and get upset when I say that I cant. :(

Also, I have a fever. Dr. thinks I am not breathing well enough. The first night I told my husband that I felt as though I was breathing shallow. I guess so, so now I have been trying to take deep breaths often and coughing occasionally as told. I will try to get some pictures up soon.

Just got back from my appt. Dr. H took out about half the staples and stitches. I am afraid to move! lol I am afraid it will rip or something. I cant believe that my skin can hold already...its only been 5 days. But she does this often so..

I go back to work tomorrow and also have an appointment with my PS. Kinda sucks that the only day Dr. H can see patients is on Tuesday or Friday...the only two days of the week that i work and it is over an hour away! : / I am adding a 1 week post op pic!

It s my son's 4th birthday today!

I am feeling great! I am so glad I did this! I bought the cheapest ever swim suit from Walmart! lol I usually had to spend around $100! I can wear tank tops with the built in support! I can wear night gowns and my boobies fit! I can wear just about anything now!

Sleeping is still tough. I am a belly sleeper and I cant do that yet. Still hurting/pulling pain under my arms. I have most my pain in my lower ribs....which I think is strange?? Other than that I feel great!

Great review?

Dawn, this may not be such a great consolation but by not sleeping on your belly you are protecting your neck from lots of bad stress. So something good is coming out of giving up your favorite position. It's my favorite, too, so I feel your pain!

Isn't it amazing how your body heals? I'm glad to hear you are doing well. How is the fever? Hope that is all cleared up and it was just in response to healing.

Yes, My fever has gone away!

I also have a 2 and 4 year old (upcoming surgery next week) so I can totally relate. Just think of how much closer you can hug them once you are all healed up, and how much easier it will be to run around and play with them :-) Take care and do your breathing/coughing, you will feel better soon!

I am just now at the 2 week mark. I think by day 5 or 6 I felt a whole lot better. Don't push yourself. Just take it easy. These first couple weeks are important to let your incisions close up nicely and for the swelling to go down. There is no point in trying to do more than you can, you will just cause yourself to have a set back and feel sore. It is just a few weeks of healing for a life time of change! Enjoy the down time and you will feel a lot better next week. : )

I had about the same amount removed as you. It feels like there is nothing left huh? But there is! I had my surgery almost 2 weeks ago and it does go by quickly. Take things slow and easy, you will feel better in no time. : )

I saw them yesterday. Looks gross bby can see them healing to a nice shape. My husband helped me shower last night. I stopped taking the vicodin because it was making me sick. I feel tired a lot and I hate sleeping on my back so sleeping is not comfortable. The stitches are prickley. I cant wait to feel better but I knew I was not going to feel great!

What did you think of the first viewing?

Yay! After my surgery we should get together and go shirt shopping together!! I'm worried about my belly too. I'm still 20 lbs from my goal weight and am afraid I will look super peary after surgery. Then again, I will be able to do effective ab workouts and exercise with less pain and frustration.
