I am 18 and have been a 38DDD/E for the last two years. After getting a job as a cashier and trying to work out and lose weight I finally had enough with back neck and shoulder pain and decided to have the surgery. My fam and friends are highly supportive and my mom was actually the one who suggested it to me. I had a consultation on May 3rd and my doctor was stunned by the size when I stood up straight and uncrossed my arms and immediately agreed that the surgery would be beneficial. I spent a lot of time doing research on the surgery before the consultation and after setting my date for July 12th I could not be more excited! This is the first surgery I have ever had so I'm sure nerves will kick in soon enough but I can't wait until I can feel and dress my age! I know that most people wait until their 20s to have the surgery but it's perfect timing because I'll be in between high school and college so I won't have to explain the surgery to too many people.

One week and two days until my surgery!!!! I can not believe it is almost here I thought it would never come!!! I am still wayyyyy more excited than nervous, which I didn't expect but I guess it's better that way! I feel like I'm really ready for this and that vacation in August will be sooooo much more enjoyable when I fell comfortable and supported in a bathing suit and can wear cute outfits out to diner :) I think I'm gonna post some pre-op pics but they will be clothed. I cannot wait ahhhh!!!

Sooooo I just went to my pre-op today!!! We talked about size and I'll probably be a high C to low D!!! I'll have draining tubes for the first few days (yuck). We also talked about other things to expect and stuff and he just got me soooooo excited!!! Also since I'll be one of his biggest reductions in a while he made me his only surgery for the day :) Dr. Singer is absolutely phenomenal!! So excluding today I have only two days left with the giant weights breaking my back!
So yesterday was my big day!!!! I spent a few...
So yesterday was my big day!!!! I spent a few hours waiting around because Dr. Singer got backed up at the office but otherwise everything went great!!! He said the amount of mL I lost was equall to two two liter sodas plus four cans!!! And I'm still gonna be a D!! Definitely think I was bigger than a DDD. I was a little nauseous after waking up for a few hours but I'm doing well to day with relatively low pain levels. I am sooooooo glad I did this because my back already feels great! Oh and also the nurses and Dr. Singer are very pleased that every few hours I'm only draining between 10-20ml
So today is one week since surgery and I'm doing...
So today is one week since surgery and I'm doing pretty well. Once I got the drains out on Monday and could shower I felt a million times better. The only problem is that when the nurse put the band-aids on over my drain holes, on the left side she put the band-aid on the incision. It hurt like hell when we had to change the band-aid and I have a bit of a leaky spot there now, but there's no infection so that's pretty good! Another problem that I hadn't really expected is an incredibly sore tailbone from being on my butt so much that makes it hard to sleep. The pain from that is actually worse than any in my breasts thus far :/ I'm happy that my incisions are healing well though and am enjoying seeing how big some of my shirts are on me now :)
Itchyyyyyyy. That's all I am today haha. I'm glad...
Itchyyyyyyy. That's all I am today haha. I'm glad though because that means I'm healing :). So far still no major problems that are out of the ordinary either! I"ve also noticed that some swelling is going down and a lot of the deeper and darker bruising has yellowed and improved a lot! I'm surprised at how fast I am healing, and I definitely thought it would take longer to start being able to do things but each day I find something else that I'm able to do by myself again:) I'll add some pictures I took today too!

So I am now two weeks post op and am really surprised at how fast the healing process is going. I have pretty much full mobility, but really haven't dared to lift much of anything and still ask for help with the water pitcher :/ Since I am a cashier at a grocery store where lifting heavy things is a constant part of my job I am not going back until after my second post op appointment which will be at my three week mark. I have noticed that a lot of scabbing has started to form too :) So far I have no regrets about having this surgery and have had a fairly smooth recovery. I can't wait until I can get back in the gym and work for the body and health (esp. because the pain that exercise brought to my back is what kick started all of this)!

Soooooooooooooooooo happy!!!! Today I tried on a bathing suit that my mom still had in her room that fit for like a day in seventh grade before my boobs exploded again and it fit perfectly!!!

So tomorrow I will be three weeks post op! A lot of the glue has been coming off this week (totally gross but w/e). Yesterday I was able to sit outside and for a while which I had definitely been missing! Also over the weekend I went out with my mom and got two bathing suits and a dress!! Everything's going pretty well and any pain I have is more of a soreness or a discomfort really.

Well it's been awhile sine I have updated because I've pretty much gone back to my normal everyday things. I went back to work for a week and this past week I have been on vacation. I get sore and tired quicker than before still, but I'm getting there! I was given the ok by Dr. Singer to go in the ocean and on water slides though so I'm having a great time!!! Also I have been wearing tank tops and sundresses like non stop since I can now without blinding people with cleavage :p Besides missing sleeping on my stomach everything's pretty great!!
So it's been awhile since I've posted and at this...
So it's been awhile since I've posted and at this point I am 59 days post-op :) I can do pretty much everything now except sleep on my stomach. I've been using a cocoa butter lotion that has started to soften the scars which is cool. The best thing that I've been able to do though was a preorientation experience for college at a ropes course where I climbed about halfway up a telephone pole and then walked across a wire while holding on to ropes (and being connected to a harness) and then later climbing all the way up to the top of a telephone pole and at 35ft up jumping off the ledge to zipline. It was the scarriest/most fun thing I have ever done!! I LOVE the confidence that I have now since this surgery and cannot believe how much better I feel :)

So I took a HUGE and exciting step today! I joined the contemporary dance company at my college and I cannot believe I went almost four years w/o dance. I quit because of the cost, but my ever enlarging breasts were making it a lot harder when I quit freshman year. I'm so happy that I'm gonna be able to dance again! Also I actually like the people I'm dancing with now instead of dreading awful comments! If your boobs are so large that they are stopping you from an activity you love, then I totally recommend this surgery!!!!

It's been forever since I posted but I am now almost five months post-op and could not be happier with my new boobs! I am now almost done my first semester at college and have been able to express myself and connect with other people in ways I would have been too shy to use before. Now I just have to start kicking my butt into the healthy lifestyle goal I had that lead to this surgery in the first place.

That is spectacular news, Sammie! I'm so happy that you are getting back the life you want! Wire-walking...zipline...dance...everything a young woman should be enjoying! I just can't tell you how thrilled I am for you!
And THAT is what is so great about having this surgery!! Congratulations!
Yay Sammie! So glad you are having so much fun :-D
Living the carefree life of a teenager...sounds just perfect for you!!
Oh My Goodness! That story about the bathing suit is amazing!
Yay, Sammie! Sounds like you are doing fabulously. I think you are doing the right thing by holding off on lifting much of anything. I don't think you can ever be too careful. You only get to go through this recovery once, so you may as well do it right! Congratulations!!
You look great! And so very happy! Congratulations :-D Of course when I wear Jon BonJovi on my chest, I tend to smile too!
I saw him in concert last March, no opening band, just them, and let me tell you that man has some stamina! MmmmmMmmmmMmmmm!
Other than that time I mentioned, I had only seen them way back in the big hair days of 1988, but it was a night to remember!
I'd say you are in pretty good shape if your fanny hurts more than your boobs! Congrats!
